The Generalized Spectral Kurtosis Estimator

Due to its conceptual simplicity and its proven effectiveness in real-time detection and removal of radio frequency interference (RFI) from radio astronomy data, the Spectral Kurtosis (SK) estimator is likely to become a standard tool of a new generation of radio telescopes. However, the SK estimator in its original form must be developed from instantaneous power spectral density (PSD) estimates, and hence cannot be employed as an RFI excision tool downstream of the data pipeline in existing instruments where any time averaging is performed. In this letter, we develop a generalized estimator with wider applicability for both instantaneous and averaged spectral data, which extends its practical use to a much larger pool of radio instruments.Comment: 5 pages, 2 figures, MNRAS Letters accepte

Hubungan Pengalaman Kerja dan Kelelahan dengan Kecelakaan Kerja di Bagian Operasional PT. Energi Mega Persada (Emp) Gelam Muaro Jambi Tahun 2016

PT. Energi Mega Persada (EMP) Gelam adalah Perusahaan yang mengolah dan memproduksikanminyak dan gas yang ada di lapangan Sungai Gelam. Kecelakaan kerja adalah kejadian yang yangjelas tidak dikehendaki dan sering kali tidak terduga semula yang dapat menimbulkan kerugian.Menurut data yang diperoleh masih ditemukan kecelakaan kerja ringan sehingga penelitian inidilakukan untuk mencegah terjadinya kecelakaan yang lebih berat. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalahuntuk mengetahui Hubungan Pengalaman Kerja dan Kelelahan dengan Kecelakaan Kerja di BagianOperasional PT. Energi Mega Persada (EMP) Gelam Muaro Jambi Tahun 2016.Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain cross sectional. Penelitian inimenggunakan data primer berupa kuesioner. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada tanggal 18-22 Agustus2016 di PT. Energi Mega Persada (EMP) Gelam di bagian operasional. Sampel sebanyak 33 orangdan untuk melihat hubungan antar variabel dilakukan uji statistik dengan chi-square.Hasil uji statistik diperoleh bahwa pekerja dengan pengalaman kerja baru < 1 tahun pernahmengalami kecelakaan kerja (91,7%) dengan nilai p-Value 0,007, Pekerja yang mengalami kelelahanpernah mengalami Kecelakaan Kerja (77,3%) dengan nilai p-Value 0,008 dengan kecelakaan kerjakarena p-Value < 0,05.Perusahaan hendaknya lebih menyesuaikan waktu istirahat pekerja dengan beban kerja yang beratseperti memberikan tambahan waktu isirahat yang tepat. Mewajibkan mengikuti training ataupelatihan sesuai pekerjaan atau pelatihan k3 agar pekerja lebih menguasai pekerjaan

Specific Plateaus of the Quantum Hall Effect Induced by an Applied Bias

The spectrum and the eigenstates of a finite 2D tight-binding electronic system, with Dirichlet boundary conditions, in magnetic field and external linear potential are studied. The eigenstates show an equipotential character and may cross the plaquette in the direction perpendicular to the electric field. When leads are added to the plaquette, the channels carrying the current may be shortcut by equipotentials, resulting in additional plateaus situated inbetween the usual IQHE plateaus. This idea is confirmed by a numerical calculation within the four-terminal Landauer-B\"{u}ttiker approach.Comment: 9 pages, revtex, 2 gif figures and 5 postscript figure

New Interactive Solar Flare Modeling and Advanced Radio Diagnostics Tools

The coming years will see routine use of solar data of unprecedented spatial and spectral resolution, time cadence, and completeness in the wavelength domain. To capitalize on the soon to be available radio facilities such as the expanded OVSA, SSRT and FASR, and the challenges they present in the visualization and synthesis of the multi-frequency datasets, we propose that realistic, sophisticated 3D active region and flare modeling is timely now and will be a forefront of coronal studies over the coming years. Here we summarize our 3D modeling efforts, aimed at forward fitting of imaging spectroscopy data, and describe currently available 3D modeling tools.
