The mass spectra and decay properties of dimesonic states, using the Hellmann potential

    Get PDF
Mass spectra of the dimesonic (meson-antimeson) molecular states are computed using the Hellmann potential in variational approach, which consists of relativistic correction to kinetic energy term as well as to the potential energy term. For the study of molecular bound state system, the Hellmann potential of the form V(r)=−αsr+Be−CrrV(r)=-\frac{\alpha_{s}}{r} + \frac{B e^{-Cr}}{r} is being used. The one pion exchange potential (OPEP) is also incorporated in the mass calculation. The digamma decay width and decay width of the dimesonic system are evaluated using the wave function. The experimental states such as f0(980)f_{0}(980), b1(1235)b_{1}(1235), h1(1380)h_{1}(1380), a0(1450)a_{0}(1450), f0(1500)f_{0}(1500), f2′(1525)f_{2}'(1525),f2(1565)f_{2}(1565), h1(1595)h_{1}(1595), a2(1700)a_{2}(1700), f0(1710)f_{0}(1710), f2(1810)f_{2}(1810) are compared with dimesonic states. Many of these states (masses and their decay properties) are close to our theoretical predictions.Comment: 11 pages, 4 table

Masses and decay modes of charmonia using a confinement model

The masses of charmonium s and p-states, pseudoscalar and vector decay constants, leptonic, hadronic as well as radiative decay widths for charmonia have been computed in the framework of extended harmonic confinement model without any additional parameters. The outcome in comparison with other contemporary theoretical and experimental results is presented.Comment: Submitted to AIP for proceedings of International Workshop on Theoretical High Energy Physics held at IIT Roorkee, INDIA during 15-20 March, 200

Investigation of Complex Impedance and Modulus Properties of Nd Doped 0.5BiFeO3-0.5PbTiO3 Multiferroic Composites

0.5BiNdxFe1-xO3-0.5PbTiO3 (x=0.05, 0.10, 0.15, 0.20) composites were successfully synthesized by a solid state reaction technique. At room temperature X-ray diffraction shows tetragonal structure for all concentrations of Nd doped 0.5BiFeO3-0.5PbTiO3 composites. The nature of Nyquist plot confirms the presence of bulk effects only for all compositions of Nd-doped 0.5BiFeO3-0.5PbTiO3 composites. The bulk resistance is found to decreases with the increasing in temperature as well as Nd concentration and exhibits a typical negative temperature coefficient of resistance (NTCR) behavior. Both the complex impedance and modulus studies have suggested the presence of non-Debye type of relaxation in the materials. Conductivity spectra reveal the presence of hopping mechanism in the electrical transport process of the materials. The activation energy of the composite increases with increasing Nd concentration and were found to be 0.28, 0.27, 0.31 and 0.32eV for x=0.05, 0.10, 0.15, 0.20 respectively at 200-275 oC for conduction process.Comment: 22 pages, 12 figures, 2 tables, 34 Referenc

Experimental Investigation on the Cold – Formed Steel – Concrete Composite Beam Under Flexure

    Get PDF
Steel – concrete composite members are widely used in the construction of multistorey buildings and bridges. Composite construction takes the advantages of steel and concrete, in turn reduces the cost of construction. This paper discuss the use of galvanised steel with concrete as composite beam under flexural loading. Six specimens were tested to failure with varying number of headed stud connectors from 0 to 5. Load carrying capacity of the composite beam specimen improved by 62 % as compared to beam without shear connectors. The mode of failure of the composite beam is mainly due to failure of the shear connectors at tension zone, which leads to formation of multiple cracks on concrete portion. The analytical model was developed using finite element software ANSYS and found to obtain similar result as compared to the experimental results with minimal variation in the central deflection

Diffusion of Big Data in Indian Scientific Literature: Study of Research Productivity and Scientific Collaboration

    Get PDF
Purpose: Big data, a buzzword of the present time, is a term used for extremly large data sets generated from the digital process which is not possible to analyze by traditional methods. These data sets are produced by digital devices such as smart phones, remote sensing, camera, microphones, RFID etc. The literature on big data is growing exponentially since 2011. Big data is tending to establish as a very important research field. This paper aims to explore the evolution, growth and scientific collaboration of the Indian publications in the field of big data. Design/methodology/approach: A survey approach is used in the study while data for the study is collected from Scopus database for the year 2001 to 2015. Bibliometric analysis, visualization and mapping software are used to present the current status, growth trends and collaboration in big data research to examine its diffusion in Indian scientific literature. Findings: We found that the big data research in India is gaining momentum and its diffusion and adoption is increasing tremendously. Conference and seminars are used to do social connect and interaction within the research community. The collaboration at institution level is found usual while collaboration at international level is low. Application of big data in health sciences and life sciences is yet to be explored in comparison to the social sciences and physical sciences. Originality/ Value: This paper presents the growth, trends and collaboration in big data literature by the use of sophisticated bibliometric software and visualization software
