    The strength of the analog and Gamow-Teller giant resonances and hindrance of the 2\nu\beta\beta -decay rate

    An approach for describing the hindrance of the nuclear 2\nu\beta\beta-decay amplitude is proposed. The approach is based on a new formula obtained by a model-independent transformation of the initial expression for the amplitude. This formula takes explicitly into account the hindrance of the decay-amplitude due to the presence of the collective Gamow-Teller state. Calculations are performed within the simplest version of the approach. Calculated and experimental 2\nu\beta\beta halve-lives are compared for a wide range of nuclei.Comment: 11 pages, 1 tabl

    Pulse Shape Analysis and Identification of Multipoint Events in a Large-Volume Proportional Counter in an Experimental Search for 2K Capture Kr-78

    A pulse shape analysis algorithm and a method for suppressing the noise component of signals from a large copper proportional counter in the experiment aimed at searching for 2K capture of Kr-78 are described. These signals correspond to a compound event with different numbers of charge clusters due to from primary ionization is formed by these signals. A technique for separating single- and multipoint events and determining the charge in individual clusters is presented. Using the Daubechies wavelets in multiresolutional signal analysis, it is possible to increase the sensitivity and the resolution in extraction of multipoint events in the detector by a factor of 3-4.Comment: 10 pages, 8 figures. submitted to Instruments and Experimental Techniques; ISSN 0020/441

    Влияние осушительной мелиорации на радиальный прирост сосновых и дубовых древостоев в условиях Житомирского Полесья

    Наведено результати дослідження радіального приросту соснових і дубових деревостанів в умовах Житомирського Полісся під впливом осушувальної меліорації. Проаналізовано закономiрностi динаміки річного приросту сосни звичайної (Pinus sylvestris L.) і дуба звичайного (Quercus robur L.), його зв'язок залежно від впливу меліорації і без неї. Осушувальна меліорація практично не вплинула на величину приросту пізньої деревини сосни, як у деревостанах VII, так і ІХ класів віку, проте приріст ранньої деревини під впливом меліорації виявися меншим.Вплив меліорації на радіальний приріст дерев дуба VII-го класу віку виявився позитивним. Відзначено збільшення приросту пізньої деревини дуба майже на 80 %.The results of the investigation of radial increment of pine and oak stands in Zhytomyr Polissya under the influence of drainage reclamation are shown. Some patterns of dynamics for annual increment of pine and oak were analysed depending on the effect of land reclamation. Virtually, drainage reclamation had no influence on the amount of the increment of autumn pine wood in stands of VII and IX age classes, but the increment of spring wood was lower under the influence of reclamation. The influence of reclamation on the radial increment of oak trees of age class VII was positive. An increase in oak autumn wood increment of almost 80 % was noted.Приведены результаты исследований радиального прироста сосновых и дубовых древостоев в условиях Житомирского Полесья под влиянием осушительной мелиорации. Проанализированы закономерности динамики годового прироста сосны и дуба, его связь в зависимости от влияния мелиорации и без нее. Осушительная мелиорация практически не повлияла на величину прироста поздней древесины сосны, как в древостоях VII, так и IХ классов возраста, однако прирост ранней древесины под воздействием мелиорации оказался меньше. Влияние мелиорации на радиальный прирост деревьев дуба VII класса возраста – положительный. Отмечено увеличение прироста поздней древесины дуба почти на 80 %

    Multicolour modelling of SN 2013dx associated with GRB 130702A

    International audienceWe present optical observations of SN 2013dx, related to the Fermi burst GRB 130702A, which occurred at red shift z = 0.145. It is the second-best sampled gamma-ray burst (GRB)/supernova (SN) after SN 1998bw. The observational light curves contain more than 280 data points in the uBgrRiz filters until 88 d after the burst, and the data were collected from our observational collaboration (Maidanak Observatory, Abastumani Observatory, Crimean Astrophysical Observatory, Mondy Observatory, National Observatory of Turkey and Observatorio del Roque de los Muchachos) and from the literature. We model numerically the multicolour light curves using the one-dimensional radiation hydrodynamical code stella, previously widely implemented for modelling typical non-GRB SNe. The best-fitting model has the following parameters: pre-SN star mass M = 25 M_⊙; mass of the compact remnant M_CR = 6 M_⊙; total energy of the outburst E_oburst = 3.5 × 10^52 erg; pre-supernova star radius R = 100 R_⊙; M56Ni=0.2MM_{\rm ^{56}Ni} = 0.2 \,\rm M_{\odot }, which is totally mixed through the ejecta; M_O = 16.6 M_⊙; M_Si = 1.2 M_⊙ and M_Fe = 1.2 M_⊙, and the radiative efficiency of the SN is 0.1 per cent
