Fortalecimiento de los procesos de gestión ambiental en la empresa social del estado E.S.E. Hospital Santa Mónica

El presente documento contiene el desarrollo de un proceso académico que se realizó en la Empresa Social del Estado Hospital Santa Mónica, ubicada en el municipio de Dosquebradas en el departamento de Risaralda, Colombia, durante el primer semestre del año 2010. Se inició determinando la situación actual del Hospital frente a las obligaciones legales vigentes en cuanto a los aspectos de interés ambiental, por lo cual, mediante revisión documental se realizó la identificación del marco legal ambiental consultando la normatividad internacional y nacional aplicable, pasando después a la revisión de los planes ambientales del Hospital con lo que se logró determinar el nivel de ejecución de los mismos. Teniendo este primer acercamiento a los procesos que se desarrollan en el Hospital se procedió a apoyar, como practicantes de Administración Ambiental bajo la supervisión del Asesor en Salud Ocupacional del Hospital, las actividades ambientales que durante ese periodo adelantaba la Institución, desarrollando un trabajo en conjunto con el Grupo Administrativo de Gestión Ambiental y Sanitaria -GAGAS-. Finalmente, se buscó llegar a la realización de actividades que propendieron al mejoramiento del proceso de Gestión Ambiental de la Institución, no solo como respuesta a las no conformidades generadas por la Autoridad Ambiental sino como un compromiso institucional con la salud y el medio ambiente.This document contains the academic development of a process performed in the State Social Enterprise Santa Monica Hospital, located in the municipality of Dosquebradas, in the department of Risaralda, Colombia, during the first semester of 2010. Firstly, it began determining the Hospital´s current status compared with existing legal obligations regarding the issues of environmental concern, therefore, through literature review the environmental legal framework was identified consulting the international norms and national legislation, then, the Hospital´s environmental plans was used to determine the level of its implementation. With the result of this approach to the Santa Monica Hospital processes, the study next to support, as practitioners of Environmental Management under supervision of the Occupational Health Advisor, the environmental activities that were conducted by the institution. That support was developed with a help of the Group Administrative Environmental Management and Health GAEGH. Predictive model of pheochromocytoma based on the imaging features of the adrenal tumours.

The purpose of our study was to develop a predictive model to rule out pheochromocytoma among adrenal tumours, based on unenhanced computed tomography (CT) and/or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) features. We performed a retrospective multicentre study of 1131 patients presenting with adrenal lesions including 163 subjects with histological confirmation of pheochromocytoma (PHEO), and 968 patients showing no clinical suspicion of pheochromocytoma in whom plasma and/or urinary metanephrines and/or catecholamines were within reference ranges (non-PHEO).
