Lobster Eye X-ray optics for astrophysics: Recent status
X-ray optics in Lobster Eye arrangement represent promising complementary device to narrow field X-ray optics in common use. We present briefly recent status of design, developments, and tests of X-ray optics including Lobster Eye modules developed and tested within recent space project
Thermal Forming of Glass — Experiment vs. Simulation
Thermal forming is a technique for forming glass foils precisely into a desired shape. It is widely used in the automotive industry. It can also be used for shaping X-ray mirror substrates for space missions, as in our case. This paper presents the initial results of methods used for automatic data processing of in-situ measurements of the thermal shaping process and a comparison of measured and simulatated values. It also briefly describes improvements of the overall experimental setup currently being made in order to obtain better and more precise results
Czech Contribution to Athena
We describe the recent status of the Czech contribution to the ESA Athena space mission, with emphasis on the development of new technologies and test samples of X-ray mirrors with precise surfaces, based on new materials, and their applications in space. In addition, alternative X-ray optical arrangements are investigated, such as Kirkpatrick-Baez systems
Czech Participation in International X-Ray Observatory (IXO)
Here we describe the recent status of Czech participation in the IXO (International X-ray Observatory) space mission, with emphasis on the development of new technologies and test samples of X-ray mirrors with precise surfaces, based on new materials, and their applications in space. In addition, alternative X-ray optical arrangements are investigated, such as Kirkpatrick-Baez systems
Lobster eye optics for nano-satellite x-ray monitor
The Lobster eye design for a grazing incidence X-ray optics provides wide field of view of the order of many degrees, for this reason it would be a convenient approach for the construction of space X-ray monitors. In this paper, we compare previously reported measurements of prototype lobster eye X-ray optics called P-25 with computer simulations and discuss differences between the theoretical end experimentally obtained results.
Usability of this prototype lobster eye and manufacturing technology for the nano-satellite mission is assessed.
The specific scientific goals are proposed

Ondřejov Echelle Spectrograph -OES
This paper describes the OES echelle spectrograph, a new coudé focus instrument of the 2 m telescope at Ondřejov Observatory. The design, optical scheme, and mechanical solutions are presented. A brief review of laboratory tests is given, too
Multifoil optics for rocket experiments
© COPYRIGHT SPIE. Downloading of the abstract is permitted for personal use only. A novel design of x-ray optical system wide field telescope for astrophysical rocket experiments is investigated and tested in real space flight experiment. The proposed system is based on 1D and 2D modules with Schmidt Lobster Eye (LE) configuration allowing usage of multi-foil mirrors arranged to Schmidt profile
A study of electrical discharge in polyacetal capillary
A fast electrical discharge, created in an initially evacuated polyacetal capillary, has been simulated and realized. Steady state discharge parameters for polyethylene and polyacetal have been compared on the basis of the IONMIX code results. Space-time dependencies of plasma electron temperatures and densities under various experimental conditions have been judged on the basis of one-dimensional MHD model. Measured and evaluated macroscopic parameters correspond to each other
