The variety generated by order algebras

    Get PDF
Every ordered set can be considered as an algebra in a natural way. We investigate the variety generated by order algebras. We prove, among other things, that this variety is not finitely based and, although locally finite, it is not contained in any finitely generated variety; we describe the bottom of the lattice of its subvarieties

Convex and exact games with non-transferable utility

We generalize exactness to games with non-transferable utility (NTU). A game is exact if for each coalition there is a core allocation on the boundary of its payoff set. Convex games with transferable utility are well-known to be exact. We consider ve generalizations of convexity in the NTU setting. We show that each of ordinal, coalition merge, individual merge and marginal convexity can be uni¯ed under NTU exactness. We provide an example of a cardinally convex game which is not NTU exact. Finally, we relate the classes of Π-balanced, totally Π-balanced, NTU exact, totally NTU exact, ordinally convex, cardinally convex, coalition merge convex, individual merge convex and marginal convex games to one another

Studying freeze-out and hadronization in the Landau hydrodynamical model

We study the rapidity spectra in ultra-relativistic heavy ion collisions in the framework of the Landau hydrodynamical model. We find that thermal smearing effects improve the agreement with experimental results on pion rapidity spectra. We describe a simple model of the hadronization and discuss its consequences regarding the pion multiplicity and the increasing entropy condition.Comment: 7 pages, 3 figure

Information management in vegetable-fruit Producer Organizations supported by ICT

The vegetables-fruit sector has a many-sides role in national economy in Hungary. Our natural resources and traditions of production render possible to produce high-quality vegetables and fruits by which products not only domestic consumer demands can be satisfied. Marketing of farm products and buying inputs for the production are among the biggest challenges for small-holder farmers. Farmers have often founded co-operatives or producer organizations to assist them in achieving the highest price from the market and paying the lowest price for the input. We would like to introduce the vegetable-fruit sector and mission of Producer Organization. The Producer Organizations play a great part in rural development and in Common Agricultural Policy of European Union. More and more farmers join one of POs, because they get EU subsidization through this organization only. We construct a situation report about usage and state of supply of information and communication technologies. Trough their business process we present what kind of ICT system usually help their and what opportunities are presented their. As study case we examined Producer Organizations. We introduce what kind of information and communication technologies they use

We generalize exactness to games with non-transferable utility (NTU). In an exact game for each coalition there is a core allocation on the boundary of its payoff set. Convex games with transferable utility are well-known to be exact. We study five generalizations of convexity in the NTU setting. We show that each of ordinal, coalition merge, individual merge and marginal convexity can be unified under NTU exactness. We provide an example of a cardinally convex game which is not NTU exact. Finally, we relate the classes of \Pi-balanced, totally \Pi-balanced, NTU exact, totally NTU exact, ordinally convex, cardinally convex, coalition merge convex, individual merge convex and marginal convex games to one another.NTU Games, Exact Games, Convex Games

INTRODUCTION: Care provision for very low birth weight and very low gestational age newborns requires high level clinical preparedness. Appropriate care and care management reduce mortality. AIM: To present Hungarian and international outcomes and local regional differences characterizing neonatal care in 2006-2008, based on the results of the EuroHOPE study. METHOD: Hungarian data were created by linking the obstetrics registry with the financing database of the Health Insurance Fund. Resulting from peculiarities of these databases and clinically justified exclusions, 3562 newborns were included. RESULTS: Hungarian risk-adjusted 365-day mortality rate was significantly higher than in most of the studied countries. Incidence of diseases correlated with higher mortality risk was highest in Hungary. Mortality in two Hungarian counties was worse than expected based on modelling, while it was better in one county. CONCLUSIONS: Systematic factors might cause these results. Relatively low usage rate of steroid prophylaxis in Hungary might contribute to unfavorable mortality figures. A common unique identifier would help database linkage. Orv. Hetil., 2016, 157(41), 1649-1656

    Bell's local causality is a d-separation criterion

This paper aims to motivate Bell's notion of local causality by means of Bayesian networks. In a locally causal theory any superluminal correlation should be screened off by atomic events localized in any so-called \textit{shielder-off region} in the past of one of the correlating events. In a Bayesian network any correlation between non-descendant random variables are screened off by any so-called \textit{d-separating set} of variables. We will argue that the shielder-off regions in the definition of local causality conform in a well defined sense to the d-separating sets in Bayesian networks.Comment: 13 pages, 8 figure
