Fasilitas ini dilengkapi dengan galeri K-Pop, kursus tari, stage pertunjukan, cafe dan juga restoran. Pendekatan simbolik diambil untuk dapat menggambarkan ciri khas Korean Pop baik secara ekspresif bangunan maupun pembagian ruang (zoning) di dalamnya. Happiness Index in Belfast, Northern Ireland

Northern Ireland (NI), which was torn apart by the Troubles in the late 20th century, has a history of political and socioeconomic hardships and thus currently harbors many social conditions that typically would be connected to lower life satisfaction (BBC, European Commission). However, NI’s happiness index is the highest of the countries in the UK, and higher than that of the United States (ONS, OECD). One proposed explanation for this apparent contradiction is that NI\u27s happiness is due to a strong social capital (ONS). In order to explore the relationships between happiness, social capital, and socioeconomic status, I surveyed 30 randomly selected residents of Belfast, NI about their life satisfaction as well as other factors such as their volunteering frequency and the influence of their religious beliefs. By performing statistical analyses on the survey data and mapping responses to different districts of Belfast, we explore correlations (if any) between happiness and a variety of social/socioeconomic factors. The occurrence and inter-rater reliability of myofascial trigger points in the quadratus lumborum and gluteus medius: A prospective study in non-specific low back pain patients and controls in general practice

The presence of a trigger point is essential to the myofascial pain syndrome. This study centres on identifying clearer criteria for the presence of trigger points in the quadratus lumborum and gluteus medius muscle by investigating the occurrence and inter-rater reliability of trigger point symptoms. Using the symptoms and signs as described by Simons' 1990 definition and two other former sets of criteria, 61 non-specific low back pain patients and 63 controls were examined in general practice by 5 observers, working in pairs. From the two major criteria of Simons' 1990 definition only ‘localized tenderness’ has good discriminative ability and inter-rater reliability (kappa > 0.5). This study does not find proof for the clinical usefulness of ‘referred pain’, which has neither of these two abilities. The criteria ‘jump sign’ and ‘recognition’, on the condition that localized tenderness is present, also have good discriminative ability and inter-rater reliability. Trigger points defined by the criteria found eligible in this study allow significant distinction between non-specific low back pain patients and controls. This is not the case with trigger points defined by Simons' 1990 criteria. Concerning reliability there is also a significant difference between the two different criteria sets. This study suggests that the clinical usefulness of trigger points is increased when localized tenderness and the presence of either jump sign or patient's recognition of his pain complaint are used as criteria for the presence of trigger points in the M. quadratus lumborum and the M. gluteus medius

Adaptasi Karakter Aksara Batak Toba dalam Huruf Latin

Aksara adalah salah satu warisan budaya tradisional yang perlu mendapat perhatian khusus. Hal ini dikarenakan secara fungsi, aksara sudah tidak lagi dipandang sebagai suatu kebutuhan media komunikasi dan tertindas oleh efektivitas huruf latin yang telah mewabah ke seluruh aspek komunikasi global. Hal ini dikhawatirkan akan menyebabkan punahnya aksara Nusantara. Kunci yang paling efektif untuk mengatasi kekhawatiran tersebut adalah melalui teknologi huruf. Dimana aksara tradisional dapat difungsikan sebagai sumber inspirasi typeface komputer tanpa menggeser efektivitas huruf latin.Perancangan desain typeface huruf latin dengan karakter Aksara Batak Toba ditempuh antara lain melalui proses penelitian konstruksi visual, anatomi huruf dan kajian elemen-elemen geometris terhadap huruf latin (Roman) dan aksara Batak Toba yang menghasilkan pola dasar desain huruf. Tujuan final seluruh proses penelitian adalah mewujudnyatakan karakter aksara Batak Toba (aksara silabik) ke dalam huruf latin (aksara fonetik) dalam bentuk font komputer yang fungsional

Organic architecture: its origin, development and impact on mid 20th century Melbourne architecture

Australia in the early 50s followed a decade or so of frenzy activities in the visual arts. This resurgence of Australian art which led to its recognition in the UK and the United States also brought about a renewed recognition in the quality of domestic architecture. New boundaries in the design of the Australian home were being redefined, both in theory as well as in practice. Although the decades between the two Great Wars saw the importation of such influences as the Californian Bungalow and Art Deco styles (shades of Dudok, Mendelsohn etc.), it was during the post-war years that the term organic architecture that was much discussed by a wide range of practitioners of the time. This research aims to trace the journey of organic architecture from its origin to Australia and provide some insight into the workings of those who claimed to have practiced it
