Constant curvature black holes in Einstein AdS gravity: conserved quantities

    Get PDF
We study physical properties of constant curvature black holes (CCBHs) in Einstein anti-de Sitter (AdS) gravity. These objects, which are locally AdS throughout the space, are constructed from identifications of global AdS spacetime, in a similar fashion as Banados-Teitelboim-Zanelli (BTZ) black hole in three dimensions. We find that, in dimensions equal or greater than four, CCBHs have zero mass and angular momentum. Only in odd dimensions we are able to associate a nonvanishing conserved quantity to these solutions, which corresponds to the vacuum (Casimir) energy of the spacetime.Comment: 20 pages, no figure

Accurate numerical evaluation of systematics in the experiment for electron electric dipole moment measurement in HfF+^+

Hyperfine structure of the ground rotational level of the metastable 3Δ1^3\Delta_1 electronic state of 180^{180}HfF+^+ ion is calculated at presence of variable external electric and magnetic fields. Calculations are required for analysis of systematic effects in experiment for electron electric dipole moment (eeEDM) search. Different perturbations in molecular spectra important for eeEDM spectroscopy are taken into account.Comment: arXiv admin note: text overlap with arXiv:2302.0285

Progress toward the P\mathcal{P}, T\mathcal{T}-odd Faraday effect: Light absorption by atoms briefly interacting with a laser beam

We investigate the process of photon absorption by atoms or molecules shortly interacting with a laser beam in the dipole approximation. Assuming that the interaction time τ\tau is much smaller than the lifetime of the corresponding excited state, we examine the absorption probability as a function of τ\tau. Besides, we incorporate Doppler broadening due to nonzero temperature of the atoms (molecules). It is demonstrated that in the case of a zero detuning and without Doppler broadening, the absorption probability is quadratic in τ\tau. Once Doppler broadening is taken into account or the laser beam is off from the resonant frequency, the absorption probability becomes linear in τ\tau. Our findings are expected to be important for experimental studies in optical cells or cavities where atoms or molecules traverse continuous laser beams. The experimental prospects of searching for the electric dipole moment (EDM) of the electron are discussed in detail

, -Odd Effects in the LuOHâș Cation

The LuOH+ cation is a promising system to search for manifestations of time reversal and spatial parity violation effects. Such effects in LuOH+ induced by the electron electric dipole moment eEDM and the scalar-pseudoscalar interaction of the nucleus with electrons, characterized by ks constant, in LuOH+ are studied. The enhancement factors, polarization in the external electric field, hyperfine interaction, and rovibrational structure are calculated. The study is required for the experiment preparation and extraction of the eEDM and ks values from experimental data

This paper aims to share our experiences gained from working on multiple industrial–academic collaborative projects within the Digital Innovation for Growth (DIfG) regional programme. This initiative provided academic expertise to low-resource SMEs. The projects primarily revolved around measuring various process or structural health variables. The subsequent wireless reporting of these results to an online dashboard and generating alert messages when variables exceeded predefined thresholds were central to our work. Due to the diverse nature of our partners’ requirements, there was no one-size-fits-all solution for the considered use cases. We will delve into our utilization and insights regarding various IoT-related tools and technologies. These include ESP32 WiFi-enabled microcontrollers, WiFi Manager, NTP time service, watchdog timers, Adafruit IO dashboards and the Twilio SMS gateway, as well as LoRa modules and networks such as TNT and Helium. By effectively combining these tools and technologies, we successfully completed prototypes that enabled testing of the devices on-site
