DETERMINATION OF AURINTRICARBOXYLIC ACID (A VIRAL INHIBITOR) USING MIXED MICELLAR CLOUD POINT EXTRACTION PROCEDURES

    Get PDF
Objective: Development of micelle mediated cloud point extraction (CPE) and preconcentration of aurintricarboxylic acid (ATCA) (a viral inhibitor). Methods: The method is based on the ion-pair formation between ATCA and a cationic surfactant tetrabutylammonium bromide (TBAB), which is extracted into the Triton X-114 (TX-114, a non-ionic surfactant) at a pH 4.4. The effect of different important parameters like pH, the concentration of surfactants (TX-114 and TBAB), salt, temperature, and time for the extraction of ATCA was optimized. Results: Extraction efficiency of 90.28 % for CPE of ATCA was obtained using mixed micelles of TX-114 and TBAB. The linear range and limits of detection for ATCA was found to be 8.44-84.47 µg ml-1 and 8.14 ng ml-1, respectively. Conclusion: The suggested CPE method has been applied to the determination of ATCA in aqueous solutions

    Android balloon game for children

Master of ScienceDepartment of Computing and Information SciencesDaniel AndresenAndroid balloon game application is an android application which helps in improving the children’s vocabulary power. This application provides a graphical user interface with words as questions and balloons as the options. The end user will have to select a balloon in order to select an answer. There are three modules in this application which are game mode, new game and high scores. In the basic module questions like Alpha_bet are included. Also as an enhancement, the game is made interesting by giving the user three lives to clear the levels of the game. Three small balloons are included in the application which resemble the three lives and once an incorrect answer is selected, the green balloon will be replaced by a red balloon depicting an incorrect answer. Also the scores will be computed for every correct option that is selected by the user. The score is incremented by ten points for every correct answer. And for the high score section, the game would maintain the list of top players. High score section will consist of the user’s name, score, time and date for the gameplay. Apart from that a next button is included which helps the user to skip a word which the user finds it difficult to answer. A hint option is also provided in the game which pronounces the word helping the user to guess the word correctly

Enhanced photoelectrochemical activity of Co-doped β-In2S3 nanoflakes as photoanodes for water splitting

    Get PDF
This work is primarily focused on indium sulfide (β-In2S3) and cobalt (Co)-doped β-In2S3 nanoflakes as photoanodes for water oxidation. The incorporation of cobalt introduces new dopant energy levels increasing visible light absorption and leading to improved photo-activity. In addition, cobalt ion centers in β-In2S3 act as potential catalytic sites to promote electro-activity. 5 mol% Co-doped β-In2S3 nanoflakes when tested for photoelectrochemical water splitting exhibited a photocurrent density of 0.69 mA cm−2 at 1.23 V, much higher than that of pure β-In2S3

Cryptosporidium, Enterocytozoon, and Cyclospora Infections in Pediatric and Adult Patients with Diarrhea in Tanzania.

Cryptosporidiosis, microsporidiosis, and cyclosporiasis were studied in four groups of Tanzanian inpatients: adults with AIDS-associated diarrhea, children with chronic diarrhea (of whom 23 of 59 were positive [+] for human immunodeficiency virus [HIV]), children with acute diarrhea (of whom 15 of 55 were HIV+), and HIV control children without diarrhea. Cryptosporidium was identified in specimens from 6/86 adults, 5/59 children with chronic diarrhea (3/5, HIV+), 7/55 children with acute diarrhea (0/7, HIV+), and 0/20 control children. Among children with acute diarrhea, 7/7 with cryptosporidiosis were malnourished, compared with 10/48 without cryptosporidiosis (P < .01). Enterocytozoon was identified in specimens from 3/86 adults, 2/59 children with chronic diarrhea (1 HIV+), 0/55 children with acute diarrhea, and 4/20 control children. All four controls were underweight (P < .01). Cyclospora was identified in specimens from one adult and one child with acute diarrhea (HIV-). Thus, Cryptosporidium was the most frequent and Cyclospora the least frequent pathogen identified. Cryptosporidium and Enterocytozoon were associated with malnutrition. Asymptomatic fecal shedding of Enterocytozoon in otherwise healthy, HIV children has not been described previously

Software development comprises of different phases like requirements, analysis, design coding and testing. In this contemporary world of software development, development of software in globalized scenarios is prevalent and prominent. As part of different globalized scenarios this thesis magnifies the scenario of software product transfer which deals with the testing of software in the offshore location.+919502697610 +91984967441
