The entropy of the noncommutative acoustic black hole based on generalized uncertainty principle

In this paper we investigate statistical entropy of a 3-dimensional rotating acoustic black hole based on generalized uncertainty principle. In our results we obtain an area entropy and a correction term associated with the noncommutative acoustic black hole when $\lambda$ introduced in the generalized uncertainty principle takes a specific value. However, in this method, it is not needed to introduce the ultraviolet cut-off and divergences are eliminated. Empirical validation of the team work engagement construct

This article presents an empirical validation of the construct of team work engagement. Two different samples were used to test the hypotheses. Results from convergent and discriminant validity are presented as well as confirmatory factor analysis that explores the construct’s factor structure. Results support the idea that team- and individual-level work engagement are two different, yet related, constructs. However, data do not support the factorial invariance across levels: At the team level, the 1-factor structure, and not the 3-factor one, seems to be the one that best fits the data. New insights about meridional circulation dynamics from 3D MHD global simulations of solar convection and dynamo action

The solar meridional circulation is a "slow", large scale flow that transports magnetic field and plasma throughout the convection zone in the (r, theta) plane and plays a crucial role in controlling the magnetic cycle solutions presented by flux transport dynamo models. Observations indicate that this flow speed varies in anti-phase with the solar cycle at the solar surface. A possible explanation for the source of this variation is based on the fact that inflows into active regions alter the global surface pattern of the meridional circulation. In this work we examine the meridional circulation profile that emerges from a 3D global simulation of the solar convection zone, and its associated dynamics. We find that at the bottom of the convection zone, in the region where the toroidal magnetic field accumulates, the meridional circulation is highly modulated through the action of a magnetic torques and thus provides evidence for a new mechanism to explain the observed cyclic variations

Initial Biomass Production and Soluble Carbohydrate Partitioning of Contrasting Elephantgrass Genotypes

The initial growth and soluble carbohydrate (SC) partitioning were examined in the following classes of elephantgrass (Pennisetum purpureum Schum.) genotypes: Dwarf (Anão, Mott and Roxo); Cameroon (Cameroon, Cameroon Piracicaba and Vruckwona); Embrapa hybrids (CNPGL F27-5 and Pioneiro); Interspecific hybrids (Hexaploide 201, Mercker X 23-A and Napier X 23-A; Mercker (Mercker Comum, Mercker Pinda and Teresópolis); and Napier (E.C. Itapemirim, Mineiro and Napier). After a 60-day growing period, total, leaf, stem and root FW and DW and stem, stem base, leaf and root SC content were determined. Cameroon-class cultivars showed the highest leaf and stem DW and whole stem SC levels. Cv. Napier exhibited the highest stem base SC content, suggesting superior regrowth capability. Dwarf-class cultivars showed reduced leaf DW and low stem base SC levels, indicating poor regrowth potential. Embrapa hybrids were high on both leaf and root SC contents, and the implications of such an attribute need to be verified
