On certain new notion of order Cauchy sequences, continuity in (l)-group

[EN] In this paper, we introduce the notions of order quasi-Cauchy sequences, downward and upward order quasi-Cauchy sequences, order half Cauchy sequences. Next we consider an associated idea of continuity namely, ward order continuous functions [2] and investigate certain interesting results. The entire investigation is performed in (l)-group setting to extend the recent results in [5, 6].Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, HRDG, IndiaPal, SK.; Chakraborty, S. (2022). Fast loading of a cold mixture of Sodium and Potassium atoms from compact and versatile cold atomic beam sources

We present the design, implementation and detailed experimental characterization of two-dimensional Magneto-optical traps (MOT) of bosonic 23^{23}Na and 39^{39}K atoms for loading the cold atomic mixture in a dual-species 3DMOT with a large number of atoms. We report our various measurements pertaining to the characterisation of the two 2D+^+MOTs via the capture rate in the 3DMOT and also present the optimised parameters for the best performance of the system of the cold atomic mixture. In the optimised condition, we capture more than 3×10103 \times 10^{10} 39^{39}K atoms and 5.8×1085.8 \times 10^8 23^{23}Na atoms in the 3DMOT simultaneously from the individual 2D+^+MOTs with the capture rate of 5×10105 \times 10^{10} atoms/sec and 3.5×1083.5 \times 10^8 atoms/sec for 39^{39}K and 23^{23}Na, respectively. We also demonstrate improvements of more than a factor of 5 in the capture rate into the 3DMOT from the cold atomic sources when a relatively high-power ultra-violet light is used to cause light-induced atomic desorption (LIAD) in the 2D+^+MOT glass cells. The cold atomic mixture would be useful for further experiments on Quantum simulation with ultra-cold quantum mixtures in optical potentials

SS 433: Results of a Recent Multi-wavelength Campaign

We conducted a multi-wavelength campaign in September-October, 2002, to observe SS 433. We used 45 meter sized 30 dishes of Giant Meter Radio Telescope (GMRT) for radio observation, 1.2 meter Physical Research Laboratory Infra-red telescope at Mt Abu for IR, 1 meter Telescope at the State Observatory, Nainital for Optical photometry, 2.3 meter optical telescope at the Vainu Bappu observatory for spectrum and Rossi X-ray Timing Explorer (RXTE) Target of Opportunity (TOO) observation for X-ray observations. We find sharp variations in intensity in time-scales of a few minutes in X-rays, IR and radio wavelengths. Differential photometry at the IR observation clearly indicated significant intrinsic variations in short time scales of minutes throughout the campaign. Combining results of these wavelengths, we find a signature of delay of about two days between IR and Radio. The X-ray spectrum yielded double Fe line profiles which corresponded to red and blue components of the relativistic jet. We also present the broadband spectrum averaged over the campaign duration.Comment: 17 pages 10 figures MNRAS (submitted

Kalman filter and variants for estimation in 2DOF serial flexible link and joint using fractional order PID controller

Robotic manipulators have been widely used in industries, mainly to move tools into different specific positions. Thus, it has become necessary to have accurate knowledge about the tool position using forward kinematics after accessing the angular locations of limbs. This paper presents a simulation study in which an encoder attached to the limbs gathers information about the angular positions. The measured angles are applied to the Kalman Filter (KF) and its variants for state estimation. This work focuses on the use of fractional order controllers with a Two Degree of Freedom Serial Flexible Links (2DSFL) and Two Degree of Freedom Serial Flexible Joint (2DSFJ) and undertakes simulations with noise and a square wave as input. The fractional order controllers fit better with the system properties than integer order controllers. The KF and its variants use an unknown and assumed process and measurement noise matrices to predict the actual data. An optimisation problem is proposed to achieve reasonable estimations with the updated covariance matrices.Web of Science1115art. no. 669

Serum malondialdehyde in different stages of chronic renal disorder

Background: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a widespread public health problem, which may have several adverse consequences such as renal failure, cardiovascular disease, and premature death. Kidney-related pathologies have increasing prevalence rates, produce a considerable financial burden, and are characterized by elevated levels of oxidative stress (OS). Several markers emerged as well-suited indicators of OS such as malondialdehyde (MDA) and lipid hydroperoxides. The reduced activities of antioxidant enzymes status and increased production of MDA in the CKD patients confirm the presence of OS. The alteration in antioxidant status and MDA in CKD patients supports the role of OS in CKD patient. Aims and Objectives: The aim of the study was to compare serum MDA in different stages of CKD with that of control. It is well known that inflammation has an important role in CKD and MDA is an oxidant biomarker. Materials and Methods: This was a cross-sectional study having 400 participants with 300 known cases of CKD and 100 healthy controls. Serum MDA levels were measured by thiobarbituric acid assay. Results: There was a significant difference between the groups regarding the MDA values (P<0.001) with that of control. The mean MDA value in Stage III (5.64±1.93 Umol/L), Stage IV (6.14±1.584 Umol/L), and Stage V (10.761±3.347 U moL/L) of CKD patients were high in comparison to healthy control (1.88±0.181 U mol/L). Conclusion: We concluded that MDA is a useful biomarker in CKD patients. The correlations of serum MDA among different stages of CKD patients were significant. Larger studies focused on CKD severity and antioxidant/oxidant biomarkers are required
