Background: Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disease that occurs due to abnormalities in insulin secretion, insulin action, and hyperglycemia due to decreased insulin secretion by beta cells in the pancreas and also due to impaired insulin function. Some of the side effects that arise from type 2 diabetes mellitus are diabetic neuropathy and dynamic balance disorders caused by diseases, especially visual, digestive, limb system disorders, central nervous system disorders, systemic diseases, endocrine and the effects of drug therapy used on disability. disruption of dynamic balance, where dynamic balance greatly affects the risk of falls in the elderly. Objective: to determine the relationship between neuropathy, dynamic balance and social life in the elderly with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Methods: This type of research is a non-experimental research with a cross sectional approach. The sample of this study was 55 elderly. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with inclusion and exclusion criteria. Independent variable of neuropathy research, dynamic balancing and dependent variable of social life. Data collection methods used Diabetic Neuropathy Symptom for neuropathy, Time Up And Go for dynamic balance and Social Support Questionnaire (SSQ) for social life. The data analysis method used Spearman rank test for bivariate analysis and multiple linear regression analysis for univariate analysis and multivariate analysis. Results: Description of respondents, the majority have neuropathy by 60%, the majority have dynamic balancing with moderately fall risk criteria of 25.5% and mild fall risk of 45.5%, the majority of respondents have a fairly satisfied social life of 41.8% and very satisfied by 36.4%. The results of the Spearman rank test showed that there wasn’t relationship between neuropathy and social life with p>0.05, there was a relationship between dynamic balance and social life with a P value of <0.05. The results of the multivariate test showed that the F value was 5.537 with p <0.05 and the R2 value was 0.120 so that there wasn’t a relationship between neuropathy and dynamic balance with social life. Conclusion: There is no relationship between neuropathy and social life, there is a relationship between dynamic balance and social life, there is no a relationship between neuropathy and dynamic balance with social life.
