Random Attractor for Stochastic Hindmarsh-Rose Equations with Multiplicative Noise

    Get PDF
The global pullback dynamics of stochastic Hindmarsh-Rose equations with multiplicative noise in neurodynamics is investigated in this work. The existence of a random attractor for this random dynamical system is proved through the exponential transformation and uniform estimates showing the pullback absorbing property and the pullback asymptotically compactness of this stochastic cocycle

    Rechargeable Aqueous Microdroplet

Directional and controllable transportation of microdroplets is critical for emerging micro- and nanotechnology, in which the conventional mechanical energy generation is not applicable. This Letter shows that an aqueous microdroplet can be charged for controlled motion in electrostatic potential, which was created by differentiating pH, between two oil/water interfaces. The directional motion of the droplet, <100 micro-meters in diameter, was obtained with a constant velocity of ~1 mm/s. The force analysis showed that the droplet surface was charged and recharged oppositely byion transfer through interfacial layers, without significant mass transfer. The charging and recharging cycles were recorded continuously with a single droplet over 100 times. The energy for motion was generated from pH neutralization, which is the simplest aqueous reaction. This is the first time that the phenomenon is reported. The phenomenon can be employed as an efficient and robust method to convert chemical to mechanical energy for miniaturized devices and microprocesses

Some solutions to respond climate change for the Mekong Delta, Viet Nam

    Get PDF
In the recent decades, the Mekong River Delta has suffered quite significant impacts of climate change. Fluctuations of weather elements and sea level rises have caused adverse changes, namely: the appearance of unusual high and low levels of annual floods, more and more intense storms, more severe droughts, forest fires, river erosion, cyclones, and tidal surges appear increasingly more dangerous. Traditional adaptation measures to the environmental conditions may be unsuitable in the context of climate change in the Mekong River Delta. This paper summarizes some of the new adaptation measures that scientists and policy planners have proposed for the area to cope with the negative impacts of climate change

Consideration of Data Security and Privacy Using Machine Learning Techniques

As artificial intelligence becomes more and more prevalent, machine learning algorithms are being used in a wider range of domains. Big data and processing power, which are typically gathered via crowdsourcing and acquired online, are essential for the effectiveness of machine learning. Sensitive and private data, such as ID numbers, personal mobile phone numbers, and medical records, are frequently included in the data acquired for machine learning training. A significant issue is how to effectively and cheaply protect sensitive private data. With this type of issue in mind, this article first discusses the privacy dilemma in machine learning and how it might be exploited before summarizing the features and techniques for protecting privacy in machine learning algorithms. Next, the combination of a network of convolutional neural networks and a different secure privacy approach is suggested to improve the accuracy of classification of the various algorithms that employ noise to safeguard privacy. This approach can acquire each layer's privacy budget of a neural network and completely incorporates the properties of Gaussian distribution and difference. Lastly, the Gaussian noise scale is set, and the sensitive information in the data is preserved by using the gradient value of a stochastic gradient descent technique. The experimental results showed that a balance of better accuracy of 99.05% between the accessibility and privacy protection of the training data set could be achieved by modifying the depth differential privacy model's parameters depending on variations in private information in the data

The prospects of rainwater harvesting in the Ho CHi Minh City

    Get PDF
Wisely using natural water resources to serve human needs plays a decisive role in ensuring water and food security. In the natural water cycle, rainwater is considered as a valuable renewable resource. Rainwater harvesting (RWH) for daily life and production is a simple but effective and also environmentally sound measure. It is also a positive solution in a climate change adaptation strategy. However, this resource is being wasted in our country in general and in the HCM City in particular. This paper provides an overview of the status of rainwater use in the world; the general situation, the potential of rainwater collection and a number of issues related to the potential of rainwater harvesting in the city. Some solutions to enhance the use of rainwater and improve water supply for city residents are also suggested in this discussion
