A concretiza??o deste relat?rio surgiu no ?mbito da unidade curricular de Pr?tica de Ensino Supervisionada II (PES II), pela curiosidade de perceber qual a import?ncia que as crian?as de 1? Ciclo atribuem ? Educa??o F?sico-Motora. Para a participa??o neste estudo foram selecionadas 20 crian?as, divididas por g?nero e idade. A investiga??o foi desenvolvida tendo por base uma metodologia de car?ter qualitativo (entrevista) e recorrendo ? t?cnica focus group. O estudo evidencia que independentemente da faixa et?ria e do g?nero, as crian?as avaliadas t?m, no geral, uma boa perce??o do que ? a Educa??o F?sico-Motora, e conseguem facilmente identificar os benef?cios da pr?tica desportiva. Ainda se percebe que de todos os entrevistados que n?o praticam exerc?cio f?sico fora do contexto escolar mostraram vontade de faz?-lo.The Motor Physical Education has been losing "terrain" in the school calendar and it is at school that many of the students have an opportunity to get in touch with physical exercise. This report was developed under the scope of the curricular unit of Supervised Teaching Practice II (STP II), due to the curiosity to understand the perception that 1st Cycle children attribute to Motor Physical Education. Twenty children were selected to participate in this study, divided by gender and age. The research was developed based on a qualitative methodology (interview) and using the focus group technique. The study shows that regardless of age and gender, evaluated children have a good perception of what is the Motor Physical Education, and can easily identify the benefits of sports practice and also of all respondents who do not exercise outside of school showed willingness to do so

    A serious games platform for cognitive rehabilitation with preliminary evaluation

    In recent years Serious Games have evolved substantially, solving problems in diverse areas. In particular, in Cognitive Rehabilitation, Serious Games assume a relevant role. Traditional cognitive therapies are often considered repetitive and discouraging for patients and Serious Games can be used to create more dynamic rehabilitation processes, holding patients' attention throughout the process and motivating them during their road to recovery. This paper reviews Serious Games and user interfaces in rehabilitation area and details a Serious Games platform for Cognitive Rehabilitation that includes a set of features such as: natural and multimodal user interfaces and social features (competition, collaboration, and handicapping) which can contribute to augment the motivation of patients during the rehabilitation process. The web platform was tested with healthy subjects.     Revealing the last 13,500 years of environmental history from the multiproxy record of a mountain lake (Lago Enol, northern Iberian Peninsula)

A multiproxy analysis provided comprehensive information about regional humidity and temperature changes. The analysis included sedimentological descriptions, physical properties, organic carbon and carbonate content, mineralogy and geochemical composition together with biological proxies including diatom and ostracod assemblages. A detailed pollen study enabled reconstruction of variations in vegetation cover, which were interpreted in the context of climate changes and human impact. Four distinct stages were recognized for the last 13,500 years: (1) a cold and dry episode that includes the Younger Dryas event (13,500–11,600 cal. year BP); (2) a humid and warmer period characterizing the onset of the Holocene (11,600–8,700 cal. year BP); (3) a tendency toward a drier climate during the middle Holocene (8,700–4,650 cal. year BP); and (4) a return to humid conditions following landscape modification by human activity (pastoral activities, deforestation) in the late Holocene (4,650–2,200 cal. year BP).     Protein-retention expansion microscopy of cells and tissues labeled using standard fluorescent proteins and antibodies

    Expansion microscopy (ExM) enables imaging of preserved specimens with nanoscale precision on diffraction-limited instead of specialized super-resolution microscopes. ExM works by physically separating fluorescent probes after anchoring them to a swellable gel. The first ExM method did not result in the retention of native proteins in the gel and relied on custom-made reagents that are not widely available. Here we describe protein retention ExM (proExM), a variant of ExM in which proteins are anchored to the swellable gel, allowing the use of conventional fluorescently labeled antibodies and streptavidin, and fluorescent proteins. We validated and demonstrated the utility of proExM for multicolor super-resolution (~70 nm) imaging of cells and mammalian tissues on conventional microscopes.United States.
