Preliminary survey of the pinewood nematode in Turkey
A survey was conducted in the northern conifer forests of Turkey in 2003 and 2004 for the pinewood nematode, Bursaphelenchus xylophilus. Wood samples were collected from declining pine trees, located in the following target areas: Düzce, Ankara, Bolu, and Artvin. Nematodes were extracted from over 310 samples and were observed and identified. B. xylophilus was not detected in any samples. Bursaphelenchus species were only found in 6% of the samples. From the B. xylophilus-group, only the species B. mucronatus was reported. Species identification was performed from morphological characters, particularly male spicules, and by molecular analysis with ITS-RFLP. © The Authors (2006)
CYTOGENETIC OBSERVATIONS OF PACHYTODES ERRATICUS (COLEOPTERA: CERAMBYCIDAE: LEPTURINAE: LEPTURINI)
WOS: 000310099400023The paper describes cytogenetic observations of Pachytodes erraticus (Dalman 1817) for the first time. Also presented are the distribution of this species in Turkey with a map and in the world, chorotype classification of the species, photos of male genitalia, the mitotic metaphase stage and karyogram. The results indicate that the chromosome number is 2n = 18
A Cytogenetic Study of Vadonia Unipunctata (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) and Its Distribution in Turkey
WOS: 000298451200010The paper gives the results of the first cytogenetic study of Vadonia unipunctata (F. 1787) on the basis of the mitotic metaphase plate, karyogram, and the male genitalia. The distribution of this species in Turkey is also presented.Gazi UniversityGazi University [05/2008-44]This work was supported by a project of Gazi University (05/2008-44).
