Avaliação de genótipos de milho no município de Brasiléia-Acre.

A cultura do milho no município de Brasiléia, assume significa tiva relevância sócio-econômica, contribuindo com 20,65% na produção global do Estado (CEPA/1988). Além de ser utilizado na alimentação humana e ração animal, o excedente da produção tem sido comercializado no mercado local, em Rio Branco e Cobija, cidade frobteiriça (Bolivia). A cultura apresenta problemas diversos: cultivares pouco produtivas, cultivo em consorcio, grandes espaçamentos entre plantas, cultivares de grande porte, índices elevados de acamamento, doenças, ocorrência de baixa produtividade. Estes problemas têm constituído em fatores limitantes a oferta de milho ao mercado, além de resultar no baixo retorno econômico da pequena produção. Com o objetivo de selecionar cultivares mais produtivas e resistentes aos principais problemas da região, a UEPAE de Rio Branco vem desenvolvendo trabalhos no Núcleo de Pesquisa -Quixadá, localizado em Brasiléia.bitstream/item/117388/1/1158.pd

Conteúdo fossilífero e interpretação paleodeposicional da Formação Alcobaça (Jurássico Superior) na Praia da Gralha (São Martinho do Porto, Portugal)

ABSTRACT: This work aims to carry out a paleontological description of an outcropping Upper Jurassic 65 meters thick sedimentary succession at Gralha Beach, North of São Martinho do Porto in the Lusitanian Basin, that includes mainly reddish to yellowish fine-grained siliciclastics and some interbedded marly layers belonging to the Alcobaça Formation. Detailed facies classification and palaeontological analysis (Micropalaeontology and Ichnology), integrated with Petrography, Calcimetry and X-Ray Diffraction, showed a high-frequency cyclicity and pointed to a deposition in low to very - low energy shallow marine conditions, in a gently dipping, oligotrophic open lagoon linked to a muddy coastal wetland area. This is corroborated by the characteristics of microfossils (calcareous nannofossils, Foraminifera, Ostracoda and Charophyta), Bivalvia, Gastropoda and Echinoderma fragments, Thalassinoides, Ophiomorpha and Rhizocorallium.RESUMO: Este trabalho pretende realizar uma descrição paleontológica de uma sucessão sedimentar do Jurássico Superior da Bacia Lusitânica, com 65 metros de espessura, que aflora na Praia da Gralha (Norte de São Martinho do Porto). Esta pertence à Formação Alcobaça e inclui, principalmente, rochas siliciclásticas de grão fino e coloração avermelhada a amarelada, intercaladas com alguns níveis de argilito, margas e calcários. A integração da classificação das fácies e a análise paleontológica (Micropaleontologia e Icnologia) com petrografia, calcimetria e difração de Raio – X, demonstrou uma ciclicidade de alta frequência e aponta para uma deposição em condições de ambiente marinho raso de baixa a muito baixa energia, num meio de baixo pendor, oligotrófico, de laguna aberta, ligado com uma região costeira pantanosa. Cosmic String in Scalar-Tensor Gravity

The gravitational properties of a local cosmic string in the framework of scalar-tensor gravity are examined. We find the metric in the weak-field approximation and we show that, contrary to the General Relativity case, the cosmic string in scalar-tensor gravitation exerces a force on non-relativistic, neutral test particle. This force is proportional to the derivative of the conformal factor $A^{2}(\phi)$ and it is always attractive. Moreover, this force could have played an important role at the Early Universe, although nowadays it can be neglegible. It is also shown that the angular separation $\delta\varphi$ remains unaltered for scalar-tensor cosmic strings.Comment: 15 pages, LATEX, no figure

Jurisdiction shopping and foreign location choice: The role of market and nonmarket experience in the European solar energy industry

Several countries provide policy support to specific sectors in order to facilitate industry transitions. While industry-support policies stimulate the growth of their target sectors, little is known about how such policies engender heterogeneous international strategies. In this article, we investigate how industry-support policies influence foreign location choices. We argue that firms engage in jurisdiction shopping, choosing to invest in countries with more generous policy support, but that this tendency varies markedly across firms. Specifically, we suggest that firms’ nonmarket experience exacerbates the effect of policy support on location choice, whereas market experience has less of an impact. Further, we propose that some firms view generous policies more skeptically than others, depending on the nature of their nonmarket experience. We test and find support for our predictions using a longitudinal dataset of foreign investments of firms entering the solar energy industry in the European Union. Our findings indicate that supportive policies stimulate the energy transition, attracting in particular foreign entrants diversifying into renewables or having more policy experience. At the same time, they suggest that adverse policy changes in one country affect how firms assess policies in other countries, highlighting the need for policy coordination at a supranational level
