    Cross-Drive Analysis (CDA) is a technique designed to allow an investigator to “simultaneously consider information from across a corpus of many data sources”. Existing approaches include multi-drive correlation using text searching, e.g. email addresses, message IDs, credit card numbers or social security numbers. Such techniques have the potential to identify drives of interest from a large set, provide additional information about events that occurred on a single disk, and potentially determine social network membership. Another analysis technique that has significantly advanced in recent years is the use of timelines. Tools currently exist that can extract dates and times from the file system metadata (i.e. MACE times) and also examine the content of certain file types and extract metadata from within. This approach provides a great deal of data that can assist with an investigation, but also compounds the problem of having too much data to examine. A recent paper adds an additional timeline analysis capability, by automatically producing a high-level summary of the activity on a computer system, by combining sets of low-level events into high-level events, for example reducing a setupapi event and several events from the Windows Registry to a single event of ‘a USB stick was connected’. This paper provides an investigation into the extent to which events in such a high-level timeline have the properties suitable to assist with Cross-Drive Analysis. The paper provides several examples that use timelines generated from multiple disk images, including USB stick connections, Skype calls, and access to files on a memory card

    Experimental results are presented which tend to validate a previously developed theory of sound production in the human lung over a particular Reynolds number range. In addition, a new, presently nonunderstood, phenomenon was observed at higher Reynolds number. These results, which show how sound generation in the lung depends upon the physiologically important variables of volume flow rate and bronchial diameter, have potentially important application in noninvasive lung examination and the diagnosis of lung disease

    A number of high aspect ratio supercritical wings in combination with a representative wide body type fuselage were tested in the Langley 8 foot transonic pressure tunnel. The wing parameters investigated include aspect ratio, sweep, thickness to chord ratio, and camber. Subsequent to these initial series of tests, a particular wing configuration was selected for further study and development. Tests on the selected wing involved the incorporation of a larger inboard trailing edge extension, an inboard leading edge extension, and flow through nacelles. Range factors for the various supercritical wing configurations are compared with those for a reference wide body transport configuration

Tests were conducted on a semispan model with an unswept, untapered wing, with and without a wingtip-mounted vortex turbine. Three sets of turbine blades were tested to determine the effect of airfoil section shape and planform.     As part of a propulsion/airframe integration program, tests were conducted in the Langley 16-Foot Transonic Tunnel to determine the longitudinal aerodynamic effects of installing flow through engine nacelles in the aft underwing position of a high wing transonic transfer airplane. Mixed flow nacelles with circular and D-shaped inlets were tested at free stream Mach numbers from 0.70 to 0.85 and angles of attack from -2.5 deg to 4.0 deg. The aerodynamic effects of installing antishock bodies on the wing and nacelle upper surfaces as a means of attaching and supporting nacelles in an extreme aft position were investigated

    A set of definitions for deterministic parameter identification ability were proposed. Deterministic parameter identificability properties are presented based on four system characteristics: direct parameter recoverability, properties of the system transfer function, properties of output distinguishability, and uniqueness properties of a quadratic cost functional. Stochastic parameter identifiability was defined in terms of the existence of an estimation sequence for the unknown parameters which is consistent in probability. Stochastic parameter identifiability properties are presented based on the following characteristics: convergence properties of the maximum likelihood estimate, properties of the joint probability density functions of the observations, and properties of the information matrix
