    USAHA PENINGKATAN KETERAMPILAN GURU SEKOLAH MENENGAH MUHAMMADIYAH KAB GUNUNGKIDUL: PENDAYAGUNAAN LECTORA SEBAGAI MEDIA AJAR

    Sebuah  kegiatan  peningkatan  keterampilan  guru  telah  diadakan  di  kalangan  sekolah  menengah pertama di wilayah Kabupaten Gunungkidul  pada periode libur semester gasal tahun ajaran 2017/2018. Kegiatan  pelatihan  TIK  kali  ini  mengundang  tenaga  pendidik  dari  sekolah-sekolah  menengah  Muhammadiyah  di  bawah  pengelolaan  Majelis  Pendidikan  Dasar  dan  Menengah  (Dikdasmen) PDM Gunungkidul.  Tujuan yang ingin dicapai antara lain pengayaan keterampilan tenaga pendidik di bidang TIK sebagai media pendukung kegiatan belajar mengajar di kelas. Dengan peningkatan keterampilan guruguru  sebagai  tenaga  pendidik  melalui  TIK, diharapkan  dapat  mendukung  tercapainya  pemenuhan kompetensi guru-guru di SMP Muhammadiyah di Kabupaten Gunungkidul secara terprogram. Di bagian akhir pelaksanaan, peserta diminta untuk mengumpulkan feedback mengenai kegiatan pelatihan yang telah diikuti. Lebih dari 80% peserta yang hadir menyatakan tingkat kepuasan yang baik terhadap materi, pelaksana, dan kemanfaatan karya yang telah mereka hasilkan. Target usabilitas karya juga telah tercapai sebagai media belajar untuk diaplikasikan di semester genap tahun ajaran 2017/2018

    A scoping review on factors influencing milk consumption behavior among adults

    Introduction; Milk and dairy products are good sources of high-quality protein. Protein is important during weight loss and subsequent weight maintenance due to the high satiating effect which helps to prevent over-consumption of energy and thereby reduces body fat stores. Furthermore, dairy protein is a good source of essential amino acids for muscle protein synthesis and thus helps to maintain metabolically active muscle mass during weight loss. Regarding milk consumption, it is important to find the association between personal, environmental and behaviour factors with milk consumption. Objective; The aim of the study was to identify factors influencing milk consumption behaviour among adults. Methods; This study was based on the literature review and on different case studies from different parts of the world to fulfill the main scope of factors influencing milk consumption. Results; Based on this review, environmental factors were found to be the main influences on milk consumption behaviour, followed by personal factors and behaviour factors. Conclusion This review is also expected to enrich the documentation on the influencing of milk consumption behaviour among adults

    Community empowerment for malaria control and prevention in Kampung Tong Nibong, Sarawak: an intervention study

    Introduction Tong Nibong is a Bidayuh village located at Sarawak Kalimantan border. Since the year 2004 to 2009, a total of 537 cases of malaria were recorded in Serian District of which 14 cases were reported from Kampung Tong Nibong. Community empowerment programme for malaria infection prevention showed tremendous improvement in implementation. This intervention study aims to gauge the effectiveness of community empowerment approach in malaria elimination programme in Kampung Tong Nibong Serian. Methods An intervention study was conducted with pre and post data collection. Data was collected using validated questionnaire by face to face interview. Universal sampling method was used to select respondents from head of household and post data was collected after intervention activities were carried out within a year of study period. Results The study showed significant difference on level of knowledge of respondents on vector of malaria between pre and post data with a P < 0.05. There was significant difference between pre and post data on practices on control and prevention of malaria with a P < 0.05. The same goes to level of positive attitude of respondents towards malaria control. Conclusions In conclusion, the study can be considered successful because there is significant difference in knowledge, attitude and practice among the respondents between pre and post data. This indicates that community empowerment (voluntary participation) measures can be implemented in high risk or endemic areas where malaria is a persistent problem to the community and health institutions faces many limiting factors

    Contributing Factors to Decline in Physical Activity Among Adolescents: A Scoping Review

    It is presumed that the level of physical activity (PA) declines during a person’s lifespan, particularly during adolescence. The main objective of this scoping review is to summarize and identify the current literature that addresses contributing factors related to adolescent physical inactivity. This scoping review was carried out using the framework suggested by Arskey and O'Malley. The literature review was undertaken using the reference period between 2008 and 2014, based primarily on the PubMed, Cochrane and Embase databases. Additional studies have been identified by a manual bibliography search. Search term included adolescent / youth / teenage, factors / determinants /correlations, and physical inactivity/decline exercise. A total of 23 studies met the inclusion criteria. This scoping review found some evidence of the association between physical inactivity and the following variables: Age, sex, socio-economic status, lack of social support from parents, family and friends have had an impact on their motivation to perform PA on a continuous basis. Also, the lack of awareness, attitudes, and practices of individuals themselves for not doing PA has affected their interest in maintaining PA. It is noted that the environment also plays an important role, such as inadequate facilities and facilities, as well as an unsuitable place or setting that is unconducive and a neighbourhood that does not take care of or is aware of a healthy lifestyle, is also a contributing factor to physical inactivity. The decline in PA during adolescence is a consistent finding in the literature. However, PA interventions should be developed through education, family programs, behavioural or environmental and policy changes

    Highly porous bi(III) modified rice husk silica photocatalyst for the photocatalytic removal of cationic methylene blue

    A series of bismuth-silicate photocatalysts were synthesized via the sol-gel method for photodegradation of methylene blue (MB) under sunlight irradiation, utilizing rice husk ash as a silica precursor. The scanning electron microscopy/energy dispersive X-ray (SEM/EDX) analysis detected Bi content in 3-10 wt% range. Furthermore, it can be seen that the porosity decreased as the Bi concentration increased. The N2 adsorption-desorption analysis indicates the presence of mesopores with an average diameter of 297-554 Å with Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) surface area of 5.6-30.5 m2/g. The photocatalyst with a Bi concentration of 4 wt% (RHSBi-A2) was the most active in the photodegradation of MB; the removal reached 90% within 4 h. The photodegradation is proposed to be driven by superoxide (O2⦁−), hydroxyl (•OH) radicals, and hole (h+) based on the valence band (VB) and conduction band (CB) potentials. The porous silica framework is proposed to act as an electron reservoir, allowing better MB adsorption and enhancing light absorption

    Skripsi ini membahas tentang Penerapan Model pembelajaran Pumping Student dalam Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar pada Mata Pelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam di Sekolah Menengah Pertama Negeri 4 Kasimbar dengan rumusan permasalahan yakni bagaimana penerapan model pembelajaran pumping student dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar pada mata pelajaran pendidikan agama Islam di Sekolah Menengah Pertama Negeri 4 Kasimbar? dan bagaimana implikasi penerapan model pembelajaran pumping student dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar pada mata pelajaran pendidikan agama Islam di Sekolah Menengah Pertama Negeri 4 Kasimbar?.Menjawab permasalahan tersebut, penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan metode kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi, serta menggunakan teknik analisis data melalui reduksi data, penyajian data, verifikasi data dan penarikan kesimpulan.Hasil penelitian skripsi ini yakni:penerapan model pembelajaran pumping student dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar pada mata pelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam di Sekolah Menengah Pertama Negeri 4 Kasimbar yakni: (1) sebelum menerapkan model pembelajaran ini, guru mengidentifikasi gaya belajar siswa yang dilakukan diawal semester genap kelas VII, agar dapat menyesuaikan tentang cara memompa semangat belajar siswa (2) guru mengelompokkan peserta didik berdasarkan gaya belajar visual, audio, dan kinestetik (3) dalam membuat RPP guru mencantumkan model pembelajaran pumping student dan menganalisa metode, teknik dan media yang akan digunakan sesuai dengan gaya belajar siswa (4) guru menerapkan model pembelajaran pumping student dengan memperhatikan gaya belajar siswa untuk memompa motivasi belajar siswa (5) pada gaya belajar visual guru menekankan pembelajaran secara visual, misalnya menggunakan media gambar atau teks materi, pada gaya belajar audio guru menekankan pembelajaran dengan menceramahkan materi pelajaran secara berulang-ulang dan pada gaya belajar kinestetik selain menceramahkan materi dengan diserta gerakan tubuh dan demonstrasi guru menekankan praktek-praktek pada materi pelajaran praktek (6) guru mengevaluasi pembelajaran dan melakukan remedial bagi peserta didik yang tidak tuntas dengan pemberian tugas sesuai dengan gaya belajar peserta didik.     Pencarian maklumat pendermaan organ dan tisu dalam pengikrar penderma organ: satu tinjauan awal

    Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengenal pasti pencarian maklumat pendermaan organ dan tisu dalam kalangan pengikrar penderma organ. Pengumpulan data dibuat dengan menggunakan borang soal selidik yang diisi sendiri oleh responden. Kajian ini telah melibatkan seramai 245 orang responden yang terdiri daripada mereka yang telah mendaftar sebagai pengikrar penderma organ. Responden dipilih berdasarkan kaedah persampelan bertujuan di empat buah pusat sumber transplan. Pencarian maklumat diukur melalui sumber media yang digunakan (media massa dan interpersonal), tumpuan maklumat, kecukupan maklumat, kepercayaan maklumat, usaha mencari maklumat, punca mencari maklumat dan mencari maklumat lanjut. Data yang dibincangkan ini adalah sebahagian dari hasil kajian yang dijalankan. Hasil kajian mendapati, surat khabar, televisyen, poster dan risalah menjadi sumber maklumat utama media massa sementara anggota kesihatan dan doktor menjadi pilihan untuk saluran interpersonal. Manakala poster telah diberi tumpuan dengan begitu kerap berbanding dengan media lain. Bagi kepercayaan maklumat, doktor dan anggota kesihatan telah diberi kepercayaan oleh responden bagi mendapatkan maklumat. Walaupun usaha mencari maklumat di kalangan responden adalah tinggi, namun dari segi kecukupan maklumat, majoriti responden menganggap maklumat masih lagi sederhana mencukupi.     Synthesis and characterisation of Li-modified g-C3N4

    Graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) is of great interest in photolysis. However, g-C3N4 suffers from a fast recombination rate of photogenerated electron and hole (e-/h+ ) pairs. It is hypothesised that surface modification of g-C3N4 with alkali metals is able to suppress the recombination rate of photogenerated e-/h+ pairs. Hence, in the present research, a series of lithium modified g-C3N4 (xLi/g-C3N4 (x = 2.7, 5.0 and 9.0 wt%)) nanocomposites were synthesised by impregnating g-C3N4 with LiOH. The synthesised nanocomposites were characterised using x-ray powder diffraction (XRD), inductive coupled plasma mass spectroscopy (ICP-MS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), uv–vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS UV–Vis), high resolution electron microscopy (HRTEM), photoluminescence (PL), Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) and thermogravimetric (TGA) analyses. The TGA analysis showed that the thermal stability of the Li/g-C3N4 decreased compared to g-C3N4 due to the enlarged interlayer distance over g-C3N4. The XRD analysis indicates that a larger distance of the in-planar structure motif of g-C3N4 downshifted the (0 0 2) diffraction line of the g-C3N4 from 27.60 to 26.83 and weakened its intensity after doping. Increasing the Li+ concentration transformed the Li/g-C3N4 into a disordered graphite nanocomposite. The IR peak intensity at 2174 cm1 associated with the defect terminal –C-N increased when the Li+ concentration was increased, indicating that the incorporation of Li+ reduced the degree of melamine condensation and formed g-C3N4 with more defect sites. The HRTEM images showed that the g-C3N4 thin nanosheet structure became uneven and wrinkled after doping. Rock-like particles were observed when the Li+ concentration exceeds 5 wt% Li/g-C3N4. Similar rock-like and plate-like particles with voids were observable in the nanocomposites’ SEM images. The UV–Vis analysis indicates that Li+ doping reduced visible light sensitivity of the Li/g-C3N4 nanocomposites compared to g-C3N4, possibly due to the distortion of the g-C3N4 planar structure. The PL analysis indicates that the photogenerated recombination rate e-/h+ pairs were suppressed even though the sensitivity towards visible light decreased

    The Effects of Zinc Oxide (ZnO) Quantum Dots (QDs) Embedment on the Physicochemical Properties and Photocatalytic Activity of Titanium Dioxide (TiO2) Nanoparticles

    In this study, a detailed investigation on the effect of zinc oxide (ZnO) quantum dots (QDs) embedment on the physicochemical properties of anatase titanium dioxide (TiO2) was conducted. The highly porous nanocomposite labelled as ZQT was prepared via the sol-gel assisted hydrothermal method. The powder X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis indicates that the average crystallite size of the ZnO QDs, anatase TiO2 (TiO2 NPs) and ZQT were 4.45 nm, 9.22 nm and 11.38 nm, respectively. Photoluminescent (PL) analysis detected the presence of defects related to TiO2, oxygen vacancies and quantum confinement effect (QCE) of the ZnO QDs in ZQT. These features enhanced the photodegradation of tetracycline (TC) under 48 watt of fluorescent light irradiation when ZQT (98.0%) was used compared to TiO2 NPs (32.4%) and ZnO QDs (68.8%).
