    Shield tilings

We provide a complete description of the edge-to-edge tilings with a regular triangle and a shield-shaped hexagon with no right angle. The case of a hexagon with a right angle is also briefly discussed

The microstructure of aluminum-magnesium alloy friction stir weld

Friction stir weld joint of aluminum/magnesium alloy has been structurally characterized after tensile testing. A butt-weld flaw which a surface of joining between two sheets has been revealed. This defect dictates the specificity of sample's fracture in a tensile test

Multi-faceted role of LRP1 in the immune system

Graft versus host disease (GVHD) represents the major complication after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (Allo-SCT). GVHD-prone patients rely on GVHD prophylaxis (e.g. methotrexate) and generalized anti-GVHD medical regimen (glucocorticoids). New anti-GVHD therapy strategies are being constantly explored, however there is an urgent need to improve current treatment, since GVHD-related mortality reaches 22% within 5 years in patients with chronic GVHD. This review is an attempt to describe a very well-known receptor in lipoprotein studies – the low-density lipoprotein receptor related protein 1 (LRP1) - in a new light, as a potential therapeutic target for GVHD prevention and treatment. Our preliminary studies demonstrated that LRP1 deletion in donor murine T cells results in significantly lower GVHD-related mortality in recipient mice with MHC (major histocompatibility complex) -mismatched HSCT. Given the importance of T cells in the development of GVHD, there is a significant gap in scientific literature regarding LRP1’s role in T cell biology. Furthermore, there is limited research interest and publications on this classical receptor molecule in other immune cell types. Herein, we endeavor to summarize existing knowledge about LRP1’s role in various immune cells to demonstrate the possibility of this receptor to serve as a novel target for anti-GVHD treatment

Justification of the methodological approach to formation of the parties of innovation activities in holdings

    No full text
The paper presents the problematic area of the formation of the parties of innovation activities in holdings and its methodological justification. The objective preconditions for differentiating intersubject interactions as a part of innovation activity with the participation of holdings are considered. Features of the formation of innovation strategies and goal-setting mechanisms are structured; their features in large enterprises are emphasized. The importance of determining the optimal parties of the innovation network as a factor of increasing the efficiency of implementation of innovation activity is substantiated. The external and internal environments of the holding are considered as sources of attracting participants of innovation activity. Features of the procedure for selecting the structure of innovation activity, complicated by the conditions of multi- project environment, are presented. Positive effects from the introduction of the scientific approach to the determination of the parties of innovation activity were revealed

Formation of subject composition and structure of innovative activity in the conditions of digitalization

    No full text
The article is devoted to the application of the subject-oriented approach in the management of innovative activities in the context of digitalization. The key directions of the analysis of the readiness of the enterprise for the implementation of innovations are identified and substantiated and their impact on innovative processes is characterized. The multi-subject nature is noted as one of the most significant aspects of the implementation of innovative activities by an enterprise, which affects its effectiveness. A conceptual scheme for the interaction of subjects is proposed, taking into account the specifics of innovation and focus on improving its efficiency in key areas. In order to form the optimal subject composition, a classification of the participants in the innovation network is proposed. The mechanisms of accounting for the degree of workload of an innovative subject as a consequence of the multi-project nature of the activity are considered. An algorithm has been developed for constructing the optimal subjective structure of innovation activity, based on the use of elements of graph theory in order to assess its optimality. Risks of intersubjective interaction are formulated when participants of the external environment participate in the innovation network

Synthesis of a quaternary polyprenyl ammonium salt

Reaction of primary C55-allylic alcohol moraprenol (WT3C7-9-OH, a polyprenol from mulberry leaves) with triethylamine in the presence of phosphorus oxychloride leads to a quaternary ammonium chloride with a good yield (72%) and high cis-stereoselectivity of the terminal isoprene unit. Cationic polyprenyl derivatives may be useful for transfection and immunological studies
