On the isomorphism question for complete Pick multiplier algebras
Every multiplier algebra of an irreducible complete Pick kernel arises as the
restriction algebra \mv = \{f\big|_V : f \in \cM_d\}, where is some
integer or , \cM_d is the multiplier algebra of the Drury-Arveson
space , and is a subvariety of the unit ball. For finite it is
known that, under mild assumptions, every isomorphism between two such algebras
\mv and \mw is induced by a biholomorphism between and . In this
paper we consider the converse, and obtain positive results in two directions.
The first deals with the case where is the proper image of a finite Riemann
surface. The second deals with the case where is a disjoint union of
varieties.Comment: 17 pages. Final version, to appear in Integral Equations and Operator

Controlled fabrication of tunable delay using compound phase shifted resonators
Fine tuned, narrowband group delay (âslow lightâ) is obtained using a compound phase shifted grating and superposing resonances. Both simulation and experiments are reported
An Evaluation of the Success of the Rural Youth Program in South Dakota
Major emphasis by the Extension Service has been directed toward working with youth of 4-H Club age and with adult men and women. In recent years the Extension Service has also concerned itself with meeting the interests and needs of young men and women in the eighteen to thirty year age group. That further progress in this area is desired is clearly recognized by the examination of the Smith-Lever, Bankhead-Flannagan and subsequent legislative acts. It has been further emphasized by the Joint Committee on Extension Programs, Policies and Goals of the United States Department of Agriculture and the Association of Land Grant Colleges and Universities. Taft Benson, Secretary of Agriculture, stressed five major areas in which he hoped Extension would be able to make a useful contribution. They are: 1) marketing and distribution; 2) farm and home planning; 3) housing and health; 4) greater assistance to those young men and women who are above the 4-H age group, but not fully established as farmers and homemakers; and 5) more effective Extension assistance to families on small and less productive farms. This research gives a history and an analysis of the success of this program

Help for unemployed borrowers: lessons from the Pennsylvania Homeownersâ Emergency Mortgage Assistance Program
In an environment of high foreclosure rates and distressed housing markets, federal policies are focusing on loan modifications to help delinquent homeowners pay their mortgages. While it is too soon to assess the effectiveness of these modifications, policymakers considering future refinements may gain insight from a more established, state-level enterprise that takes an alternative approach to mortgage relief. The Pennsylvania Homeownersâ Emergency Mortgage Assistance Program provides temporary income support to homeowners unable to pay their mortgage during a spell of unemployment. The program has helped most participants retain their homes while paying off their loansâat a potentially lower cost than that of other relief initiatives.Mortgages ; Unemployment
