    Coral Reef Spatial Distribution in Wangi-wangi Island Waters, Wakatobi

    Coral reefs contribute significant benefits in coastal area in Wangi-wangi Island, Wakatobi in terms of their ecological functions to marine biota and socio-economical services to local coastal communities. Therefore, it is importance to observe coral reef condition and its spatial distribution around Wangi-wangi island waters, Wakatobi. In this study Point Intercept Transect (PIT) and GIS tools were used to observe and analyze coral reef condition in Wangi-wangi island waters, Wakatobi. The results showed that coral reef condition in Wangi-wangi island waters can be categorized into moderate and good conditions with coverage percentage ranging from 28 – 60%. Based on spatial analysis non-acropora coral was found in greater cover percentages in Waha village, Sombu village, and Kapota island than other locations. Soft coral cover percentage was also found in larger cover percentage in Waha and Sombu regions than other locations

    The purpose of this research is to discuss the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad Saw. about the prohibition of getting tattooed. This research method is qualitative through the approach of takhrij and syarah hadith with chemical analysis. The results and discussion of this research is about the dangers of tattooing skin and plastic surgery because both processes use dangerous chemicals that can damage the body and are prohibited in Islam because they include activities that change Allah creation. The conclusion of this research is takhrij and syarah hadith of the Prophet Muhammad Saw. about the prohibition of being tattooed with chemical analysis which is a trend in the era of modern people's lifestyle

    Synthesis and electronic properties of π-extended flavins

    Flavin derivatives with an extended π-conjugation were synthesized in moderate to good yields from aryl bromides via a Buchwald–Hartwig palladium catalyzed amination protocol, followed by condensation of the corresponding aromatic amines with violuric acid. The electronic properties of the new compounds were investigated by absorption and emission spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry, density functional theory (DFT) and time dependent density functional theory (TDDFT). The compounds absorb up to 550 nm and show strong luminescence. The photoluminescence quantum yields ϕPL measured in dichloromethane reach 80% and in PMMA (poly(methyl methacrylate)) 77%, respectively, at ambient temperature. The electrochemical redox behaviour of π-extended flavins follows the mechanism previously described for the parent flavin

    Prevalensi Balita gizi kurang di Puskesmas KU pada tahun 2013 sebesar 7,4% dan terjadi peningkatan dari Januari hingga April 2014 yaitu 6,47% mencapai 9%. Di tahun 2013 terdapat 1481balita di wilayah KU dengan 110 Balita gizi kurang (7,4%). Oleh karena itu gizi kurang pada Balita di daerah ini patut mendapat perhatian dan dilakukan program intervensi untuk memperbaiki kondisi tersebut. Identifikasi masalah dengan paradigma Blum, untuk mengetahui faktor penyebab permasalahan, penentuan prioritas masalah dengan non-scoring technigueDe/beque,dan penentuan alternatif penatalaksanaan dengan Fishbone Diagram. Setelah ditetapkan alternatif penatalaksanaan sebagai intervensiyang akan dilaksanakan, tahap intervensi diawali dengan penetapan target menggunakan Logframe Goals, penyusunanPianning of Action {POA), penetapan indikator keberhasilan dan pengawasan rutin setiap minggunya denganPian-Do-Check-Act(PDCA)cycle. Darihasil analisis penyebab masalah adalah lifestyle berupa kebiasaan makan yang buruk mulai dari frekuensi, porsi dan jenis makanan yang kurang bergizi serta kebiasaan anak dan keluarganya yang sering jajan, tidak mencuci tangan, kurang menjaga kebersihan alat makan dan seringkali malas menyiapkan makanan. Subyek penelitiannya adalah 5 Balita dengan gizi kurang.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah memperbaiki permasalahan gizi kurang yang terjadipada Balita di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Kelurahan KU. Intervensi yang dilakukan berupa perbaikan pola makan dengan memberikan KIE (KomunikasiInformasi dan Edukasi) tentang makanan bergizi, cara cuci tangan yang benar dengan dipraktikkan langsung, kebersihan alat makan dan penimbangan Balita gizi kurangnya setiap minggu selama waktu intervensi. Indikator keberhasilan apabila dalam makanan Balita terpenuhi 4 komponen gizi sebanyak minimal 3 haritiap 7 hariselama 14 hari periode intervensi dengan harapan kenaikan berat badan minimal 100 gram setiap minggu. Hasilnya dari 5 orangtua Balita semuanya memahami pola makan yang baik dan dari 5 Balita,3 Balita naik berat badannya. Disarankan agar para ibu tetap mempertahankan pemberian pola makan yang sehat dan kebiasaan cuci tangan serta kebersihan alat makan tetap dijaga

    A multidisciplinary monitoring network at Mayon volcano, Philippines : a collaborative effort between PHIVOLCS and EOS

    Mount Mayon in Albay province (Philippines) is an openly-degassing basaltic-andesitic stratovolcano, located on the northern edge of the northwest-trending OAS graben. Its latest eruptions were in Aug-Sept 2006 and Dec 2009. Mayon’s current status is PHIVOLCS’ level 1 with low seismicity dominated mostly local and regional tectonic earthquakes and continuous emission of SO2 from its summit crater. A research collaboration between the Earth Observatory of Singapore-NTU and the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) was initiated in 2009, aimed at developing a multi-disciplinary monitoring network around Mayon.Published versio
