Dentro de los procesos de democratización y transparencia que el gobierno nacional ha venido implementando con el fin de hacer más participativa a la ciudadanía y las partes interesadas, se analizará qué tan pertinentes han sido estos espacios y su aplicación por parte de la ciudadanía. De la misma manera, se pretende reflexionar sobre la importancia de afianzar estos espacios a nivel cultural en los servidores públicos. El voto es el principal mecanismo de participación que tiene la sociedad colombiana con el fin de elegir y/o ser elegido y propender por el cumplimiento de las políticas públicas para el mejoramiento de la calidad de vida de los ciudadanos, pero ¿hasta dónde la población es consciente de esa responsabilidad? Igualmente existen otros mecanismos de participación ciudadana como son: el derecho de petición, la audiencia pública, la consulta previa, la acción popular, la acción de tutela, entre otros; pero surge la inquietud sobre si son utilizados de manera efectiva, y si las instituciones públicas han facilitado su implementación. Para contrarrestar esta falta de interés de las entidades de permitir el control social a su gestión, se requiere investigar y exponer los diferentes mecanismos que a la fecha se han identificado y normalizado en el país, comparar su efectividad y que se conviertan en una herramienta para mejorar la gestión pública, la transparencia y la cultura de la rendición de cuentas. Así mismo, facilitar al ciudadano la aplicación y exigibilidad de los mismos.Within the democratization and transparency processes to improve the participation of citizens and stakeholders that the Colombian government has been implementing along these years, we will discussed in this document, how relevant are these initiatives and their application by the entire state.
