M a rtina Franca (M.F.) donkeys is ab reed that, like other donkey bre e d s ,is considered under threat of extinction.This research has been thereforedesigned to better understand theestrous cycle of M.F. donkey in orderto be able to apply biotechnologiesfor the safeguard of this endangere dspecies. The mean length of estro u scycle was 23,23±0,57 days(6,51±0,68 days estrus phase and16,77±1,22 days diestrus phase). Themean diameter of the dominant folliclesobserved in the first day of estruswas 29,1±0,04 mm, re a c h i n g43,7±0,52 mm few hour before theovulation.[...
