    Technology acceptance: examining the intentions of Ghanaian teachers to use computer for teaching

    Technology is seen as a key enabler of modern education. The Government of Ghana recognises information and communication technology (ICT) as an engine of national growth, and it is investing ICT into teaching and learning. However, most teachers still feel reluctant to use computer for teaching. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to examine the factors that influence teachers to use computer for teaching purposes. The research model developed in this study was based on the Technology Acceptance Model. Questionnaire was used to collect data from one hundred and five teachers in the New Juaben Municipality, Eastern region of the Republic of Ghana. Partial Least Square (PLS) was used as the statistical technique to analyse the data. The study found that perceived barrier, attitude, perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness and relevance to job had a positive significant effect on teachers’ intentions to use computer.     Entrepreneurship and business ethics: implications on corporate performance

    The purpose of this research is to examine the impact of business ethics on corporate performance. The hypotheses were set using four main objectives. Data were obtained using both primary and secondary sources. The primary data was obtained by using a structured questionnaire design. Whilst relevant published and unpublished literature provided the secondary data. The total number of questionnaires distributed was 286, out of which 260 were returned. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used for the data analysis. The statistical tools used include frequency table, multiple regression analysis, analysis of variance, correlation analysis. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between the ethical practices of organizations and their corporate performance. Moreso, the employees of the sampled organizations concurred that their organization is highly ethical. Based on these findings, the authors profer the need for clearly defined ethics within corporate organizations as this would guide the employees in their day to day conduct

    The aging of the labor force is observed in most developed and developing countries. The employment rate of older employees has been increasing every year and it appears to be not changed in the nearest future. The aging workforce is a serious challenge for organizations due to the prevailing stereotypical approach that older employees are less motivated, demonstrate lower labor productivity, they have more difficulties adopting new information, technologies and the lower ability to adapt to innovations. The aim of the paper is to investigate the impact of the work characteristics on the involvement in the work, the influence of employee’s characteristics on the work engagement, the influence of age and related factors on the involvement in the work and the relationship between age and achievements. The research is based on the analysis and synthesis of scientific literature, investigating to reveal the diversity of the concepts and methodologies and to systematize prevailing issues. The paper integrates the main researches in the field of older employees’ engagement and provides recommendations for future research. Straipsnio tikslas – apžvelgti darbo pobūdžio charakteristikų poveikį, paties darbuotojo charakteristikų įtaką, amžiaus ir su juo susijusių veiksnių įtaką įsitraukimui į darbą bei ryšius tarp amžiaus ir pasiekimų.
