Effect of Flavonoids in Preventing Breast Cancer: A Review

    Get PDF
Epidemiological research has found a wide range of environmental and dietary risk factors for different cancers nowadays. The four most prevalent cancers— breast, colorectal, lung, and prostate—have all been linked to lifestyle factors in affluent nations. Flavonoids are a significant group of phenolic plant compounds made up of derivatives of 2-phenyl-benzopyrone. Flavonoids, foods such as fruits, vegetables, cereals, bark, roots, stems, flowers, tea, and wine include a group of chemical compounds with different phenolic structures. There are currently efforts being made to separate the purported flavonoids from the other components because these natural chemicals have numerous beneficial health effects. The various sources of flavonoids, their subclasses, and how they aid in the prevention of breast cancer will be outlined in this review article

Keyword Extraction and Analysis from Free-form Text

Log files and reports describing outages and bugs include a number of free-form text fields that include crucial information about the outages or bugs. However, such information may often be lost because it does not have a defined structure. For such information to become useful, developers often manually label the data to find patterns. This is a labor intensive process. This disclosure describes natural language processing (NLP) techniques to automatically extract and store relevant structured information from free-form text fields. Such information, once in structured format, can be used to analyze the data and identify trends. Free-form information is recast in structured format, and insights obtained therefrom can be used to analyze the data and to identify trends such as common types of bugs, affected users, critical components or binaries, etc

THERAPEUTIC AND PREVENTIVE ROLE OF NUTRACEUTICALS AND PRODUCTION OF VITAMINS & LOW-CALORIE SUGARS FROM FOOD-GRADE MICROORGANISMS AS NUTRACEUTICALS

    Get PDF
Nutraceuticals may influence number of  disease conditions and many molecular pathways, as well as hundreds of proteins and genes. They frequently influence multiple molecular pathways. The adverse effects of some pharmaceutical therapies and the rise in antibiotic resistance have sparked interest in nutraceutical substances as an alternative therapeutic and preventative approach. They also have the advantage of being more widely available and reasonably priced. Numerous studies have definitely shown how beneficial dietary components are for immune system functions. These include enhancing the mechanism for responding to infections, bolstering immunomodulatory activity, and mitigating the impact of autoimmune disorders and hypersensitivity. Additionally, it has been shown that nutraceuticals have lipid-lowering, anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, and antioxidant properties. In this review article, we will discuss about the role of microorganisms derived nutraceuticals in human health

On Data Complexity of Distinguishing Attacks vs. Message Recovery Attacks on Stream Ciphers

We revisit the different approaches used in the literature to estimate the data complexity of distinguishing attacks on stream ciphers and analyze their inter-relationships. In the process, we formally argue which approach is applicable (or not applicable) in what scenario. To our knowledge, this is the first kind of such an exposition. We also perform a rigorous statistical analysis of the message recovery attack that exploits a distinguisher and show that in practice there is a significant gap between the data complexities of a message recovery attack and the underlying distinguishing attack. This gap is not necessarily determined by a constant factor as a function of the false positive and negative rate, as one would expect. Rather this gap is also a function of the number of samples of the distinguishing attack. We perform a case study on RC4 stream cipher to demonstrate that the typical complexities for message recovery attack inferred in the literature are but under-estimates and the actual estimates are quite larger

Umbilical discharge - An extremely rare presentation

Umbilical discharge and dermoid cyst of ovary are quiet commonly encountered problems in the outpatient departments. However, dermoid cyst presenting as a cause of umbilical discharge is extremely rare, and we could find only one case reported in literature so far. A 20-year-old lady presented with painful umbilical swelling and purulent discharge from umbilicus for the last 2 months. A 1 cm×2 cm sprouting granulation tissue with purulent discharge was found at the umbilicus with surrounding erythema. The dilemma in diagnosis was not resolved with routine investigations and imaging studies. On surgical exploration, a fistulous tract was found extending from the umbilicus to the enlarged right ovary. The diagnosis of benign teratoma of ovary with sinus tract up to umbilicus was made on histopathology. The rarity of this case makes its reporting further relevant, considering the differential diagnosis of umbilical discharge or presentations of dermoid cyst of ovary
