Producing optimized structures with inflatables

In this paper we describe the research of the best combination of construction, material and typology for structures with bending moments constructed with fabric formwork. The results are inflated three dimensional (open cell) structures rigidized and structurally optimized. The structure is 40% lighter as conventional beams of the same material and was realized and tested in prototypes and full scale models

Spuitbeton op voorgespannen membranen

Op de Technische Universiteit Eindhoven wordt bij de faculteit Bouwkunde onderzoek gedaan naar de mogelijkheden von 'spuitbeton op voorgespannen membranen '. Het onderzoek is onderdeel van een promotietraject. Deze techniek biedt uitkomst voor het maken von vormen die op een andere manier moeiijk zijn te realiseren, zoals blobs. Een van de toepassingen is de mogelijke herbouw van het Philipspavjljoen, destijds ontworpen door Le Corbusier voor de wereldtentoonsteiling in 1958 in Brussel
