5 Páginas.--1 FiguraThe damage produced by cryopreservation processes on ovine spermatozoa reduces semen quality and therefore its fertilising capacity. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of adding different concentrations of 3,4-dihydroxyphenylglycol (DHPG) to sheep semen during the cryopre-servation process. For this purpose, the sperm, once collected, were pooled and diluted with Biladyl, supplemented with different concentrations of DHPG (59 μM, 177μM, 295μM and 413μM), leaving a control treatment without antioxidant supplementation. Motility, viability, acrosome integrity, mito-chondrial membrane potential and lipid peroxidation (LPO) were assessed. No significant differences were observed derived from the addition of DHPG for all the studied variables, with the exception of the LPO, which was reduced in comparison to the control treatment when the samples were cryopre-served. It was therefore concluded that the addition of DHPG has a positive effect on thawed sperm as they reduced LPO.Esta investigación ha sido financiada por el Programa Torres Quevedo del Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación de España, número de subvención PTQ2019‐010670, concedida a Ander Arando ArbuluPeer reviewe
