New records of Araceae for Costa Rica and Panama

Four species are documented for the first time for the Costa Rican flora: Anthurium curvispadix, Anthurium palosecense, Monstera integrifolia, Monstera spruceana. Monstera limitaris (Araceae), a new species from the border between Costa Rica and Panama

Species of genus Monstera are among the most representative hemi-epiphytic Araceae in the Neotropics. They are widely distributed and abundant in the tropical forests of Costa Rica and Panama. During recent exploration in the border region between the two countries, an undescribed species belonging to the genus has been identified. Three new species and a new record of Monstera Adans. sect. Marcgraviopsis Madison (Araceae: Monsteroideae: Monstereae) from the Caribbean watershed in Costa Rica and Panama

Three new species from Monstera sect. Marcgraviopsis, M. caribaea M.Cedeño, O.Ortiz & A.Hay, M. lamersiana M.Cedeño & A.Hay and M. panamensis M.Cedeño & O.Ortiz, are described, and new record of M. guzmanjacobiae Díaz Jim. et al. for Costa Rica is reported here. A reexamination of Monstera oreophila Madison (Araceae: Monsteroideae) and description of two new pinkish-spathed species of Monstera from Costa Rica and Panama

Monstera gentryi from Panama and M. mittermeieri from Costa Rica are newly described, illustrated and compared with M. oreophila.
