Metalobezoares: uma revisão de escopo

Objetivo:  realizar uma revisão de literatura do tipo narrativa para abordar os bezoares  e o seu principal acometimento, explanando com maior enfoque o metalobezoar, que é o mais raro. Revisão bibliográfica: A ingestão de corpo estranho pode ser voluntária ou involuntária, sendo mais frequente em crianças, idosos, dependentes químicos e pacientes com distúrbios psiquiátricos. As manifestações clínicas geralmente são inespecíficas, insidiosas e progressivas, às vezes intermitentes, e apresentam estreita relação sintomática com o local, geralmente não apresentam sintomas, mas, quando apresentam, a grande maioria relata desconforto abdominal superior. O diagnóstico é feito com base na história clínica apenas quando conhecida a ingestão compulsiva ou crônica de materiais susceptíveis ou, em muitos casos, ocasionalmente por radiografia simples do abdômen ou endoscopia digestiva. A associação da presença de metalobezoar com distúrbios psiquiátricos é relevante, por conta disso avaliação e apoio psicológicos são os objetivos finais do tratamento. Considerações finais: A despeito da baixa incidência, metalobezoares devem ser considerados nos diagnósticos diferenciais de pacientes com distúrbios psiquiátricos que se apresentam com dor em andar superior do abdome e/ou vômitos

Canine cutaneous mast cell tumor: a retrospective study : Mastocitoma cutâneo canino: estudo retrospectivo

O mastocitoma cutâneo (MCT) é uma neoplasia de células redondas caracterizada pela proliferação de mastócitos e possui uma grande variação de potencial metastático. O presente estudo teve como objetivo analisar a frequência de MCT cutâneo canino quanto à raça, sexo, idade, localização anatômica e grau histológico. Os dados foram obtidos dos registros dos casos diagnosticados entre 2014 e 2018 na cidade de Niterói - RJ. Os animais mais acometidos foram os sem raça definda (SRD) seguidos da raça Boxer e Labrador. Os locais mais acometidos foram membros, região anogenital e abdome. O MCT cutâneo canino é mais frequente no grau I, na população canina mais velha e nos animais sem raça definida

Worldwide trends in underweight and obesity from 1990 to 2022: a pooled analysis of 3663 population-representative studies with 222 million children, adolescents, and adults

Background Underweight and obesity are associated with adverse health outcomes throughout the life course. We estimated the individual and combined prevalence of underweight or thinness and obesity, and their changes, from 1990 to 2022 for adults and school-aged children and adolescents in 200 countries and territories. Methods We used data from 3663 population-based studies with 222 million participants that measured height and weight in representative samples of the general population. We used a Bayesian hierarchical model to estimate trends in the prevalence of different BMI categories, separately for adults (age ≥20 years) and school-aged children and adolescents (age 5–19 years), from 1990 to 2022 for 200 countries and territories. For adults, we report the individual and combined prevalence of underweight (BMI <18·5 kg/m2) and obesity (BMI ≥30 kg/m2). For schoolaged children and adolescents, we report thinness (BMI <2 SD below the median of the WHO growth reference) and obesity (BMI >2 SD above the median). Findings From 1990 to 2022, the combined prevalence of underweight and obesity in adults decreased in 11 countries (6%) for women and 17 (9%) for men with a posterior probability of at least 0·80 that the observed changes were true decreases. The combined prevalence increased in 162 countries (81%) for women and 140 countries (70%) for men with a posterior probability of at least 0·80. In 2022, the combined prevalence of underweight and obesity was highest in island nations in the Caribbean and Polynesia and Micronesia, and countries in the Middle East and north Africa. Obesity prevalence was higher than underweight with posterior probability of at least 0·80 in 177 countries (89%) for women and 145 (73%) for men in 2022, whereas the converse was true in 16 countries (8%) for women, and 39 (20%) for men. From 1990 to 2022, the combined prevalence of thinness and obesity decreased among girls in five countries (3%) and among boys in 15 countries (8%) with a posterior probability of at least 0·80, and increased among girls in 140 countries (70%) and boys in 137 countries (69%) with a posterior probability of at least 0·80. The countries with highest combined prevalence of thinness and obesity in school-aged children and adolescents in 2022 were in Polynesia and Micronesia and the Caribbean for both sexes, and Chile and Qatar for boys. Combined prevalence was also high in some countries in south Asia, such as India and Pakistan, where thinness remained prevalent despite having declined. In 2022, obesity in school-aged children and adolescents was more prevalent than thinness with a posterior probability of at least 0·80 among girls in 133 countries (67%) and boys in 125 countries (63%), whereas the converse was true in 35 countries (18%) and 42 countries (21%), respectively. In almost all countries for both adults and school-aged children and adolescents, the increases in double burden were driven by increases in obesity, and decreases in double burden by declining underweight or thinness. Interpretation The combined burden of underweight and obesity has increased in most countries, driven by an increase in obesity, while underweight and thinness remain prevalent in south Asia and parts of Africa. A healthy nutrition transition that enhances access to nutritious foods is needed to address the remaining burden of underweight while curbing and reversing the increase in obesit

A doença por coronavírus (COVID-19) é uma doença infeciosa causada pelo vírus SARS-CoV-2, afetando além do pulmão outros órgãos, esse estudo tem como foco a tentativa de esclarecer como a COVID-19 afeta a tireoide e suas consequências. A pesquisa foi realizada apenas por artigos internacionais. Foi possível descrever um pouco sobre a tempestade de toxinas que afetam a tireoide e quais foram as repercussões para o corpo, como o desenvolvimento de tireoidites ou eventos cardiovasculares e tromboembólicos. Por fim, percebe-se que a COVID-19 é uma doença multisistêmica e deve ser melhor estudada para um melhor entendimento da sua fisiopatologia e consequentemente uma melhor abordagem terapêutica

O livro Luz e Poesia: ensaios é resultado do Projeto de Extensão intitulado: Ciclope: coletivo fotográfico, desenvolvido no Instituto de Ciências Sociais, Educação e Zootecnia (ICSEZ), da Universidade Federal do Amazonas, campus - Parintins, coordenado até setembro de 2018 pelo professor Iury Bueno. Após seu falecimento, a coordenação do PACE ficou sob a responsabilidade do professor Carlos Jorge Barros Monteiro. A proposta desta obra se delineia sob a luz da poética, entre a imagem e a palavra; fotografia e poesia, dividindo as páginas que o caro leitor contemplará. Neste espaço, algo a mais será compartilhado para com o público, além do deleite estético que o livro apresenta. Trará, à luz do conhecimento empírico e literário, a proposta de diluição da subjetividade. Assim, caro leitor, não verás nas páginas deste livro, nas fotografias e poesias nelas escritas a identificação dos autores, pois a proposta central do projeto foi a produção imagética e literária de forma coletiva. Desse modo, o livro não possui um só rosto, mas um multifacetado e pluralidades que se encaminham para um só objetivo: a coletividade em prol da cultura e da expressão artística. Estas diferentes narrativas, construídas coletivamente pelos alunos, participantes do projeto se encaixam em capítulos. Cada um com sua poética, e em cada palavra, o elo entre essas duas linguagens, imagem e verbo, foto e verso, tão distintas em alguns aspectos, porém tão semelhantes em sua essência. Ao mesmo tempo, o livro é um meio de registro documental para homenagear o professor Iury Carlos Bueno, que está presente em cada página, por meio de seus ensinamentos em sala de aula, como luz que guiou cada aluno na busca pelo conhecimento. Assim, a justificativa do título do livro “Luz e Poesia”. Fotografia é luz! E suas imagens, como os rostos em paredes descascadas, tão característicos de sua obra, tornaram-se luz para as nossas mentes, e por meio dela nos guiou para construirmos esta obra.
