Introduction: In Peru, a high proportion of fully immunized people against COVID-19 has been achieved, which has mitigated the severity of the disease. Thus, under the recommendation of experts, the Peruvian government issued Supreme Decree 118-2022-PCM, which indicated that the use of masks is optional in open and ventilated enclosed spaces as of October 1, 2022. Objective: The aim of the present study was to find out the reasons why people continued to wear masks even though it was not mandatory in outdoor environments. Methods: A total of 335 people participated, with an average age of 26.11 years (73.1% women). A data collection form was prepared where sociodemographic and health information was requested; in addition, the question "Why do you continue to wear mask despite it being optional in open and closed ventilated spaces?" was included. The data obtained from the last open question of the instrument was analyzed by means of a discursive textual analysis (DTA) and an exploratory analysis through IRAMUTEQ. Results: Results indicate that people continue to wear masks, despite the lifting of the restrictions, to avoid contagion of COVID-19 and other respiratory diseases. In addition, the prevention of possible infection and transmission of the virus also focused on the family and vulnerable people. Discussion: It is concluded that the practice of wearing masks may be influenced by individual perceptions of risk and interpretations of responsibility and solidarity towards others

Introduction: Psychological research can be conducted by researchers and by undergraduate or postgraduate students. At the undergraduate level, psychological research is especially challenging because of the limited ability of students to develop coherent and logical research problems and methodological approaches. Objective: This study aimed to identify the main research trends in undergraduate psychological theses at Peruvian universities. Quantitative and qualitative research design trends were identified as specific objectives. Methods: A descriptive and retrospective systematic review of psychological research thesis of Peruvian undergraduate students was conducted, starting the data extraction process starting with RENATI database for an initial screening phase. The data analysis was conducted in two phases.  Results: The data were organized according to the following categories: sex of the authors, universities (1–5) according to their ranking, year of publication of the thesis, number of authors, designs, type of methodology, and topic of publication. Descriptive statistics were calculated on the basis of these categories. In the next phase, lexicometric and statistical textual analyses were used to identify research trends. Discussion: The main results showed that different topics were predominantly framed within the clinical and health psychology line of research, mainly those related to coping styles, psychological stress, and well-being

    No full text

This research makes a comprehensive trail in terms of the construction of the Professional Identity of a group of teachers of a Public Educational Institution in Lima. For that a qualitative methodological approach of a phenomenological design was used, based in the methodological proposal of González Rey (2008) and using conversation and participant observation as data collection techniques. The findings of this study illustrate the ways in which the teachers of that institution configure their professional identity, separating in two big dimensions of manifestation and construction: Collective Dimension and Individual Dimension. The study also identifies the mechanisms by which the contextual element of the professional practice exerts influence in the individual construction, stablishing the types of answers of the teachers according to the demands and prevailing requirements of the new educational paradigm.Tesi

The present study evaluated the predictive capacity of fear of Monkeypox (MPX) on the intention to be vaccinated against MPX and the influence of conspiracy beliefs as a mediating variable in this relationship in 516 Peruvian sample with an average age of 27.10 years participated. Monkeypox Fear Scale, MPX Conspiracy Beliefs Scale and a single item of intention to be vaccinated against MPX were used. Statistical analyses have included estimation of descriptive statistics for all variables in the model tested and Structural Equation Modeling to predict intention to be vaccinated against monkeypox. It has been found that fear has a positive impact on conspiracy beliefs about MPX and intention to be vaccinated against MPX. Finally, conspiracy beliefs are negatively related to intention to be vaccinated. As for indirect effects, both are statistically significant. The model explains 11.4% of the variance in beliefs and 19.1% in intention to be vaccinated. It is concluded that fear of MPX played an important role, both directly and indirectly, in the intention to be vaccinated against MPX, having conspiratorial beliefs about MPX as a mediating variable. The results have important implications for public health practices aimed at combating doubts about MPX vaccination
