    PSO Based Lossless and Robust Image Watermarking using Integer Wavelet Transform

    In recent days, the advances in the broadcasting of multimedia contents in digital format motivate to protect this digital multimedia content form illegal use, such as manipulation, duplication and redistribution. However, watermarking algorithms are designed to meet the requirements of different applications, because, various applications have various requirements. This paper intends to design a new watermarking algorithm with an aim of provision of a tradeoff between the robustness and imperceptibility and also to reduce the information loss. This approach applies Integer Wavelet Transform (IWT) instead of conventional floating point wavelet transforms which are having main drawback of round of error. Then the most popular artificial intelligence technique, particle swarm optimization (PSO) used for optimization of watermarking strength. The strength of watermarking technique is directly related to the watermarking constant alpha. The PSO optimizes alpha values such that, the proposed approach achieves better robustness over various attacks and an also efficient imperceptibility.     Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan aktivitas belajar mahasiswa menggunakan Modul Oil Cooler Trainer berbasis Saintific Learning dengan model pembelajaran Guided Inquiry pada mata kuliah perpindahan panas. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (classroom action research) yang dilaksanakan di kelas DA1 otomotif D3 Teknik Mesin UNESA pada semester genap dengan jumlah 31 mahasiswa yang memprogram mata kuliah perpindahan panas. Penelitian tindakan kelas dengan model pembelajaran Guided Inquiry menggunakan alur dua siklus pembelajaran. Instrumen yang digunakan peneliti adalah lembar pengamatan aktivitas dan latihan soal untuk mendapatkan hasil belajar yang maksimal. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah metode analisis aktivitas belajar mahasiswa dengan harapan pencapaian klasikal mencapai ≥ 80%. Dari analisis data hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa aktivitas belajar mahasiswa pada siklus I sebesar 64.92% dan meningkat menjadi 90.93% pada siklus II.     The Application of Encapsulated Gluten on Tapioca Wet Noodle Making Processing

    Gluten is a specific protein found in wheat and functionally needed to improve its elasticity and texture of carbohydrate-based dough. Gluten, isolated from wheat, can be used in the free-form or encapsulation. The aim of this research was to investigate the effects of encapsulated gluten addition on properties of tapioca for wet noodle production. The parameters studied were texture, sensory, and pasting properties of the noodles. The ratios of encapsulated gluten to tapioca were 97%:3%, 96%:4% and 95%:5%. The results showed that the use of encapsulated gluten as much as 3% w/w gave the best noodle with the characteristics of setback viscosity, low cooking loss and organoleptically preferred by panelists

    Mechanical Behavior of Various Orthodontic Retraction Springs

    Retraction spring is a type of orthodontic apparatus that is used to move a tooth with respect to another by utilizing its spring back effect. It is made of metallic wire formed to individual orthodontic cases. A specific geometry results in a set of force system, consisting of forces and moments, that provides specific movement effect when it is pre-activated to the adjacent teeth. Currently, orthodontists select its geometry depending on their knowledge and experience. It is based on separate and less-than-comprehensive literatures that not all orthodontists have access to. It may result in inaccuracies in treating individual tooth retraction case. Engineering approach to estimating retraction spring structural behavior is proposed through analytical, numerical and empirical methods. Castigliano method is used as the analytical approach, whilst finite element method is used as the numerical approach. The two simulation approaches were compared to the experiments to obtain the best simulation model. The behavior of the simulation models agree well with those of experiments. Hence, the simulation models were used to simulate a large number of geometries to form database of structural behavior of retraction spring that could be used in the geometry selection by orthodontists

    VANET adalah sebuah pengembangan teknologi yang memungkinkan komunikasi antar kendaraan meskipun tidak terdapat koneksi secara langsung antara kendaraan yang berkomunikasi. Untuk meningkatkan performa protokol routing, maka pada penelitian ini akan ditambahkan SIN (Static Intersection Node). Static Intersection Node adalah RSU (Road Side Unit) yang diletakkan di persimpangan jalan (intersection). Fungsi dari Static Intersection Node pada penelitian ini adalah sebagai repeater untuk membantu mengirimkan paket data ke kendaraan lain yang berada disekitarnya sehingga dapat meningkatkan Packet Delivery Ratio serta meminimalkan Packet Loss dan End to End Delay

    Proses Pemilihan Umum (Pemilu) seperti Pemilihan Kepala Daerah (Pilkada), Pemilihan Legislatif (Pileg), dan Pemilihan Presiden (Pilpres) di Indonesia dewasa ini masih rawan kecurangan untuk kepentingan salah satu golongan, seperti yang terindikasi kuat terjadi pada beberapa Pilkada yang telah dilaksanakan. Hal ini terjadi karena terdapat beberapa titik dalam tahapan Pemilu yang berpotensi besar bisa dilakukan berbagai macam kecurangan. Kecurangan ini bisa berupa manipulasi data pada saat proses pengiriman hasil penghitungan suara di Tempat Pemungutan Suara (TPS) untuk direkapitulasi di tingkat Panitia Pemilihan Kecamatan (PPK). Hal lain yang dapat dimanfaatkan adalah adanya sisa kertas suara yang juga berpotensi menimbulkan praktik curang. Secara sistem juga belum dapat dibuktikan seorang pemilih benar-benar melakukan pemilihan di sebuah TPS. Sistem yang berlaku sekarang, petugas KPPS-lah yang mencatat kehadiran seorang pemilih. Dengan berbagai potensi kecurangan tersebut, sudah saatnya kita berupaya untuk mengatasi dan mencegah hal-hal tersebut terjadi pada pemilihan yang akan datang. Pemerintah telah membentuk Panitia Pengawas Pemilu (Panwaslu) untuk meminimalisir terjadinya berbagai kecurangan dalam Pemilu. Namun demikian, tetap harus ada perbaikan terkait dengan sistem pemilihan yang selama ini digunakan dan masih dilakukan secara manual (by paper). Dengan memanfaatkan kemajuan teknologi, sistem Pemilu di Indonesia dapat dilakukan secara elektronik. Penerapan sistem Pemilu secara elektronik dapat memberikan berbagai kemudahan dan keuntungan dibandingkan dengan pemilihan secara manual. Namun, dibalik kemudahan dan keuntungan yang diberikan belum tentu sistem pemilihan secara elektronik itu aman. Dengan demikian harus ada suatu jaminan keamanan terhadap sistem tersebut. Salah satu cara untuk memberikan jaminan keamanan sistem adalah dengan menerapkan fungsi kriptografi pada sistem pemilihan elektronik tersebut sehingga mampu mengatasi kerawanan kecurangan yang mungkin terjadi. Aplikasi Secure e-election merupakan konsep Pemilu secara elektronik yang menerapkan fungsi kriptografi dan mendukung azas Pemilu yaitu Langsung, Umum, Bebas, Rahasia, Jujur, dan Adil (LUBER JURDIL). Aplikasi ini terdiri dari aplikasi pendaftaran pemilih, aplikasi pemungutan suara, aplikasi pengecekan pilihan serta aplikasi web untuk mengakses daftar pemilih dan hasil pemilu. Fitur yang terdapat dalam aplikasi ini adalah database online yang memuat daftar pemilih se-Indonesia dan hasil pemilihan serta otentikasi pemilih dilakukan dengan menggunakan fingerprint sehingga memungkinkan pemilih melakukan pemilihan di TPS manapun

    Overflow in the West Floodway is a natural event caused by inadequate river capacity to flow the existing discharge.Based on the analysis of hydrological West Floodway with the help of software HEC-HMS (Hydrologic Engineering Center-Hydrologic Modeling System) obtained discharge plan (Q50) of 951.9 m3/s. The hydraulics analysis was carried out by the help of software HEC-RAS (Hydrologic Engineering Center-River Analysis System)and the result is an overflow along the 8 km (WF 0-WF 97) in the West Floodway Region. To overcome these problems, it is necessary to be taken a solution, that is increasing river capacity. Based on existing field conditions (limited space) then the plan is using 2 type of river profiles, there are at the downstream river is used for single and double crosssection on the upstream, both is planning using manning formula

    Approximating nonequilibrium processes using a collection of surrogate diffusion models

    The surrogate process approximation (SPA) is applied to model the nonequilibrium dynamics of a reaction coordinate (RC) associated with the unfolding and refolding processes of a deca-alanine peptide at 300 K. The RC dynamics, which correspond to the evolution of the end-to-end distance of the polypeptide, are produced by steered molecular dynamics (SMD) simulations and approximated using overdamped diffusion models. We show that the collection of (estimated) SPA models contain structural information "orthogonal" to the RC monitored in this study. Functional data analysis ideas are used to correlate functions associated with the fitted SPA models with the work done on the system in SMD simulations. It is demonstrated that the shape of the nonequilibrium work distributions for the unfolding and refolding processes of deca-alanine can be predicted with functional data analysis ideas using a relatively small number of simulated SMD paths for calibrating the SPA diffusion models.Comment: 13 pages, 7 figure

    Concurrent emergence of exotic whitefly incursions on arecanut (Areca catechu L.) in India

    Field incidence of exotic whitefly complex comprising two Neotropical nesting whiteflies viz., Paraleyrodes bondari Peracchi and Paraleyrodes minei Iaccarino, in association with invasive rugose spiralling whitefly Aleurodicus rugioperculatus Martin and native areca whitefly, Aleurocanthus arecae David & Manjunatha, on arecanut was reported from Karnataka, India during 2020. These arecanut palms were previously infested by A. arecae which was earlier reported from Karnataka during 2003. To our knowledge, this is the first report on the infestation of P. bondari and P. minei on arecanut as highlighted in this current investigation. Morphological identification based on pupal taxonomy and male genitalia as well as molecular characterization of the mitochondrial cytochrome oxidase I (COI) gene confirmed the identity of nesting whiteflies. The Bondar’s nesting whitefly, P. bondari is the most predominant whitefly species with 87.5 per cent active colonies followed by the nesting whitefly, P. minei (13.64%) and the rugose spiralling whitefly, A. rugioperculatus (6.25%). Co-occurrence of these three non-native whitefly species on arecanut in synergy with the native A. arecae indicates a kind of competitive regulation of one species over the other upsetting biodiversity. Due to the polyphagous nature of the pest coupled with increased trade and transport in a climate change scenario, this whitefly complex may become a serious threat to arecanut production in India and elsewhere. This requires strict quarantine protocols to avert its spread to other arecanut growing areas
