Light-Scattering by Longitudinal phonons in Supercooled Molecular Liquids II: Microscopic Derivation of the Phenomenological Equations
The constitutive equations for the orientational dynamics of a liquid formed
of linear molecules are derived microscopically. The resulting generalised
Langevin equations coincide with the phenomenological approach of Dreyfus et
al. Formally exact expressions are given for the phenomenological coefficients
and various constraints are shown to be consequences of this microscopic

LHC/ILC Interplay in SUSY Searches
Combined analyses at the Large Hadron Collider and at the International
Linear Collider are important to reveal precisely the new physics model as, for
instance, supersymmetry. Examples are presented where ILC results as input for
LHC analyses could be crucial for the identification of signals as well as of
the underlying model. The synergy of both colliders leads also to rather
accurate SUSY parameter determination and powerful mass constraints even if the

Observation of a nanophase segregation in LiCl aqueous solutions from Transient Grating Experiments
Transient Grating experiments performed on supercooled LiCl, RH2O solutions
with R>6 reveal the existence of a strong, short time, extra signal which
superposes to the normal signal observed for the R=6 solution and other glass
forming systems. This extra signal shows up below 190 K, its shape and the
associated timescale depend only on temperature, while its intensity increases
with R. We show that the origin of this signal is a phase separation between
clusters with a low solute concentration and the remaining, more concentrated,
solution. Our analysis demonstrates that these clusters have a nanometer size
and a composition which are rather temperature independent, while increasing R
simply increases the number of these clusters.Comment: 19 pages+ 8 figures+ 2 table

The lightest neutralino in the MNSSM
We examine the allowed mass range of the lightest neutralino within the
Minimal Non--minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model. Being absolutely stable if
R-parity is conserved this lightest neutralino is a candidate for the dark
matter of the universe. We establish the theoretical upper bound on the

Effect of Nitrogen on Cellular Production and Release of the Neurotoxin Anatoxin-A in a Nitrogen-Fixing Cyanobacterium
Anatoxin-a (ANTX) is a neurotoxin produced by several freshwater cyanobacteria and implicated in lethal poisonings of domesticated animals and wildlife. The factors leading to its production in nature and in culture are not well understood. Resource availability may influence its cellular production as suggested by the carbon-nutrient hypothesis, which links the amount of secondary metabolites produced by plants or microbes to the relative abundance of nutrients. We tested the effects of nitrogen supply (as 1, 5, and 100% N of standard cyanobacterial medium corresponding to 15, 75, and 1500 mg L−1 of NaNO3 respectively) on ANTX production and release in a toxic strain of the planktonic cyanobacterium Aphanizomenon issatschenkoi (Nostocales). We hypothesized that nitrogen deficiency might constrain the production of ANTX. However, the total concentration and more significantly the cellular content of anatoxin-a peaked (max. 146 μg/L and 1683 μg g−1 dry weight) at intermediate levels of nitrogen supply when N-deficiency was evident based on phycocyanin to chlorophyll a and carbon to nitrogen ratios. The results suggest that the cellular production of anatoxin-a may be stimulated by moderate nitrogen stress. Maximal cellular contents of other cyanotoxins have recently been reported under severe stress conditions in another Nostocales species
