The scientific production about occupational health of nursing

Objective: To know the scientific literature about the nursing worker's health. Method: Bibliography review of literature published from 2005 to 2010. It was used the databases LILACS and SCIELO and BDENF, with intersection between the descriptors nursing and worker's health, 20 studies were selected. Results: Most publications on nursing worker's health discuss biosecurity, exposure to biohazards, occupational stress and its prevention and control measures. There are still few published studies about this issue in primary care or family health strategy, with most studies conducted in hospitals, mainly in university hospitals. Conclusion: The research on occupational health of nursing is important because it can contribute significantly to the improved quality of life of nursing staff

The scientific literature on nursing audit and quality of records

Objectives: To know about the scientific production about nursing audit and to identify the importance of the nursing record in medical records for the audit. Method: Narrative literature review, it was selected articles related to nursing audit and nursing records in the electronic databases Scientific Electronic Library Online, and Latin American Literature and Caribbean Health Sciences, published between 2000 and 2010. Results: The articles analyzed indicated that there are few studies about this subject. It was identified that nursing audit is currently conducted by the retrospective method in the medical records and it is facing the accounting framework, and that nursing records are unsatisfactory quality as a tool to collect data. Conclusion: There are prospects that pass the audit to investigate the quality of care and to have an educational character that will enable the quality of care

Music therapy in nursing care in intensive care

Objective: To analyze studies nationally published that discuss the use of music in nursing care in intensive care. Method: Descriptive study, systematic review of literature type, having as object the studies published about music therapy in the intensive care unit (ICU), in national journals accessed during the month of March, 2011. Results: Most of the publications were focused on pediatric care, not directed to the ICU, indexed in the LILACS database, predominantly literature review. Conclusion: With further study and dissemination of knowledge in the scientific community, health workers and nursing satisfaction can implement music therapy in health services

Estágio supervisionado em enfermagem: visão de preceptores

The present study aimed to analyze the vision of tutors from a university hospital about supervised internship in nursing. It is a descriptive nature research with qualitative approach, developed at the University Hospital Onofre Lopes (HUOL), located in Natal/RN. The population was composed of eleven assisting nurses engaged the precentorship of undergraduate course students in nursing, from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN). For the empirical research, conducted in the period from September to November 2013, the semi-structured interview involving questions directed to the stage was used, as advocate the national curriculum guidelines, as regards this curricular component. With the consent of the institution where the study has been developed and approved by the Research Ethics Committee of UFRN, as n° 17800613.9.0000.5537, besides CAAE signing an informed consent by participants. The analysis of the information was held from the analysis of content, thematic mode. Thereby four categories were defined a priori, namely: the supervised internship in the vision of nurses; To be preceptor; The internship concerned: contributions and difficulties; Do the institutional actors communicate? The results indicate that in the view of the supervised internship preceptors is a sine qua non for the training of nurses, considering that it prepares for professional life. Besides being a moment conducive to the exercise of management and a greater rapprochement between theory and practice, stimulates the preceptor to upgrade to better exercise the function and also provides an exchange of knowledge between students and tutors, thus contributing to optimize the service. Nevertheless, the respondents indicate the existence of a distancing and little communication with the academic institution. In summary, it is realized that the nurses understand the importance of its function of tutors and supervised stage for vocational training. It is necessary, however, to reflect on the paths to be pinched in the confrontation of difficulties in this process, especially as regards the teaching/service relationship, which, while remaining at a distance, strengthens the existing dichotomy between theory and practiceO presente estudo teve como objetivo analisar a visão de preceptores de um hospital universitário acerca do estágio supervisionado em enfermagem. Trata-se de uma pesquisa de natureza descritiva, com abordagem qualitativa, desenvolvida no Hospital Universitário Onofre Lopes (HUOL), localizado em Natal-RN. A população foi composta por onze enfermeiros assistenciais que exercem a função de preceptoria de estudantes do curso de graduação em enfermagem, da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN). Para a pesquisa empírica, realizada no período de setembro a novembro de 2013, foi utilizada a entrevista a semiestruturada, envolvendo questões direcionadas ao estágio, conforme preconizam as diretrizes curriculares nacionais, no que se refere a esse componente curricular. Contou com a anuência da instituição onde se desenvolveu o estudo e a aprovação pelo Comitê de Ética em Pesquisa da UFRN, com CAAE n° 17800613.9.0000.5537, além da assinatura do Termo de Consentimento Livre e Esclarecido pelos participantes. A análise foi realizada através da análise de conteúdo, segundo Bardin, na modalidade temática. Desse modo, foram definidas, a priori, quatro categorias, assim nominadas: O estágio supervisionado na visão de enfermeiros; Ser preceptor; O estágio em questão: contribuições e dificuldades; Os agentes institucionais se comunicam? Os resultados apontam que na visão dos preceptores o estágio supervisionado é uma condição sine qua non para a formação do enfermeiro, visto que prepara para a vida profissional, além de ser um momento propício para o exercício da gerência e de uma maior aproximação entre teoria e prática; estimula o preceptor a se atualizar para melhor exercer a função e, ainda, proporciona uma troca de saberes entre alunos e preceptores, contribuindo, assim, para otimizar o serviço. Apesar disso, os entrevistados assinalam a existência de um distanciamento e pouca comunicação com a instituição acadêmica. Em síntese, percebe-se que os enfermeiros compreendem a importância de sua função de preceptores e do estágio supervisionado para a formação profissional. Faz-se necessário, porém, refletir sobre os caminhos a serem trilhados no enfrentamento das dificuldades nesse processo, sobretudo, no que diz respeito à relação ensino/serviço, que, mantendo-se distanciada, fortalece a dicotomia existente entre teoria e prátic

A VISÃO DA EQUIPE DE ENFERMAGEM SOBRE SEUS REGISTROS

El objetivo fue conocer la percepción de enfermeros acerca de sus registros y cómo están hechos. Estudio descriptivo, exploratorio, cualitativo, realizado en el Hospital Universitario Onofre Lopes en Natal/RN, Brasil, con 15 profesionales de equipo de enfermería. La recolección de datos ocurrió con entrevistas semiestructuradas sometidas a análisis de contenido temática. Los profesionales perciben sus registros como herramienta indispensable al servicio, cuyas funciones abarcan la comunicación, el apoyo legal y la evaluación del trabajo desarrollado. En su contenido hay información sobre los procedimientos realizados y pequeña descripción de los aspectos emocionales. También se comprobó que las anotaciones de enfermería se consolidan en sólo momento de la documentación, hay distorsión entre este concepto y la evolución de la enfermería. Los profesionales de enfermería comprenden la importancia, las funciones y el contenido de sus registros, todavía, necesitan mejorar su producción

The vision of the nursing team regarding their records

The aim of this research was to know the perception of nurses about their records and how they are performed. It is a Descriptive exploratory research, with qualitative approach, performed at the University Hospital Onofre Lopes in Natal/RN, with 15 professional of the nursing team. The data collection occurred with semi-structured interviews submitted to thematic content analysis. It was identified that the professionals perceive their records as an indispensable tool in the service, whose functions embrace communication, legal backing and evaluation of their work. In its content there is information about procedures performed and there is little description of the emotional aspects. Then, it was found out that the nursing records are consolidated into just a moment of documentation, with distortion between this concept and the evolution of nursing. Nursing professionals understand the importance, functions and content of their records, however, it is still necessary some improvement in their production

What has changed in the health services with the Family Health Strategy

This study aims to describe, through the nurses’ point of view, possible changes in health care to the population, since the implementation of the Family Health Strategy (FHS). It is an analytical study with a qualitative approach using semi-structured interviews. We interviewed six nurses from the city of Caicó-RN, who worked in primary care before and after the strategy. The major changes observed were: Ascription and links with the community, care and humanization of care, fewer hospital admissions, strengthening of disease prevention and health promotion and also improvement of health indicators. It is concluded that the FHS is a strategy that has made significant contributions to change the focus in the production of health services, with greater appreciation of the actions of disease prevention and health promotion

O QUE MUDOU NOS SERVIÇOS DE SAÚDE COM A ESTRATÉGIA SAÚDE DA FAMÍLIA

El objetivo fue describir, en la percepción de enfermeros, posibles cambios en la atención de salud a la población, a partir la aplicación de la Estrategia Salud de la Familia. Estudio analítico, con enfoque cualitativo, con entrevistas semiestructuradas. Se entrevistaron seis enfermeras de Caicó-RN, Brasil, que trabajaban en la atención primaria, antes y después de la estrategia. Los principales cambios observados fueron: adscripción y vínculos con la comunidade; acogimiento y humanización de la atención; menos ingresos hospitalários; fortalecimiento de la prevención de enfermedades y promoción de la salud; y mejora de los indicadores de salud. La Estrategia Salud de la Familia ha hecho contribuciones significativas para cambiar el enfoque en la producción de los servicios de salud, con mayor valoración de medidas de prevención de enfermedades y promoción de la salud

Método: Revisão bibliográfica narrativa, para qual selecionou-se artigos relacionados à auditoria em enfermagem e registros de enfermagem nas bases eletrônicas Scientific Electronic Library Online, e Literatura Latinoamericana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde, publicados entre 2000 e 2010. Resultados: Os artigos analisados sob caráter qualitativo indicaram que há poucos estudos sobre a temática. Foi identificado que auditoria de enfermagem, atualmente, é realizada pelo método retrospectivo no prontuário e está voltada para o âmbito contábil, e que os registros de enfermagem possuem qualidade insatisfatória para servir de instrumento de coleta de dados. Conclusão: Há perspectivas que a auditoria passe a investigar a qualidade do cuidado, e possuir um caráter educativo que possibilite a qualidade da assistência
