The aim of this project, "Development of Wireless Mesh Network Planning and Analysis Tool", is to create a GUI-oriented modeler for wireless mesh network planning and analysis. The main purpose of network planning is to provide a costeffective solution in term of two objectives which are coverage and capacity. Network planning covers a wide range of issues from coverage (base station or access point) to core network system. It will develop a tool, using Java programming language, which provides functions to help users do planning setting up a desired wireless mesh network and also techniques to analyze the system

International audienceParmi les penseurs occidentaux, Jean-Jacques Rousseau est incontestablement une des personnalités les plus populaires au Vietnam. Pourtant, dès qu'on cherche à mieux comprendre comment les idées de Rousseau ont pu être introduites au Vietnam et quelles sont leur influence, les choses se compliquent. Des nouveaux diplômés francophones se moquent des lettrés de formation classique qui ne peuvent connaître des idées occidentales que par des ouï-dire. Pour Pham Quynh, un de leurs chefs de file, il est fâcheux de les entendre « citer à tout à propos et hors à propos du Manh-duc-tu cuu (en chinois Mong-te-tseu-kiou = Montesquieu), du Lu-thoa (Lou-tso = Rousseau) du Phúc-lộc-đặc-nhĩ (Fou-lou-te-eul (!) = Voltaire), sans rien comprendre les théories de ces écrivains ni saisir exactement leur portée philosophique et sociale. Encore qu'ils aiment à montrer qu'ils sont au courant des idées françaises, qui ne leur sont ainsi connues que par le canal de traductions chinoises, on ne peut pas dire non plus de ces lettrés qu'ils aient subi en rien l'influence française. Celle-ci est donc nulle en ce qui concerne les lettrés de l'ancienne école." 1 Il semble logique qu'un lecteur francophone capable de lire Rousseau dans l'original comprenne et transmette plus fidèlement les idées de l'auteur. Paradoxalement, les récentes études montrent qu'en Indochine française, Rousseau est peu présenté au public vietnamien : les revues vietnamiennes les plus importantes Dong Duong tap chi (1913-1919) et Nam Phong (1917-1934) lui consacrent peu de pages 2. International audience"Tô Hoài (1920-2014) a été le témoin et l’acteur de grands événements qui ont secoué le Vietnam au xxe siècle. A l’époque du Front populaire, le jeune Nguyễn Sen (le vrai nom de Tô Hoài) milite au sein des associations avec des artisans tisserands du village de son enfance. L’enthousiasme ne dure pas longtemps face à la répression coloniale et la dure réalité d’une vie d’employé précaire. Les lectures restent le seul loisir, d’autant plus précieux que les pages imprimées — même jaunies d’un numéro de revue vieux de quelques années —, sont la seule fenêtre ouverte sur un autre monde et une autre vie possible. Ses premières nouvelles publiées en 1940 sont chaleureusement accueillies : Vũ Ngọc Phan, rédacteur en chef de Hà Nội tân văn (Nouvelle littérature de Hanoi) et futur auteur de l’ouvrage de référence Nhà văn Việt Nam (Ecrivains du Vietnam), lui conseille de trouver une voie singulière pour se démarquer. Les paysages familiers de son village natal lui servent ainsi de cadre aux histoires simples, mais éternelles, des habitants avec leurs joies et leurs peines quotidiennes. Il raconte également la vie des animaux qui côtoient les humains dans ce village de la banlieue de Hanoi : les coqs et les poules, les chats et les chiens, les moineaux et autres oiseaux peuplant le jardin familial dont le plus connu est le grillon, héros dans les Dế mèn phiêu lưu ký (Les aventures de Grillon, 1942).

On a nonlinear heat equation associated with Dirichlet -- Robin conditions

Improving Texture Categorization with Biologically Inspired Filtering

Within the domain of texture classification, a lot of effort has been spent on local descriptors, leading to many powerful algorithms. However, preprocessing techniques have received much less attention despite their important potential for improving the overall classification performance. We address this question by proposing a novel, simple, yet very powerful biologically-inspired filtering (BF) which simulates the performance of human retina. In the proposed approach, given a texture image, after applying a DoG filter to detect the "edges", we first split the filtered image into two "maps" alongside the sides of its edges. The feature extraction step is then carried out on the two "maps" instead of the input image. Our algorithm has several advantages such as simplicity, robustness to illumination and noise, and discriminative power. Experimental results on three large texture databases show that with an extremely low computational cost, the proposed method improves significantly the performance of many texture classification systems, notably in noisy environments. Factors influencing the digital transformation skills of primary school teachers in the southern border province, Vietnam

The study aims to explore the factors affecting the digital transformation skills of primary school teachers in the southern border province of Vietnam. A descriptive study design was used to collect data from primary school teachers in An Giang province. The survey consists of 25 questions on a 5-level Likert scale designed to collect information on many factors. The primary factor in the digital transformation of teachers is   their intention. These findings make practical contributions to the research on the skill development of primary school teachers in the context of digital transformation to improve the quality of education in primary schools. At the same time, the study also provides five factors affecting the digital transformation capacity of primary school teachers, adding additional reference sources to support educational managers in the southern border region of Vietnam in building school development strategies according to the priority levels of each factor

A systematic review of effort-reward imbalance among health workers

The purpose of this article is to systematically collate effort-reward imbalance (ERI) rates among health workers internationally and to assess gender differences. The effort-reward (ER) ratio ranges quite widely from 0.47 up to 1.32 and the ERI rate from 3.5% to 80.7%. Many studies suggested that health workers contribute more than they are rewarded, especially in Japan, Vietnam, Greece, and Germany—with ERI rates of 57.1%, 32.3%, 80.7%, and 22.8% to 27.6%, respectively. Institutions can utilize systems such as the new appraisal and reward system, which is based on performance rather than the traditional system, seniority, which creates a more competitive working climate and generates insecurity. Additionally, an increased workload and short stay patients are realities for workers in a health care environment, while the structure of human resources for health care remains inadequate. Gender differences within the ER ratio can be explained by the continued impact of traditional gender roles on attitudes and motivations that place more pressure to succeed for men rather than for women. This systematic review provides some valued evidence for public health strategies to improve the ER balance among health workers in general as well as between genders in particular. An innovative approach for managing human resources for health care is necessary to motivate and value contributions made by health workers. Copyright © 2018 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd
