Cage aquaculture requires suitable site, materials to fabricate cage, nutritionally balance feed and healthy seed. The cage farm depending upon intensification generates the considerable wastes which include uneaten food, excretory products (faecal matter and urinary products). Many cage aquaculture activities utilize chemicals for prophylactic as well as therapeutic purpose which further contributes to the total waste discharge. Further, microorganisms and parasites associated with caged fish also contribute towards cumulative environmental degradation

For the grow-out trials, circular cages of diameter ranging from 6-15 meters have been tried by CMFRI. However, cage diameter 6-10 is recommended for the culture of Mullet, Cobia, Pompano, Sea bass and Pearl spot. The grow-out of candidate species in caged enclosures requires proper planning and management. The critical inputs like right kind of seed, nutritionally balanced feed and routine cage maintenance activity decide the success of grow-out production. Unlike closed or semi-closed culture systems, marine environment is more diverse and dynamic, thus did not offer much scope for the environmental as well as biological manipulations. After proper site selection and cage installations, cages should be stocked with recommended numbers of seed depending upon water volume/ cage area

    Get PDF
Ternary MnFe2O4/graphene/epoxy nanocomposites have been synthesized using chemical co-precipitation and solid state methods having different concentration of graphene. The obtained ternary nanocomposites and pure MnFe2O4 have been characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and impedance spectroscopy to obtain the structural, morphological and dielectric properties. The crystallite size of MnFe2O4 has been calculated using Scherer formula, which was found to be 1.3 nm. The agglomeration of particles with surface roughness was obtained by SEM analysis. The device has been fabricated using silver coating in terms of capacitor to characterize dielectric properties. It has also been observed from dielectric analysis as concentration of graphene increases from 1% to 10%, the value of gradient of dielectric decreases and also loss tangent decreases on increasing concentration of graphene

Objective: The prime objective of the current work is to develop a simple, rapid, efficient, economical and stability indicating LC-MS (liquid chromatography–mass spectroscopy) compatible RP - HPLC (reverse phase – high performance liquid chromatography) method for the analysis of emtricitabine (EMT), tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (TDF), cobicistat (COB) and elvitegravir (ELV) in bulk, marketed formulation (Stribild) and in In-vitro dissolution method. Method: The chromatography was achieved on Unisol C18 column (250 × 4.0 mm, 3 µ) with a mobile phase combination of acetate buffer (adjusted with dilute glacial acetic acid to pH 4) and acetonitrile in gradient mode at a flow rate of 1mL/min and the detection was performed at 260 nm using PDA (photo diode array) detector. Forced degradation studies were performed and the % degradation under various stress conditions was calculated. The developed RP-HPLC method was applied for Stribild tablets to study the dissolution profile. Results: The retention times for emtricitabine, tenofovir disoproxil fumarate, cobicistat and elvitegravir were 5.7, 12.1, 16.3 and 19.4 min respectively. The % degradation was below 20% which is within the limits. The percent drug release was found to meet USP specification, i.e. not less than 80% of amount of labeled drug EMT, TDF, COB and ELV dissolved in 30min. Conclusion: The method was validated as per ICH guidelines and all the validation parameters were within the compendial requirements. The proposed method can be successfully adopted for the analysis of Stribild tablets in pharmaceutical industries. Keywords: Stribild, emtricitabine, tenofovir disoproxil fumarate, cobicistat, elvitegravi

Shri. Ramdas Tukaram Kokare, presently working as Chief Officer in Municipal Corporation, Karjat which has a total population of 30,000 and generates Class III Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) in the tune of 12 metric tonnes per day. Earlier during 2010 to 2015 he had served as Chief Officer at Municipal Corporation Dapoli, Maharashtra and during 2015-2017 he at Vengurla also in Maharashtra. In 2010, Shri Ramdas came up with the idea of waste management at the source level and decided to segregate plastic waste into recyclable and non-recyclable categories. Plastic carry bags of less than 50 micron thickness were in the non-recyclable category, while bottles, packaging material of food items and wrappers were to be recycled for further usage. Local self-help groups were roped in to produce paper bags and some awareness campaigns were organized

How does the legally established gender quota in local self-government bodies affect the level of representation of women in power? How does the representation of women in power increase effective political participation? Previous studies were devoted to studying the consequences of gender quotas in the authorities and management, but the issue of the model of gender political participation remained neglected. The introduction of gender quotas as a mechanism for ensuring equal rights and opportunities for women in politics and the decision-making process increases women’s political participation and political leadership. The success or failure of planning and decision-making largely depends on the level of political participation. The issues of this work correspond to Goal 5 of Sustainable Development, which provides equal opportunities for women’s leadership at all levels of decision-making in political, economic and public life. The paper analyzes the representation of women in the authorities and management in different regions of the world. The study’s main goal is to determine the relationship between the representation of women in rural local self-government bodies and the consequences of this representation. The data sources were the results of local elections, reports of government ministries and agencies, United Nations reports on gender equality and the empowerment of women, as well as surveys of women representatives of political power in three Indian states (Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra ) — state election data analyzed over the past three decades. The results of this study show that the level of female representation increases annually, although this is not entirely related to political participation. Women’s electoral participation indicates that despite growing women’s participation in local elections, the expression remains unchanged within the established gender quota of 33 to 50 percent. Addressing the gender imbalance in the political environment of three states in India is a result of the introduction and enforcement of gender quotas in politics. The results of this study have practical value for local self-government bodies when developing state gender policy
