Dynamics of Logamediate and Intermediate Scenarios in the Dark Energy Filled Universe
We have considered a model of two component mixture i.e., mixture of
Chaplygin gas and barotropic fluid with tachyonic field. In the case, when they
have no interaction then both of them retain their own properties. Let us
consider an energy flow between barotropic and tachyonic fluids. In both the
cases we find the exact solutions for the tachyonic field and the tachyonic
potential and show that the tachyonic potential follows the asymptotic
behavior. We have considered an interaction between these two fluids by
introducing a coupling term. Finally, we have considered a model of three
component mixture i.e., mixture of tachyonic field, Chaplygin gas and
barotropic fluid with or without interaction. The coupling functions decays
with time indicating a strong energy flow at the initial period and weak stable
interaction at later stage. To keep the observational support of recent
acceleration we have considered two particular forms (i) Logamediate Scenario
and (ii) Intermediate Scenario, of evolution of the Universe. We have examined
the natures of the recent developed statefinder parameters and slow-roll
parameters in both scenarios with and without interactions in whole evolution
of the universe.Comment: 28 pages, 20 figure
The Mixmaster Universe in Five Dimensions
We consider a five dimensional vacuum cosmology with Bianchi type-IX spatial
geometry and an extra non-compact coordinate. Finding a new class of solutions,
we examine and rule out the possibility of deterministic chaos. We interpret
this result within the context of induced matter theory.Comment: 13 page
Inflationary Models with Logarithmic Potentials
We examine inflationary universe models driven by scalar fields with
logarithmic potentials of the form .
Combining the slow-roll approximation with asymptotic techniques, we identify
regions of the potential where inflation may occur and obtain analytic
expressions for the evolution of the field and the metric in these cases. We
construct a family of exact solutions to the equations of motion with
potentials resembling the above form and demonstrate their inflationary nature;
deflationary and conflationary cosmological behaviours are also defined and
identified. Finally, a computation of scalar density and tensor gravitational
perturbations produced by the model is presented.Comment: 21 Pages + 4 Figures; compressed, tarred, uuencoded PostScrip
Higher Dimensional Cosmology with Some Dark Energy Models in Emergent, Logamediate and Intermediate Scenarios of the Universe
We have considered N-dimensional Einstein field equations in which
four-dimensional space-time is described by a FRW metric and that of extra
dimensions by an Euclidean metric. We have chosen the exponential forms of
scale factors a and d numbers of b in such a way that there is no singularity
for evolution of the higher dimensional Universe. We have supposed that the
Universe is filled with K-essence, Tachyonic, Normal Scalar Field and
DBI-essence. Here we have found the nature of potential of different scalar
field and graphically analyzed the potentials and the fields for three scenario
namely Emergent Scenario, Logamediate Scenario and Intermediate Scenario. Also
graphically we have depicted the geometrical parameters named statefinder
parameters and slow-roll parameters in the higher dimensional cosmology with
the above mentioned scenarios.Comment: 21 pages, 36 figure
Inhibited Production of iNOS by Murine J774 Macrophages Occurs via a phoP
Background. There are no reported data to explain how Salmonella suppress nitrite ion production in macrophages or whether this phenomenon is unique to typhoidal or non-typhoidal serovars. The aims of this study were, therefore, to investigate these phenomena. Methods. We measured survival of S. typhimurium 14028 and its phoP mutant in murine J774 macrophages, cultured with or without interferon gamma. We compared expression of inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) mRNA and protein, and nitrite ion production and also examined binding of nuclear factor B (NFB) and activator protein 1 (AP-1) to macrophage DNA. Results. S. typhimurium 14028 inhibited binding of NFB and AP-1 to DNA in murine J774. A macrophages via an intact phoP regulon. This correlated with increased survival and reduced iNOS expression. Suppression of NFB activity was ameliorated in macrophages cultured with IFN-γ and this correlated with increased expression of iNOS mRNA and nitrite ion production, although IFN-γ had no effect on AP-1/DNA interaction. We show, that with one exception, suppression of iNOS is unique to typhoidal serovars. Conclusion. S. typhimurium inhibit NFB and AP-1 interaction with macrophage DNA via the PhoP regulon, this reduces nitrite ion production and is principally associated with typhoidal serovars
Emergent Universe with Exotic Matter
A general framework for an emergent universe scenario has been given which
makes use of an equation of state. The general features of the model have also
been studied and possible primordial composition of the universe have been
suggested.Comment: 11 pages, no fi
Complete genome sequences of seven Vibrio cholerae phages isolated in China
The complete genome sequences of seven closely related Vibrio cholerae phages isolated from environmental sites in southeastern China are reported here. Phages QH, CJY, H1, H2, H3, J2, and J3 are members of the Podoviridae family and are highly similar to the previously sequenced Vibrio phages VP2, VP5, and phiVC8
The Behaviour Of Cosmological Models With Varying-G
We provide a detailed analysis of Friedmann-Robertson-Walker universes in a
wide range of scalar-tensor theories of gravity. We apply solution-generating
methods to three parametrised classes of scalar-tensor theory which lead
naturally to general relativity in the weak-field limit. We restrict the
parameters which specify these theories by the requirements imposed by the
weak-field tests of gravitation theories in the solar system and by the
requirement that viable cosmological solutions be obtained. We construct a
range of exact solutions for open, closed, and flat isotropic universes
containing matter with equation of state and in vacuum.
We study the range of early and late-time behaviours displayed, examine when
there is a `bounce' at early times, and expansion maxima in closed models.Comment: 58 pages LaTeX, 6 postscript figures, uses eps
The Behavior of Kasner Cosmologies with Induced Matter
We extend the induced matter model, previously applied to a variety of
isotropic cases, to a generalization of Bianchi type-I anisotropic cosmologies.
The induced matter model is a 5D Kaluza-Klein approach in which assumptions of
compactness are relaxed for the fifth coordinate, leading to extra geometric
terms. One interpretation of these extra terms is to identify them as an
``induced matter'' contribution to the stress-energy tensor. In similar spirit,
we construct a five dimensional metric in which the spatial slices possess
Bianchi type-I geometry. We find a set of solutions for the five dimensional
Einstein equations, and determine the pressure and density of induced matter.
We comment on the long-term dynamics of the model, showing that the assumption
of positive density leads to the contraction over time of the fifth scale
factor.Comment: 14 page
