Refugees, trauma and adversity-activated development
The nature of the refugee phenomenon is examined and the position of mental health professionals is located in relation to it. The various uses of the word 'trauma' are explored and its application to the refugee context is examined. It is proposed that refugees' response to adversity is not limited to being traumatized but includes resilience and Adversity-Activated Development (AAD). Particular emphasis is given to the distinction between resilience and AAD. The usefulness of the 'Trauma Grid' in the therapeutic process with refugees is also discussed. The Trauma Grid avoids global impressions and enables a more comprehensive and systematic way of identifying the individual refugee's functioning in the context of different levels, i.e. individual, family, community and society/culture. Finally, I discuss implications for therapeutic work with refugees
Exact ground states for the four-electron problem in a Hubbard ladder
The exact ground state of four electrons in an arbitrary large two leg
Hubbard ladder is deduced from nine analytic and explicit linear equations. The
used procedure is described, and the properties of the ground state are
analyzed. The method is based on the construction in r-space of the different
type of orthogonal basis wave vectors which span the subspace of the Hilbert
space containing the ground state. In order to do this, we start from the
possible microconfigurations of the four particles within the system. These
microconfigurations are then rotated, translated and spin-reversed in order to
build up the basis vectors of the problem. A closed system of nine analytic
linear equations is obtained whose secular equation, by its minimum energy
solution, provides the ground state energy and the ground state wave function

Complete off-shell effects in top quark pair hadroproduction with leptonic decay at next-to-leading order
Results for next-to-leading order QCD corrections to the pp(p\bar{p}) -> t
\bar{t} -> W^+W^- b\bar{b} -> e^{+} \nu_{e} \mu^{-} \bar{\nu}_{\mu} b \bar{b}
+X processes with complete off-shell effects are presented for the first time.
Double-, single- and non-resonant top contributions of the order
{\cal{O}}(\alpha_{s}^3 \alpha^4) are consistently taken into account, which
requires the introduction of a complex-mass scheme for unstable top quarks.
Moreover, the intermediate W bosons are treated off-shell. Comparison to the
narrow width approximation for top quarks, where non-factorizable corrections
are not accounted for is performed. Besides the total cross section and its
scale dependence, several differential distributions at the TeVatron run II and
the LHC are given. In case of the TeVatron the forward-backward asymmetry of
the top is recalculated afresh. With inclusive selection cuts, the
forward-backward asymmetry amounts to A^{t}_{FB} = 0.051 +/- 0.0013.
Furthermore, the corrections with respect to leading order are positive and of
the order 2.3% for the TeVatron and 47% for the LHC. A study of the scale
dependence of our NLO predictions indicates that the residual theoretical
uncertainty due to higher order corrections is 8% for the TeVatron and 9% for

Risk factors for hospital admission with RSV bronchiolitis in England: a population-based birth cohort study.
OBJECTIVE: To examine the timing and duration of RSV bronchiolitis hospital admission among term and preterm infants in England and to identify risk factors for bronchiolitis admission.
DESIGN: A population-based birth cohort with follow-up to age 1 year, using the Hospital Episode Statistics database. SETTING: 71 hospitals across England.
PARTICIPANTS: We identified 296618 individual birth records from 2007/08 and linked to subsequent hospital admission records during the first year of life.
RESULTS: In our cohort there were 7189 hospital admissions with a diagnosis of bronchiolitis, 24.2 admissions per 1000 infants under 1 year (95%CI 23.7-24.8), of which 15% (1050/7189) were born preterm (47.3 bronchiolitis admissions per 1000 preterm infants (95% CI 44.4-50.2)). The peak age group for bronchiolitis admissions was infants aged 1 month and the median was age 120 days (IQR = 61-209 days). The median length of stay was 1 day (IQR = 0-3). The relative risk (RR) of a bronchiolitis admission was higher among infants with known risk factors for severe RSV infection, including those born preterm (RR = 1.9, 95% CI 1.8-2.0) compared with infants born at term. Other conditions also significantly increased risk of bronchiolitis admission, including Down's syndrome (RR = 2.5, 95% CI 1.7-3.7) and cerebral palsy (RR = 2.4, 95% CI 1.5-4.0).
CONCLUSIONS: Most (85%) of the infants who are admitted to hospital with bronchiolitis in England are born at term, with no known predisposing risk factors for severe RSV infection, although risk of admission is higher in known risk groups. The early age of bronchiolitis admissions has important implications for the potential impact and timing of future active and passive immunisations. More research is needed to explain why babies born with Down's syndrome and cerebral palsy are also at higher risk of hospital admission with RSV bronchiolitis
Gas gangrene and osteomyelitis of the foot in a diabetic patient treated with tea tree oil
Diabetic foot wounds represent a class of chronic non-healing wounds that can lead to the development of soft tissue infections and osteomyelitis. We reviewed the case of a 44-year-old female with a diabetic foot wound who developed gas gangrene while treating her wound with tea tree oil, a naturally derived antibiotic agent. This case report includes images that represent clinical examination and x-ray findings of a patient who required broad-spectrum antibiotics and emergent surgical consultation. Emergency Department (ED) detection of these complications may prevent loss of life or limb in these patients
Multi-gluon helicity amplitudes with one off-shell leg within high energy factorization
Basing on the Slavnov-Taylor identities, we derive a new prescription to
obtain gauge invariant tree-level scattering amplitudes for the process g*g->Ng
within high energy factorization. Using the helicity method, we check the
formalism up to several final state gluons, and we present analytical formulas
for the the helicity amplitudes for N=2. We also compare the method with

Electroweak Physics
The results of high precision weak neutral current (WNC), Z-pole, and high
energy collider electroweak experiments have been the primary prediction and
test of electroweak unification. The electroweak program is briefly reviewed
from a historical perspective. Current changes, anomalies, and things to watch
are summarized, and the implications for the standard model and beyond

Feynman rules for the rational part of the Electroweak 1-loop amplitudes
We present the complete set of Feynman rules producing the rational terms of
kind R_2 needed to perform any 1-loop calculation in the Electroweak Standard
Model. Our results are given both in the 't Hooft-Veltman and in the Four
Dimensional Helicity regularization schemes. We also verified, by using both
the 't Hooft-Feynman gauge and the Background Field Method, a huge set of Ward
identities -up to 4-points- for the complete rational part of the Electroweak
amplitudes. This provides a stringent check of our results and, as a
by-product, an explicit test of the gauge invariance of the Four Dimensional
Helicity regularization scheme in the complete Standard Model at 1-loop. The
formulae presented in this paper provide the last missing piece for completely
automatizing, in the framework of the OPP method, the 1-loop calculations in
the SU(3) X SU(2) X U(1) Standard Model.Comment: Many thanks to Huasheng Shao for having recomputed, independently of

Worldvolume Superalgebra Of BLG Theory With Nambu-Poisson Structure
Recently it was proposed that the Bagger-Lambert-Gustavsson theory with
Nambu-Poisson structure describes an M5-brane in a three-form flux background.
In this paper we investigate the superalgebra associated with this theory. We
derive the central charges corresponding to M5-brane solitons in 3-form
backgrounds. We also show that double dimensional reduction of the superalgebra
gives rise to the Poisson bracket terms of a non-commutative D4-brane
superalgebra. We provide interpretations of the D4-brane charges in terms of

Classical integrability and quantum aspects of the AdS(3) x S(3) x S(3) x S(1) superstring
In this paper we continue the investigation of aspects of integrability of
the type IIA AdS(3) x S(3) x S(3) x S(1) and AdS(3) x S(3) x T(4) superstrings.
By constructing a one parameter family of flat connections we prove that the
Green-Schwarz string is classically integrable, at least to quadratic order in
fermions, without fixing the kappa-symmetry. We then compare the quantum
dispersion relation, fixed by integrability up to an unknown interpolating
function h(lambda), to explicit one-loop calculations on the string worldsheet.
For AdS(3) x S(3) x S(3) x S(1) the spectrum contains heavy, as well as light
and massless modes, and we find that the one-loop contribution differs
depending on how we treat these modes showing that similar regularization
ambiguities as appeared in AdS(4)/CFT(3) occur also here.Comment: 29 pages; v2: updated references and acknowledgmen
