Dynamic Blocking of 5G Cells in Non-Standalone Networks

    Get PDF
A multi-mode user equipment (UE) employing multiple radio access technologies (RATs) detects secondary cell group (SCG) failures in a cellular network. The UE implements a dynamic blocking mechanism to block the new radio (NR) cell associated with the SCG failure from being subsequently added as a secondary cell during a blocking period/cycle. In one example, the UE adds the NR cell to a block list and sets a blocking period for the NR cell. During the blocking period, the UE does not send a cell measurement report to the cellular network for the NR cell, which prevents/blocks the network from adding the NR cell as a secondary cell. The blocking period is associated with a minimum blocking duration and a maximum blocking duration. The blocking duration for the NR cell can be dynamically adjusted for the blocking period. For example, the UE dynamically increases the blocking duration for the NR cell for each instance of SCG failure detected by the UE during the blocking period. The UE unblocks the NR cell after the blocking period has expired, which configures the UE to send a cell measurement report for the NR cell upon receiving a request from the cellular network. The dynamic blocking mechanism implemented by the UE prevents the frequent addition and removal of an NR cell associated with an SCG failure, which enhances the overall user experience when accessing the cellular network

A ZSM-5 molecular sieve composite with a wide pore prepared by the solid phase in-situ synthesis method and fluid catalytic cracking, and an FCC catalyst additive prepared by the same ZSM-5 molecular sieve for increasing the amount of light olefin yield were investigated. The samples were characterized by XRD, N2 adsorption/desorption, SEM, and NH3-TPD, respectively. The results showed that the structure of the ZSM-5 molecular sieve composite prepared by solid phase in-situ synthesis method was pure MFI-type zeolite material. The crystallinity of ZSM-5 molecular sieve was 59.8 wt%. The synthesized ZSM-5 molecular sieve had more acid content and a wide-pore structure. The average pore size was 5.9 nm, and BET specific surface area and micropore specific surface area of sample were 213 m2 g–1 and 124 m2 g–1, respectively. The evaluated results indicated that the FCC catalyst additive had good selectivity for LPG, propylene, and butene, increasing propylene and butene yields by 2.28 wt% and 2.15 wt%, respectively, as well as had better heavy oil cracking capability and coke selectivity. 5G DL Out-Of-Order Delivery

Fifth Generation (5G) networks implement packet re-reordering functionality at the New Radio Packet Data Convergence Protocol (NR-PDCP) layer, mitigating packet transmission issues, but potentially introducing undesirable delays in transmitting downlink packets to an access point. By introducing logistics to manage packet reordering, the transmission delays are reduced. For example, metadata is added to transmitted packets to assist the network stack at the access point in processing packets received out of order, allowing the packets to be provided to the stack relatively quickly

AbstractObjectiveTo explore whether the insulin resistance (IR) model could be established through feeding Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats high-sugar and high-fat diets and to further observe the preventive and treatment effects of different doses of Danqidihuang Granules in rats.MethodsThirty-two SD rats were divided randomly into control group A (given regular feed), model group B (food high in sugar and fat), intervention group C (food high in sugar and fat as well as regular doses of Danqidihuang Granules), and intervention group D (food high in sugar and fat as well as double doses of Danqidihuang Granules). The interventions were for 8 weeks. Motion, change in color, body weight, and food intake, as well as plasma lipids (including low-density lipoprotein-cholesterol (LDL-C), high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol (HDL-C), total cholesterol (TC) and triglyceride (TG), fasting blood glucose (FBG), fasting insulin (FINs) levels, insulin sensitivity index (ISI), and insulin resistance index (HOMO-IR) were observed.ResultsAt the end of the second week of the experiment, the appetite and activities of rats in groups B, C and D decreased significantly compared with group A. The fur of the rats in those three groups was curly. After the fourth week, the activities, food intake and color of rats in group B were worse than those in groups C and D, but there were no significant differences in weight (P>0.05). Compared with group A, LDL-C, TC, FBG and HOMO-IR in model group B were increased significantly (P<0.05), whereas the FINs and ISI increased obviously (P<0.05). The levels of LDL-C and TC in group D was decreased obviously compared with those in group C, and HOMO-IR in group D was less than that in group B (P<0.05).ConclusionsDanqidihuang Granules helped to prevent and improved the insulin resistance of rats

Background and objective Lung cancer is one of the leading cause of cancer-related death around the world. Surgery is the primary treatment for patients with stage I, II, or IIIA non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). However, longterm survival of NSCLC patients after surgery alone is largely unsatisfactory. We undertook to determine whether adjuvant vinorelbine/paclitaxel plus carboplatin prolong overall survival among patients with completely resected stage IIIA-N2 nonsmall cell lung cancer. Methods We randomly assigned patients with completely resected stage IIIA-N2 non-small cell lung cancer to vinorelbine/paclitaxel plus carboplatin or to observation. Results A total of 150 patients (1999-2003) underwent randomization to vinorelbine/paclitaxel plus carboplatin (79 patients) or observation. In both groups, the median age was 57 years, 73 percent were male, and 28 percents had squamous carcinoma. Chemotherapy caused neutropenia in 82 percents of patients (including grade 3 and 4 neutropenia in 42 percent) and there was no treatment-related death observed in this trial. After median follow-up of 39 months (range 1-110), overall survival was significantly prolonged in the chemotherapy group as compared with the observation group (33 months versus 24 months, χ2=4.363, P=0.037), as was disease-free survival (32 months versus 20 months, χ2=5.413, P=0.020). Five-year overall survival rates were 31.1 percent and 19.1 percent, respectively. Conclusion Adjuvant vinorelbine/paclitaxel plus carboplatin have an acceptable level of toxicity and prolongs disease-free and overall survival among patients with completely resected stage IIIA-N2 non-small cell lung cancer
