Master's thesis in Economic analysisTaking previous research on this topic into consideration, this thesis sets out to give some insights as to why there seems to be increasing focus on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives by firms. Using theory from business ethics, CSR, investor behaviour and finance as a base, we try to answer how CSR announcements made by listed firms in the U.S. affect its firm value, hereunder stock returns. After conducting an event study, similar to the approach of Elton, Gruber, Brown and Goetzmann (2014), we find no overall significant evidence that CSR announcements affect stock returns. However, when expanding the analysis by adding business sectors, our results view firms in the financial, services and basic materials sector to experience a significantly negative effect on firm value when announcing CSR initiatives

In this paper, we examine the bilateral implications of regional and global trade arrangements in the East Asian context. Using a dynamic global CGE model, we examine a variety of trade scenarios, in terms of bilateral relations between China and two of its most populace regional partners, Vietnam and Japan. Given the differences between the latter two economies, it might be reasonable to expect divergence in the bilateral outcomes. Our findings indicate that differences in initial conditions can indeed have a significant impact on bilateral adjustments, and that these can be adverse for some partners in the absence of policies that promote trade complementarity. By the latter we mean bilateral import and export patterns where the aggregate grows faster for each country than their total trade, but which help sustain bilateral balance of payments equilibrium.Dragon; Head; Bilateralism; Globalism

This paper explores a new approach of researching margin by taking advantage of the flexibility and extensive framework of option pricing and shows how it could allow for a deep and robust analysis of margin trading business

This study aimed to assess the contributing aspects and design decentralized adaptive models for urban agriculture. The research techniques included data collection, surveying and interviewing farmers, statistical analysis and FAO land suitability assessment techniques. The results show that the model of growing green vegetables, fruits and vegetables outside, together with decorative plants, orchids and raising cattle, is the most effective. Moreover, job-creating models boost income, calm down people, spread joy, supply clean food right away, provide room for greenery, recycle agricultural waste and reduce environmental pollution. The outcome is the foundation for selecting the best foreign investment model for future growth. According to the study's findings, sustainable agricultural options for the area assist people in living better, protecting the environment, and earning more money in the future
