Subcellular Localization of Beta Catenin in Colorectal Non Neoplastic and Neoplastic Lesions

Loss of adenomatous polyposis coli (APC) function is typically an early event  in sporadic colorectal cancer (CRC) pathogenesis. The key tumor suppressor function of the APC  protein lies in its ability to destabilize free cytoplasmic beta catenin. This lead to the accumulation of nuclear beta catenin, and together with the DNA binding protein Tcf-4, function as a transcriptional activator. Accumulation of stabilized free  β-catenin is considered as an early event and perhaps initiating the process in intestinal tumorigenesis. Neoplastic transformation in the CRC associated chronic colitis is considered similar to the adenoma-carcinoma sequence in sporadic CRC. The distinguish feature from the CRC-related colitis is the difference in time and frequency changes. Loss of APC function, regarded as the beginning of a very common event in sporadic CRC, but the CRC associated chronic colitis generally occurs at the end of the dysplasia-carcinoma sequence. This research was conducted to determine the subcellular location of beta catenin expression in chronic colitis, colorectal adenomas and carcinomas that were evaluated by immunohistochemical staining. It can be concluded that beta-catenin is a component that plays a role in the development of the CRC and the subcellular location of beta-catenin can describe its oncogenic activity.&nbsp

: The Integration of Islamic Sciences in the Perspective of M. Amin Abdullah. Criticism on the pattern of Islamic sciences development in Indonesia, especially at the level of Islamic religious higher education, has caught the attension of many critiques. This essay tries to analytically describe M. Amin Abdullah's thought who promotes the concept of Islamic sciences integration. The writer maintains that Islamic sciences thus far, have still fragmentary in nature and have not yet interconnected with contemporary issues. As such, it is required to build the epistemology of integrated and interconnected science. The writer finds that theo-anthropocentric-integralistic epistemology of science of Amin Abdullah is developed against the backdrop of classification of science. His theory departs from the Qur'an and Sunnah, ‘Ulûm al-Dîn, al-Fikr al-Islâmy, and Dirâsah al-Islâmiyyah. Those categories of Islamic sciences are drawn by Amin Abdullah into four-layered concept mapping of spider web. Both the Land Office and the Forestry Service have authority to handle land administration. This type of authority which exists in every region has brought about conflict which has an effect on the process of regional economic development such as what happens in Padang Lawas Utara District. A claim on a tract of land by the Forestry Service consider that it is a forest area, based on the Decree of the Minister of Forestry No. 44/Menhut-II/2005 on the Indication of Forest Area in North Sumatera Province in the area of ± 3,742,120 hectares. Along with that, the Land Office also has the right to do land administration, based on the Government Regulation No. 24/1997 on Land Registration. In 2007, Land Certificate was issued in Padang Lawas Utara District. According to SK No.24/Menhut-II/2005, the land was located in forest area. In 2012, the certificate became the collateral in PT. Bank Sumut, Gunungtua Branch

PENILAIAN TERHADAP ARSITEKTUR

AbstrakPerbedaan penafsiran tentang arsitektur bukanlah sesuatu yang harus dipertanggungjawabkan, dipertentangkan dan diperdebatkan dalam mencari yang benar dan yang salah. Permasalahan ini dibahas dengan maksud untuk mengkaji nilai-nilai keindahan yang dipancarkan lewat karya-karya arsitektur dari masing-masing tafsiran tersebut.Penilaian terhadap arsitektur pada dasarnya berhubungan dengan estetika visual. Sejak zaman dahulu banyak filosof yang memikirkan tentang hakekat estetika / keindahan. Keindahan adalah unsur emosional, sesuatu perasaan terpesona yang menyenangkan pada diri kita, merupakan kesadaran yang bersifat apresiatif, suatu sensasi yang membangkitkan kekaguman dan penghargaan.Tepat atau tidak suatu suatu penilaian terhadap arsitektur harus menggunakan kaca mata yang tepat untuk dapat mendudukan karya tersebut dalam bingkai penilaian yang sesuai.Pendekatan dalam perencanaan merupakan suatu kekuatan yang mempengaruhi hasil rancangan berupa karya arsitektur. Ada dua kekuatan dalam pendekatan perencanaan yaitu, “kekuatan fisik†dan “kekuatan sosial budayaâ€, dimana kekuatan fisik adalah milik tingkatan fungsi dan teknik, sedangkan kekuatan sosial budaya adalah milik dari tingkatan bentuk. Sehingga dengan kekuatan-kekuatan yang berpengaruh terhadap rancangan inilah dapat dilihat pusatperhatian dalam proses perancangan.Preseden dalam arsitektur adalah salah satu metode penilaian terhadap arsitektur yang secara mendalam meliputi tiga aspek, yaitu aspek konseptual, aspek programatik dan aspek formal.Kata kunci: arsitektur, estetika, penilaian, presede
