Takayasu Arteritis Initially Mimicking Infective Endocarditis
Takayasuâs arteritis (TA) is a chronic inflammatory disease that affects large vessels, predominantly the aorta and its main branches, leading to vessel wall thickening, fibrosis and stenosis. Cardiac and vascular symptoms are also commonly present at disease onset. In TA with thoracic or abdominal involvement, although murmur can be present at physical examination, the pulse difference may be absent. Here, we report a case of TA who initially resembled infective endocarditis and had widespread thoracic murmur
Determining some of the quality characteristics of probiotic yogurts manufactured by using microencapsulated Saccharomyces cerevisiae var. boulardii
WOS: 000452607600014Probiotics can be defined as living microorganisms that positively contribute to human health by regulating the intestinal flora of a host and stimulating the immune system. As stated in many studies carried out in recent years, probiotic microorganisms are known to be very useful for human health. Saccharomyces cerevisiae var. boulardii is the only probiotic yeast that has been patented. In this study, it was aimed to determine the physical, rheological, chemical, and microbiological quality parameters of probiotic yogurts manufactured using this yeast microencapsulated via extrusion method during storage. Black cherry jam was used in order to enrich the sensory properties of products and the products were stored for 21 days. Microbiological characteristics such as total mesophilic aerobic bacteria, total coliform, total lactic acid bacteria, total yeast-mold, and viability of the S. boulardii were determined by analyzing the samples. We also investigated sensory properties such as external appearance, consistency (with spoon and by mouth), odor, flavor, and overall acceptability throughout the storage to evaluate the acceptability of the product by consumers.TUBITAK (the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey)Turkiye Bilimsel ve Teknolojik Arastirma Kurumu (TUBITAK) [1919B011603439]We would like to thank TUBITAK (the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey) for financial support within the scope of 2209-A University Student Research Projects Support (Project No: 1919B011603439)
The Contagion of Covid-19 Pandemic on The Volatilities of International Crude Oil Prices, Gold, Exchange Rates and Bitcoin
In the international markets, financial variables can be volatile and may affect each other, especially in the crisis times. COVID-19, which began in China in 2019 and spread to many countries of the world, created a crisis not only in the global health system but also in the international financial markets and economy. The purpose of this study is to analyze the contagious effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on the volatility of selected financial variables such as Bitcoin, gold, oil price, and exchange rates and the connections between the volatilities of these variables during the pandemic. For this aim, we use the ARMA-EGARCH model to measure the impact of volatility and shocks. In other words, it is aimed to measure whether the impact of the shock on the financial variables of the contagiousness of the epidemic is also transmitted to the markets. The data was collected from secondary and daily data from September 2th 2019 to December 20th, 2020. It can be said that the findings obtained have statistically significant effects on the conditional variability of the variables. Therefore, there are findings that the shocks in the market are contaminated with each other
Influence of extraction method on antioxidant properties of Rheum ribes root extract
Rheum species are important medicinal herbs, often used in pharmacological research, due to the presence of anthracene derivatives in the subterranean parts of the plant. In this study, we intended to assess its antioxidant capacity, in correlation with the method of extraction. For this purpose, Rheum ribes extraction was realized with four solvents of different polarities (50% methanol, 70% ethanol, 80% acetonitrile, and petroleum ether). We used different extraction techniques, such as orbital shaker, ultrasonic stirrer, microwave, and Soxhlet extraction, and the total phenolic content of the Rheum ribes extracts was determined by modified FolinâCiocalteu method. The reducing power and radical scavenging activity of the extracts were also evaluated. The results shown that the antioxidant activity of the extracts depends on the extraction methods especially through the used solvent and decreases in the order: ethanol > methanol > acetonitrile > petroleum ether

Ontology Research Fields in the Cultural Heritage Domain
Cultural Heritage (CH) refers to a vast collection of data from various professions, which is constantly updated and processed on separate platforms by experts in different fields. This complexity results in intricate knowledge structures. Achieving a universally understandable representation of CH knowledge requires the collaboration of an interdisciplinary team and the management of interoperable complex knowledge. Development of a CH ontology provides a foundation for robust Knowledge Management (KM), facilitating an interoperable platform for sustainable knowledge transfer. This study aims to identify the main research clusters of ontology research within CH literature. Scientometric analysis of bibliometric data, visualized through mapping, reveals a recent emphasis on the interoperability of ontology studies in CH and Semantic Web technologies integration. The limitations of the research are that the bibliometric search consists only of journal articles and only in English. Future research is expected to focus on the seamless integration of CH domain ontologies, Semantic Web, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies to provide a comprehensive Semantic KM

Digital Twins for Knowledge Management During Earthquake Emergency
The chaotic emergency environment can create obstacles that may complicate prompt and effective responses for a resilient emergency management. The provision of vital information related to health services, shelter, nutrition, and availability of infrastructure is of utmost importance. In the context of earthquake emergency, Knowledge Management (KM) encompasses various techniques and approaches for acquiring, storing, generating, assessing, and sharing knowledge for efficient and effective mobility of people, goods, and services. Digital Twins (DT) can serve as a platform for KM, addressing challenges in earthquake emergency action plans and facilitating information sharing during critical hours and in the aftermath of disasters, ensuring timely and informed decisions for the survival of victims. This paper presents an Earthquake Emergency Knowledge Management framework through DT, based on expert judgment, and the scientometric analysis and mapping to identify gaps in existing KM methods. The proposed conceptual framework aims to improve response time and facilitate KM during an earthquake emergency to meet the primary needs of victims for survival. However, it's important to recognize potential limitations, such as challenges in resource-constrained settings or areas lacking digital infrastructure. Future studies may further focus on the secondary emergency requirements for the days following the earthquake, addressing not only survival but also recovery needs
Message in a Bottle: An Exploratory Study on the Role of Wine-Bottle Design in Capturing Consumer Attention
This study aims to investigate the influence of wine-bottle design and the position of labels on consumersâ visual attention in digital contexts. Two within-subjects experiments combined with implicit eye-tracking measures were implemented in Italy. The visual attention of twenty-four participants was measured using areas of interest metrics while being asked to view two differently shaped bottles in three orientations. Subsequently, four examples of each bottle type were displayed, positioning an organic logo in different areas. Attention and interest measures were captured and analysed using a factorial repeated-measures ANOVA. The results show that the shoulder is the bottleâs first and most fixated part. Significant differences in participantsâ attention and interest were found according to the interaction of bottle type and bottle part, as well as bottle part and orientation. Furthermore, exploring the inclusion of an organic logo on different bottle parts provided consistent results. Wine producers and marketers could benefit from bottle anatomy and morphology to identify the best place to display essential information to capture the consumerâs visual attention and interest
