Differential activities of glutathione s-transferase isoenzymes in strains of fasciola hepatica susceptible and resistant to triclabendazole
Fasciolosis, a parasitic zoonosis of intrahepatic location, is caused by the trematode Fasciola hepatica. Its control is mainly based on the use of the anthelminthic Triclabendazole (TCBZ). The indiscriminate use of this drug has favored the development of anthelmintic resistance. The Glutation S-Transferases (GSTs) are multifunctional enzymes involved in the detoxification of xenobiotics and endogenous compounds using conjugation with endogenous glutathione. Recently, it has been shown an active participation of this family of enzymes in the detoxification of TCBZ related to the phenomenon of resistance. In F. hepatica, eight isoenzymes of the GST are present. Since it is well known that different isoenzymes do not necessarily have the same metabolic activity, this study evaluated the cytosolic activity of mu and pi GST isoenzymes in TCBZ resistant (Sligo and Oberon strains) and TCBZ susceptible (Cullompton strains) of F. hepatica. The results obtained in this study confirm that, although both isoenzymes are involved in different processes of detoxification in F. hepatica, only the GSTmu isoenzyme is involved in the manifestation of resistance to TCBZ.Fil: Fernandez, Vanesa. Holographic Bjorken Flow at Large-D
We use gauge/gravity duality to study the dynamics of strongly coupled gauge
theories undergoing boost invariant expansion in an arbitrary number of
space-time dimensions (D). By keeping the scale of the late-time energy density
fixed, we explore the infinite-D limit and study the first few corrections to
this expansion. In agreement with other studies, we find that the large-D
dynamics are controlled by hydrodynamics and we use our computation to
constrain the leading large-D dependence of a certain combination of transport
coefficients up to 6-th order in gradients. Going beyond late time physics, we
discuss how non-hydrodynamic modes appear in the large-D expansion in the form
of a trans-series in D, identical to the non-perturbative contributions to the
gradient expansion. We discuss the consequence of this trans-series in the

Protecting mobile money customer funds in civil law jurisdictions
The provision of financial services through mobile phones is a powerful tool to foster financial inclusion, and thus economic growth, in developing countries. However, it raises important regulatory issues. Given the vulnerability of most potential customers of these services, the protection of customer funds is important. In common law countries, trust accounts are an effective response to these concerns. In civil law jurisdictions however, in the absence of trusts, protection of customer funds is more difficult. This paper identifies the theoretical and practical problems that regulators in civil law jurisdictions might face when trying to protect customer funds and explores how fiduciary contracts, mandate contracts and direct regulation might be used to achieve this goal. It offers a series of practical recommendations for policymakers in developing countries that provide a range of regulatory options that combine private law and regulation
Longitudinal Coherence in a Holographic Model of p-Pb Collisions
As a model of the longitudinal structure in heavy ion collisions, we simulate
gravitational shock wave collisions in anti-de Sitter space in which each shock
is composed of multiple constituents. We find that all constituents act
coherently, and their separation leaves no imprint on the resulting plasma,
when this separation is , with the
temperature of the plasma at the time when hydrodynamics first becomes
applicable. In particular, the center-of-mass of the plasma coincides with the
center-of-mass of all the constituents participating in the collision, as
opposed to the center-of-mass of the individual collisions. We discuss the

Tackling different aspects of drone services utilizing technologies from cross-sectional industries
Enabling autonomous and Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operation
of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) in the Very Low Level (VLL) airspace requires
further advancement of technologies such as sensing the environment or secure and reliable
communication. This paper addresses these challenges by presenting solutions developed within
the project Airborne Data Collection on Resilient System Architectures (ADACORSA). Here,
findings from cross-sectional areas such as the automotive industry are being further enhanced
to fulfill the demands of aviation, in particular for use in the UAV domain. The developed
technologies include an advanced Ethernet-based deterministic network for reliable onboard
communication, a multi-sensor architecture for sensing the spatial environment as well as a
multi-link communication gateway that provides reliable communication to the ground and a

Heavy-quark energy loss in pQCD and SYM plasmas
We consider heavy-quark energy loss and pT-broadening in a strongly-coupled
N=4 Super Yang Mills (SYM) plasma, and the problem of finite-extend matter is
addressed. When expressed in terms of the appropriate saturation momentum, one
finds identical parametric forms for the energy loss in pQCD and SYM theory,
while pT-broadening is radiation dominated in SYM theory and multiple

Stirring Strongly Coupled Plasma
We determine the energy it takes to move a test quark along a circle of
radius L with angular frequency w through the strongly coupled plasma of N=4
supersymmetric Yang-Mills (SYM) theory. We find that for most values of L and w
the energy deposited by stirring the plasma in this way is governed either by
the drag force acting on a test quark moving through the plasma in a straight
line with speed v=Lw or by the energy radiated by a quark in circular motion in
the absence of any plasma, whichever is larger. There is a continuous crossover
from the drag-dominated regime to the radiation-dominated regime. In the
crossover regime we find evidence for significant destructive interference
between energy loss due to drag and that due to radiation as if in vacuum. The
rotating quark thus serves as a model system in which the relative strength of,
and interplay between, two different mechanisms of parton energy loss is
accessible via a controlled classical gravity calculation. We close by
speculating on the implications of our results for a quark that is moving
through the plasma in a straight line while decelerating, although in this case
the classical calculation breaks down at the same value of the deceleration at
which the radiation-dominated regime sets in.Comment: 27 pages LaTex, 5 figure
Quark-Gluon Plasma - New Frontiers
As implied by organizers, this talk is not a conference summary but rather an
outline of progress/challenges/``frontiers'' of the theory. Some fundamental
questions addressed are:
Why is sQGP such a good liquid? Do we understand (de)confinement and what do
we know about ``magnetic'' objects creating it? Can we understand the AdS/CFT
predictions, from the gauge theory side? Can they be tested experimentally? Can
AdS/CFT duality help us understand rapid equilibration/entropy production? Can

Mach Cones in Quark Gluon Plasma
The experimental azimuthal dihadron distributions at RHIC show a double peak
structure in the away side ( rad.) for intermediate
particles. A variety of models have appeared trying to describe this
modification. We will review most of them, with special emphasis in the Conical
Flow scenario in which the observed shape is a consequence of the emission of
sound by a supersonic high momentum particle propagating in the Quark Gluon
