Properties of a coupled two species atom-heteronuclear molecule condensate

We study the coherent association of a two-species atomic condensate into a condensate of heteronuclear diatomic molecules, using both a semiclassical treatment and a quantum mechanical approach. The differences and connections between the two approaches are examined. We show that, in this coupled nonlinear atom-molecule system, the population difference between the two atomic species plays a significant role in the ground-state stability properties as well as in coherent population oscillation dynamics.Comment: 7 pages, 4 figure

    Measurement back-action on the quantum spin-mixing dynamics of a spin-1 Bose-Einstein condensate

We consider a small F=1 spinor condensate inside an optical cavity driven by an optical probe field, and subject the output of the probe to a homodyne detection, with the goal of investigating the effect of measurement back-action on the spin dynamics of the condensate. Using the stochastic master equation approach, we show that the effect of back-action is sensitive to not only the measurement strength but also the quantum fluctuation of the spinor condensate. The same method is also used to estimate the atom numbers below which the effect of back-action becomes so prominent that extracting spin dynamics from this cavity-based detection scheme is no longer practical

    Solvable 3-Lie algebras with a maximal hypo-nilpotent ideal N

    Get PDF
This paper obtains all solvable 3-Lie algebras with the m-dimensional filiform 3-Lie algebra N (m >= 5) as a maximal hypo-nilpotent ideal, and proves that the m-dimensional filiform 3-Lie algebra N can't be as the nilradical of solvable non-nilpotent 3-Lie algebras. By means of one dimensional extension of Lie algebras to the 3-Lie algebras, we get some classes of solvable Lie algebras directly

MFV approach to robust estimate of neutron lifetime

Aiming at evaluating the lifetime of the neutron, we introduce a novel statistical method to analyse the updated compilation of precise measurements including the 2022 dataset of Particle Data Group (PDG). Based on the minimization for the information loss principle, unlike the median statistics method, we apply the most frequent value (MFV) procedure to estimate the neutron lifetime, irrespective of the Gaussian or non-Gaussian distributions. Providing a more robust way, the calculated result of the MFV is τn=881.162.35+2.25\tau_n=881.16^{+2.25}_{-2.35} s with statistical bootstrap errors, while the result of median statistics is τn=881.53+5.5\tau_n=881.5^{+5.5}_{-3} s according to the binomial distribution. Using the different central estimates, we also construct the error distributions of neutron lifetime measurements and find the non-Gaussianity, which is still meaningful

Inhibitory effects of Clostridium butyricum culture and supernatant on inflammatory colorectal cancer in mice

Clostridium butyricum (CB) is a spore-forming, gram-positive and obligate anaerobic rod bacterium. CB can modulate the composition of the gut microbiome and promote the growth of beneficial microbes in the intestine by generating short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs), which in turn protect against colitis and prevents the formation of inflammatory-associated colorectal cancer (CRC) by ameliorating colon inflammatory processes. Yet, it remains unclear whether the culture and supernatant of CB could directly influence inflammatory CRC in mice. In this study, azoxymethane (AOM)+dextran sodium sulphate (DSS) was used to induce CRC model in C57BL/6 mice. Next, the serum levels of inflammatory cytokines, including interleukin-6 (IL-6), interleukin-10 (IL-10), and cytokines TNF-α, were measured and the pathohistological examination of the large intestine was performed. Both CB culture and supernatant were found to have anti-inflammatory properties. Subsequently, Western blot and Real-Time Quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR) revealed that CB and supernatant regulate the NF-κB/p65 pathway to inhibit the development and progression of inflammatory CRC in AOM+DSS-treated mice, which could be due to the high levels of butyric acid in the supernatant

AbstractWe define the hypo-nilpotent ideal in n-Lie algebras and obtain all solvable 3-Lie algebras with an m-dimensional simplest filiform 3-Lie algebra as a maximal hypo-nilpotent ideal. We prove that the dimension of such solvable 3-Lie algebras is at most m+2, and there is no solvable 3-Lie algebra with the simplest filiform 3-Lie algebra as the nilradical

Phase Separation in two-Species Atomic Bose-Einstein Condensate with Interspecies Feshbach Resonance

We consider a mixture of two-species atomic Bose-Einstein codensates coupled to a bound molecular state at zero temperature via interspecies Feshbach resonance. The interspecies Feshbach coupling precludes the possibility of doubly mixed phases while enables not only the pure molecular superfluid but also the pure atomic superfluids to exist as distinct phases. We show that this system is able to support a rich set of phase separations, including that between two distinct mixed atom-molecule phases. We pay particular attention to the effects of the Feschbach coupling and the particle collisions on the miscibility of this multi-component condensate system.Comment: 9 pages, 3 figure
