    Get PDF
In this research, the developing process of a piezoresistive pressure sensor working in the atmosphere environment applied in micro aerial vehicle using the MEMS fabrication method is introduced. The sensor consists of four Au/Cr piezoresistors in a Wheatstone bridge configuration on a wet oxidized silicon diaphragm. To fabricate the sensor, three lithographic steps were conducted: the first one is to define the resistors and Au/Cr lines/pads, the second and the third ones are to determine the width and the thickness of the square SiO2/Si diaphragm, respectively. The sensor diaphragm shape and thickness were defined by the anisotropic etching of Si in tetramethylammonium hydroxide (TMAH) solution, and the resistors array are formed by sputtering and wet etching method. The sensor size is ~6000 µm by 6000 µm. The sensor output voltage was measured for various applied pressure levels from 0 to 1.2 bar with 5V voltage supply. The fabricated sensor also exhibits a sensitivity of 50.01 mV/bar

    Get PDF
Currently, the application of the Internet of Things (IoT) in the industrial sector to improve the productivity and efficiency of industrial processes is no longer unfamiliar. However, for a wireless control system to operate reliably and stably even without the Internet, additional issues regarding energy and alternative control options need to be addressed. In this article, the authors have investigated the application of Bluetooth Mesh networks in industrial production systems. In a manufacturing facility, Bluetooth devices are installed on machinery and can exchange data with each other through a gateway device that serves as a data receiver for the Bluetooth devices. Additionally, the system can be remotely monitored and controlled through a Web server. Implementing this system in production enables industrial companies to digitize processes, transform business models, and enhance performance and productivity

Whiteleg shrimp (size of 0.55 ± 0.1 g) were fed basic diets either without or with supplementation of recombinant LvCTL3 protein at concentrations of 100; 200 and 500 µg/mL equivalent to 2; 4 and 10 mg/kg. After a 30-day feeding trial, shrimp were collected to measure growth parameters and survival rate, and shrimp hemolymph was also collected for analysis of immune parameters. Then, the shrimp were challenged with Vibrio parahaemolyticus at a concentration of 1 105 CFU/mL for 15-day. The results indicated that the growth performance, feed conversion ratio, immune parameters such as total hemocyte count, phenoloxidase, superoxide dismutase, lysozyme enzyme activity, and phagocytic activity of shrimp in the treated groups were significantly higher than those in the control (p < 0.05). Specifically, the dietary supplementation with recombinant LvCTL3 protein at 4 or 10 mg/kg showed better results than the other treatments. After a 15-day bacterial challenged test, the cumulative mortality rate of shrimp in the treated ranged from 20.0 to 36.67% which was significantly lower than that of the control group (63.66%) (p < 0.05).Tôm thẻ chân trắng có khối lượng 0,55 ± 0,1 g/con được cho ăn với khẩu phần cơ bản có hoặc không bổ sung protein LvCTL3 tái tổ hợp với các nồng độ lần lượt 100; 200 và 500 µg/mL tương ứng với hàm lượng 2; 4 và 10 mg/kg thức ăn.

Perception is defined as the result of an awareness process about phenomena, things (living animals, plants, or humans), connections between objects by activities including noticing, observing, differentiating, and acknowledging. A recent study was conducted to investigate the undergraduate’s perception of areas of psychology. This research used the Vietnamese version of the Scale of Interests by Areas of Psychology (EIAPsi), including ten subscales to survey 252 psychology students (57 males and 195 females) from four universities in Vietnam. The findings showed significant effects of university and major on psychology undergraduate’s perception of areas of psychology. Students majoring in Counseling and Clinical Psychology had more general knowledge about the functions and roles of Clinical and Health Psychology and Neuropsychology than other undergraduates. Industrial and Organizational Psychology students had more general knowledge about Organizational Psychology than students in other majors

Hemorrhagic Meningioma With Symptom of Convulsion: A Rare Presentation of Parietal Meningioma

    Get PDF
Meningioma is the most common, extra-axial, non-glial intracranial tumor with an incidence of 2.3-5.5/100 000, accounting for 20%-30% of all primary brain tumor diagnoses in adults. Meningiomas associated with intratumoral hemorrhage are very rare occurring in 0.5%-2.4%. of individuals. Herein, we report a rare case of hemorrhagic meningioma with the symptom of convulsion. The case was a 68-year-old woman admitted to the hospital with severe headache and convulsions. Computed tomography revealed an increase in heterogeneous lesion measuring 4 × 3 × 2.5 cm at the right parietal lobe. Brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) showed a grossly stable homogeneously enhancing extra-axial mass measuring 43 × 33 × 28 mm, small calcified peripheral, intratumoral hemorrhage. Histopathology showed a multi-celled meningioma with bleeding areas (WHO grade I)

Design of a fast cassette autoclaves for medical devices

    Get PDF
Ensuring patient safety in healthcare necessitates the sterilization of medical devices. However, traditional autoclaves are impractical for certain medical settings due to their size, bulkiness, and time-consuming nature. To address this, a compact and portable alternative called a cassette autoclave was developed. This paper presents the design and manufacturing process of a high-speed cassette autoclave for medical devices. The autoclave features small dimensions, lightweight construction, and user-friendly operation. It achieves remarkable speed, sterilizing devices in approximately 3.5 minutes. Made of durable stainless steel, it includes a digital control panel for seamless management. Extensive testing and validation ensure compliance with sterilization standards. The results highlight the autoclave's effectiveness and safety, making a significant contribution to medical device sterilization

Wearable devices for remote monitoring of hospitalized patients with COVID-19 in Vietnam

    Get PDF
Patients with severe COVID-19 disease require monitoring with pulse oximetry as a minimal requirement. In many low- and middle- income countries, this has been challenging due to lack of staff and equipment. Wearable pulse oximeters potentially offer an attractive means to address this need, due to their low cost, battery operability and capacity for remote monitoring. Between July and October 2021, Ho Chi Minh City experienced its first major wave of SARS-CoV-2 infection, leading to an unprecedented demand for monitoring in hospitalized patients. We assess the feasibility of a continuous remote monitoring system for patients with COVID-19 under these circumstances as we implemented 2 different systems using wearable pulse oximeter devices in a stepwise manner across 4 departments

Acceptance and user experiences of a wearable device for the management of hospitalized patients in COVID-19–designated wards in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam: action learning project

Background: Wearable devices have been used extensively both inside and outside of the hospital setting. During the COVID-19 pandemic, in some contexts, there was an increased need to remotely monitor pulse and saturated oxygen for patients due to the lack of staff and bedside monitors. Objective: A prototype of a remote monitoring system using wearable pulse oximeter devices was implemented at the Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, from August to December 2021. The aim of this work was to support the ongoing implementation of the remote monitoring system. Methods: We used an action learning approach with rapid pragmatic methods, including informal discussions and observations as well as a feedback survey form designed based on the technology acceptance model to assess the use and acceptability of the system. Based on these results, we facilitated a meeting using user-centered design principles to explore user needs and ideas about its development in more detail. Results: In total, 21 users filled in the feedback form. The mean technology acceptance model scores ranged from 3.5 (for perceived ease of use) to 4.4 (for attitude) with behavioral intention (3.8) and perceived usefulness (4.2) scoring in between. Those working as nurses scored higher on perceived usefulness, attitude, and behavioral intention than did physicians. Based on informal discussions, we realized there was a mismatch between how we (ie, the research team) and the ward teams perceived the use and wider purpose of the technology. Conclusions: Designing and implementing the devices to be more nurse-centric from their introduction could have helped to increase their efficiency and use during the complex pandemic period
