Equivariant absolute extensor property on hyperspaces of convex sets

Let G be a compact group acting on a Banach space L by means of linear isometries. The action of G on L induces a natural continuous action on cc(L), the hyperspace of all compact convex subsets of L endowed with the Hausdorff metric topology. The main result of this paper states that the G-space cc(L) is a G-AE. Under some extra assumptions, this result can be extended to CB(L), the hyperspace of all closed and bounded convex subsets of L.Comment: 8 page

The distribution and licensing of –ra in Eonavian Spanish: a nanosyntactic analysis

The imperfect subjunctive form –ra found in the variety of Spanish spoken between the Eo and Navia rivers in Asturias, has not only the modal value observed in Standard Peninsular Spanish (Ojalá lloviera ‘I wish it rained’), but it may also carry temporal values such as pluperfect (Cuando llegué yo, Ana ya saliera ‘by the time I arrived, Ana had already left’) and simple past ( (Las flores) me las regalara mi abuela ‘(the flowers) my grandmother gave them to me’). This paper offers a (tentative) formal analysis of the licensing conditions of –ra in affirmative contexts in this variety, using the nanosyntactic apparatus (Starke 2005). The hypothesis based on features is presented in combination with Ojea’s (2005) work on asertiveness and mood selection: two main factors, one syntactic (subordination) and one semantic (level of assertiveness), are examined to identify the number and order of features, as well as their semantic value (modal, pluperfect, and deictic). Evidence from spontaneous speech as well as data from an online survey completed by 45 Eonavians conform the empirical basis of the study. The analysis predicts that the difference between Standard and Eonavian Spanish follows from the number of features that –ra lexicalizes in each variety, as illustrated in concrete examples

Estudio empírico sobre la violencia de género en Galicia: tipos delictivos y circunstancias comisivas

El presente trabajo tiene por objeto el análisis empírico de algunos aspectos y características de la violencia de género. Para ello hemos seleccionado y tratado la información procedente de los expedientes de la Fiscalía de Área de Santiago de Compostela relativos a asuntos sobre violencia de género que concluyeron con sentencia firme, durante los años 2005 a 2012 (en total 580 expedientes).The aim of this work is to analyze empirically some aspects and characteristics of the gender violence. For it we have selected and treated the information extracted from the files of the District attorney's office of Santiago de Compostela relative to matters on gender violence which concluded with final judgement, during the period from 2005 to 2012 (in total 580 files)
