Between the Vinča and Linearbandkeramik worlds: the diversity of practices and identities in the 54th–53rd centuries cal BC in south-west Hungary and beyond

Szederkény-Kukorica-dűlő is a large settlement in south-east Transdanubia, Hungary, excavated in advance of road construction, which is notable for its combination of pottery styles, variously including Vinča A, Ražište and LBK, and longhouses of a kind otherwise familiar from the LBK world. Formal modelling of its date establishes that the site probably began in the later 54th century cal BC, lasting until the first decades of the 52nd century cal BC. Occupation, featuring longhouses, pits and graves, probably began at the same time on the east and west parts of the settlement, the central part starting a decade or two later; the western part was probably abandoned last. Vinča pottery is predominantly associated with the east and central parts of the site, and Ražište pottery with the west. Formal modelling of the early history and diaspora of longhouses in the LBK world suggests their emergence in the Formative LBK of Transdanubia c. 5500 cal BC and then rapid diaspora in the middle of the 54th century cal BC, associated with the ‘earliest’ (älteste) LBK. The adoption of longhouses at Szederkény thus appears to come a few generations after the start of the diaspora. Rather than explaining the mixture of things, practices and perhaps people at Szederkény by reference to problematic notions such as hybridity, we propose instead a more fluid and varied vocabulary including combination and amalgamation, relationships and performance in the flow of social life, and networks; this makes greater allowance for diversity and interleaving in a context of rapid change

International trade with explosives from the perspective of Czech law and European union law

The aim of this thesis is to realize description and analysis of the legal regulation of international trade with explosives, concentrated on the European community law and the Czech law. The thesis is focused on public law regulations of this issue with consideration of all partial aspects, including historical connections, because the legal regulations of explosives have several hundred years lasting history. The introduction describes the basic historical changes of the explosives issue from both the technical and legal points of view, focusing on Czech and British legal regulation. This part is followed by the theoretical categorization of legal regulation of the trade with explosives in the system of international trade law and by a survey of most important legal rules of international, European community and Czech law, regulating this legal branch. In the next chapters my thesis goes on with the analysis of valid legal rules, relating to individual partial issues such as a definition of the subjects authorized to explosives treatment, legal regulation of international trade with explosives for civilian use, international trade with explosives for military use and launching of explosives on European market. Práce je zaměřena na veřejnoprávní metody regulace této problematiky s ohledem na všechny její dílčí aspekty, včetně historických souvislostí, neboť právní regulace nakládání s výbušninami má již několik set let trvající historii. V úvodu je popsán základní historický vývoj problematiky výbušnin jak z technického, tak z právního hlediska, se zaměřením na tuzemskou a britskou právní úpravu. Následuje teoretické zařazení právní úpravy problematiky obchodu s výbušninami do kontextu práva mezinárodního obchodu a přehled nejdůležitějších právních norem mezinárodního, evropského i českého práva, regulujících toto právní odvětví. V dalších kapitolách pokračuje práce rozborem platných právních norem vztahujících se k jednotlivým dílčím problematikám, jako je definice subjektů oprávněných nakládat s výbušninami, právní úprava mezinárodního obchodu s výbušninami pro civilní použití, mezinárodního obchodu s výbušninami pro vojenské použití a uvádění výbušnin na evropský trh.
