    Graph gradient flows : from discrete to continuum

    This paper gives a framework to study a continuum limit of a gradient flow on a graph where the number of vertices increases in an appropriate way. As examples we prove the convergence of a discrete total variation flow and a discrete Allen--Cahn flow on discretised tori to their respective continuum limits.Comment: 86 pages, 1 figur

    A Cyber Attack-Resilient Server Using Hybrid Virtualization

    AbstractThis paper describes a novel, cyber attack-resilient server using hybrid virtualization that can reduce the downtime of the server and enhance the diversity of operating systems by adding a Linux virtual machine. The hybrid virtualization consists of machine- and application-level virtualization. The prototype system virtualizes a machine using VMware ESXi, while the prototype system virtualizes a server application using Docker on a Linux virtual machine. Docker increases the speed at which a server application starts while requiring fewer resources such as memory and storage. Performance tests showed that the prototype system reduced the downtime of the DNS service by exploiting a vulnerability with no false positive detections compared with our previous work

    脳腫瘍に対する樹状細胞を用いた免疫治療における腫瘍特異的免疫反応の解析

    金沢大学医薬保健研究域医学系本研究の目的は、1)脳腫瘍に対する樹状細胞を用いた免疫治療における樹状細胞への最適な感作方法、2)樹状細胞およびTリンパ球の脳腫瘍患者生体内での動態、3)細胞障害性Tリンパ球の殺腫瘍機構(FAS系、TRAIL系、パーフォリン-グランザイム系)を解明することである。1)および2)については、主に動物実験を行う計画であり、ラット脳腫瘍モデルにおける樹状細胞を用いた免疫治療の確立中である。ただし、我々が樹状細胞を用いた免疫治療を試行した患者から得られた臨床材料にて、免疫組織化学的手法を用い、腫瘍浸潤リンパ球、頚部リンパ節および鼠けい部リンパ節を検討した。特にCD8陽性Tリンパ球の動態は、脳腫瘍内と頚部リンパ節で類似し、腫瘍浸潤リンパ球は頚部リンパ節由来である可能性が示唆された。3)については、樹状細胞を用いた免疫治療を施行の際に、^Cr放出細胞障害性試験を行った。腫瘍細胞で感作された樹状細胞により刺激された患者Tリンパ球は、培養腫瘍細胞に対し、著明な殺腫瘍効果を示した。さらに、樹状細胞を用いた免疫治療前および治療後における腫瘍内浸潤CD8陽性Tリンパ球を検討したところ、腫瘍内浸潤CD8陽性Tリンパ球数は、樹状細胞治療後は治療前に比べ約30倍に増加していた。今後は、脳腫瘍および腫瘍浸潤リンパ球のFAS-Apo1、FASL、TRAIL、グランザイムBの発現を経時的、空間的に免疫組織化学、in situ hybridization、western blottingを用い検索し、細胞障害性Tリンパ球の殺腫瘍機構について検討する予定である。研究課題/領域番号:13770762, 研究期間(年度):2001-2002出典:「脳腫瘍に対する樹状細胞を用いた免疫治療における腫瘍特異的免疫反応の解析」研究成果報告書 課題番号13770762(KAKEN:科学研究費助成事業データベース(国立情報学研究所))(https://kaken.nii.ac.jp/ja/grant/KAKENHI-PROJECT-13770762/)を加工して作

    Perovskite Solar Cells Prepared by Advanced Three-Step Method Using Additional HC(NH2)2I Spin-Coating: Efficiency Improvement with Multiple Bandgap Structure

    In the conventional two-step prepared perovskite solar cells, the CH3NH3PbI3 (MAPbI3) film usually contains an unreacted PbI2 at the interface between an electron transport layer (ETL) and a perovskite active layer. To reduce the unreacted PbI2 in the two-step prepared MAPbI3 film, we have recently reported a new three-step method, which was realized by an additional MA(I,Br) spin-coating. Here, we propose an advanced three-step method, viz., an additional HC(NH2)2I (FAI) spin-coating on the two-step prepared MAPbI3 film. The additional FAI spin-coating formed a FAxMA1–xPbI3 solid solution by the incorporation of FA ion into MAPbI3. Also, the additional FAI spin-coating yielded a FAyMA1–yPbI3 layer (y > x) by converting the unreacted PbI2, which resulted in the layered structure with different FA concentrations and hence, with the multiple bandgap structure. The best PCE of 18.1% was achieved by optimizing the FAI spin-coating process

    HIP AND LUMBOSACRAL JOINT CENTRE LOCATIONS IN ASIAN POPULATION: BIASES BY EXISTING REGRESSIONS AND DEVELOPMENT OF NEW METHODS

    Accurate prediction of the lumbosacral and hip joint centres (LSJC, HJC) is crucial for the analysis of lumbo-pelvic-hip dynamics in various movements. Here we show that pre-existing regressions proposed by European research groups produce biased estimates of the LSJC and HJC in Japanese males and females (n = 23, 24), and that the biases in LSJC depend on sex. When compared to locations directly measured by MRI, the pre-existing regressions estimated the LSJC to be more posterior in males and more inferior and posterior in females, and the HJC to be more medial for both sexes. We suggest the importance of considering racial and sexual differences in morphology. We propose new regressions for Asians and validate them using leave-one-out cross-validation. Our regression can be a powerful solution for accurate motion analysis in Asians

    Fractional time differential equations as a singular limit of the Kobayashi-Warren-Carter system

    This paper is concerned with a singular limit of the Kobayashi-Warren-Carter system, a phase field system modelling the evolutions of structures of grains. Under a suitable scaling, the limit system is formally derived when the interface thickness parameter tends to zero. Different from many other problems, it turns out that the limit system is a system involving fractional time derivatives, although the original system is a simple gradient flow. A rigorous derivation is given when the problem is reduced to a gradient flow of a single-well Modica-Mortola functional in a one-dimensional setting.Comment: 24 page
