Community Health Centers in an Era of Health System Reform and Economic Downturn: Prospects and Challenges
Reviews 2008 legislation reauthorizing community health centers and the factors affecting their role as providers for the uninsured, publicly insured, and underinsured. Outlines health centers' patient mix, quality of care, revenues, and challenges
Investigation into the effect of Y, Yb doping in Ba2In2O5: determination of the solid solution range and co-doping with phosphate
In this paper we examine the effect of Y, Yb doping in Ba2In2O5, examining the solid solution range and effect on the conductivity and CO2 stability. The results showed that up to 35% Y, Yb can be introduced, and this doping leads to an introduction of disorder on the oxygen sublattice, and a corresponding increase in conductivity. Further increases in Y, Yb content could be achieved through co-doping with phosphate. While this co-doping strategy led to a reduction in the conductivity, it did have a beneficial effect on the CO2 stability, and further improvements in the CO2 stability could be achieved through La and P co-doping
Families of L-functions and their Symmetry
In [90] the first-named author gave a working definition of a family of
automorphic L-functions. Since then there have been a number of works [33],
[107], [67] [47], [66] and especially [98] by the second and third-named
authors which make it possible to give a conjectural answer for the symmetry
type of a family and in particular the universality class predicted in [64] for
the distribution of the zeros near s=1/2. In this note we carry this out after
introducing some basic invariants associated to a family
PaL Diagrams: A Linear Diagram-Based Visual Language
Linear diagrams have recently been shown to be
more effective than Euler diagrams when used
for set-based reasoning. However, unlike the
growing corpus of knowledge about formal aspects
of Euler and Venn diagrams, there has been no
formalisation of linear diagrams. To fill this
knowledge gap, we present and formalise Point
and Line (PaL) diagrams, an extension of simple
linear diagrams containing points, thus providing
a formal foundation for an effective visual
language. We prove that PaL diagrams are exactly
as expressive as monadic first-order logic with
equality, gaining, as a corollary, an equivalence
with the Euler diagram extension called spider
diagrams. The method of proof provides translations
between PaL diagrams and sentences of monadic
first-order logic
Normal versus anomalous self-diffusion in two-dimensional fluids: Memory function approach and generalized asymptotic Einstein relation
Based on the generalized Langevin equation for the momentum of a Brownian
particle a generalized asymptotic Einstein relation is derived. It agrees with
the well-known Einstein relation in the case of normal diffusion but continues
to hold for sub- and super-diffusive spreading of the Brownian particle's mean
square displacement. The generalized asymptotic Einstein relation is used to
analyze data obtained from molecular dynamics simulations of a two-dimensional
soft disk fluid. We mainly concentrated on medium densities for which we found
super-diffusive behavior of a tagged fluid particle. At higher densities a
range of normal diffusion can be identified. The motion presumably changes to
sub-diffusion for even higher densities
2-Hydroxy-3-methoxybenzaldehyde (o-vanillin) revisited
The structure of ortho-vanillin, C[subscript 8]H[subscript 8]O[subscript 3], has been revisited with modern methods and at low temperature (100 K). The previous structure [Iwasaki et al. (1976). Acta Cryst. B32, 1264-1266] is confirmed, but geometric precision is improved by an order of magnitude. The C atom of the methoxy group lies close to the benzene ring plane, which is the most common geometry for -OMe groups lying ortho to -OH groups on an aromatic ring. The crystal structure displays one intramolecular O-H...O and three weak intermolecular C-H...O hydrogen bonds
Vision Exams for Children Prior to Entering School
Children\u27s vision problems are very common, affecting nearly 15 million children. Early screening and detection are essential in treating eye disorders in children. This fact sheet discusses statistical data associated with Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnosis, and Treatment (EPSDT) of vision/eye conditions, and provides recommendations from the National Commission on Vision and Health
