    Evaluation of modulus of elasticity and modulus of subgrade reaction of soils using CBR test

    This paper presents the procedure of evaluation of the modulus of elasticity (E) and the modulus of subgrade reaction (ks) value based on the California Bearing Ratio (CBR) tests and FEM analysis. The pressure-displacement response of the soil in the CBR mould is simulated using Cosmosworks FEM model where the soil, the load plunger, and the steel mould of CBR are represented. The correlation of Modulus of Elasticity (E) with California Bearing Ratio (CBR) is developed based on the elastic properties of the soil sample. Furthermore, the correlation between E and CBR is proposed. Using the E values, modulus of subgrade reaction can be calculated and vice versa as well. Thus CBR test is expected to simplify the effort in determination of the modulus of subgrade reaction which is used in Foundation design, soil structure interaction, design of highway formations etc

    Sensitivity analysis of stormpav composite pavement

    This study investigates the design and performance of modified composite pavement called StormPav. In this study, the sensitivity analysis is carried out by using available freeware to prove whether the StormPav composite pavement is able to provide long-life pavement and better levels of performance, both structural and functionally, than the traditional pavements. For this case, the sensitivity analysis is included data for fatigue behavior, rutting in the HMA (Hot Mix Asphalt) layer, and temperature gradient reduction of PCC slab with an HMA overlay. The StormPav composite pavement is actually an innovation IBS green pavement with structural, environmental and economic advantages. Inspired from Legos concept, the StormPav is made out of modular panels or "roadblocks" that are like enormous lego pieces that assemble and interlocking together forming a uniform settlement and at the same time acting as the monolithic character. The idea of StormPav is actually to minimize the usage of material in the composite pavement but provide the same strength and benefits as composite pavement

    Desa Parebok merupakan salah satu desa yang terletak dibawah pemerintahan Kecamatan Teluk Sampit, Kabupaten Kotawaringin Timur, Kalimantan Tengah dengan luas wilayah 610 km2. Berdasarkan peta, desa Parebok berada diantara desa Basawang dan Sei. Jum. Beberapa komoditi serta sumber mata pencaharian penduduk desa Parebok sebagian besar berasal dari perkebunan kelapa. Penduduk setempat dengan mata pencaharian tersebut memanfaatkan kelapa untuk diolah sebagai kopra yang akan didistribusikan oleh pengepul menuju ke produsen. Namun, aktivitas pembuatan kopra tersebut justru menimbulkan masalah berupa pencemaran lingkungan. Dengan permasalahan tersebut, maka kami memprogramkan untuk membuat Tempat Pembuangan Akhir (TPA). Tujuan dari program kerja ini adalah agar para petani kopra tidak lagi membuang limbah serabut  kelapa secara sembarangan serta agar desa Parebok menjadi tampak lebih bersih dan rap
