Thermodynamic properties of QCD with two flavors of Wilson-type lattice quarks

I report on a study of finite temperature QCD by the CP-PACS Collaboration toward a precise determination of the equation of state with dynamical u,d quarks. Based on a systematic simulation using improved Wilson-type quarks on lattices with temporal size Nt=4N_t=4 and 6, the energy density and pressure are calculated as functions of temperature and renormalized light quark mass in the range T/Tc0.7T/T_c \approx 0.7--2.5 and mPS/mV=0.65m_{\rm PS}/m_{\rm V} = 0.65--0.95. Results for Nt=4N_t=4 are found to contain significant scaling violations, while results for Nt=6N_t=6 are suggested to be not far from the continuum limit. On the other hand, the quark mass dependence in the EOS turned out to be small for m_{\rm PS}/m_{\rm V} \simlt 0.8.Comment: Talk presented at Statistical QCD, Aug. 26-30, 2001, Bielefeld, Germany. QCD with light Wilson quarks on fine lattices (II): DD-HMC simulations and data analysis

    Get PDF
In this second report on our recent numerical simulations of two-flavour QCD, we provide further technical details on the simulations and describe the methods we used to extract the meson masses and decay constants from the generated ensembles of gauge fields. Among the topics covered are the choice of the DD-HMC parameters, the issue of stability, autocorrelations and the statistical error analysis. Extensive data tables are included as well as a short discussion of the quark-mass dependence in partially quenched QCD, supplementing the physics analysis that was presented in the first paper in this series.Comment: TeX source, 35 pages, figures include

New results on cut-off effects in spectroscopy with the fixed point action

    Get PDF
Our study on the cut-off effects in quenched light hadron spectroscopy and pion scattering length with the fixed point action is extended by results obtained at a lattice spacing a=0.102 fm in a box of size L=1.8 fm. The cut-off effects are small, but clearly seen as the resolution is increased from a=0.153 fm to a=0.102 fm. In the quark mass region where the errors are small and under control, our results on the APE plot lie close to the extrapolated numbers of the CP-PACS Collaboration.Comment: 15 pages, 11 figures, reference correcte

Decay properties of the heavy-light mesons

We study the decay properties of a heavy-light meson. We reformulate the decay amplitudes for the heavy-light systems and find a new way to calculate decay rates. Applying this formulation, we find a new sum rule for the radiative decays of one heavy-light meson into another, H1H2+γH_1\to H_2+\gamma with various combinations of HiH_i.Comment: an invited talk at "New Frontiers in QCD 2010" held at Kyot
